    MALI'E IM HALF TONGAN ,MY MOTHER IS TONGAN AND FATHER SWEDISH. I AND MY FAMILY IN TONGATAPU ARE THE "VAI" FAMILY FROM VEITONGO,(my name is ME'ENINGI VAI CARLASONI)(my mothers name is ELEMA VAI CARLSON). THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST PRESEANTATIONS OF TONGAN ANCESTIAL STORYS WHICH HAVE BEEN TOLD DOWN THE FAMILY LINE. BUT AS SOME RACES HISTORY HAS BEEN LOST TO OPPRESSION AND WAR AND MANY OTHER THING THAT I COULD GET INTO BUT IT WOULD TAKE ALOT OF TYPING!(ha!) I HAVE HEARD THIS STORY THROUGH MY LOVING GRANDMOTHER(bless her soul)(TAI PALETI VAI) BUT TO PUT IT IN THE FORM OF UNBEIVABLE TALENT AND ACTION,MAKES ME PROUD TO BE A TONGAN. GOD BLESS THE COUNTRIES OFTONGA and the TONGAN ISLAND AND THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE TONGA TONGA.! TONGAN PRIDE! STRONGER THAN EVER!!!

      They're Tongans from Tonga. Are you even Tongan?

    • @stateaveFTW312
      @stateaveFTW312 10 лет назад +1

      Are you serious?? The dances to the story was more cook island or Hawaiian than Tongan. I don't know any Tongan dances where men don't taulalo and not teki. on top of that the music was more lion king than Tongan. The Taufakaniua at the end looked like they were swaying with the sticks.Its a war dance, Im pretty sure its meant to be a stab instead of a sway, hence the reason why i asked If they are even Tongan. If you don't know what Im talking about then you're a plastic Tongan

    • @c.e8827
      @c.e8827 10 лет назад +3

      First of all the dance to the story does not look anything close to Hawaiian, Hawaiians have no bending of the wrist in their movements, they're stiff and strong. The movents in this video are fluid nothing close to Hawaii so I don't know what the hell you're talking about. The beginning of this show is how a family is traveling throughout Polynesia and the first island they come across is Tonga. The dancers teki throughout the whole dance so I don't know where your argument is there, maybe the definition of teki in your vocabulary is different from the head movement teki. And I don't know how the hell this music resembles anything close to the lion king. The music was written and composed by Tongans from Tonga. And as for the taufakaniua, u must be blind how in the world does it look like a sway? They're CLEARLY thrusting the sticks side to side, up and down. This same show that you're criticizing was watched by Queen Nanasi Pau'u Tuku'aho this past March and she had nothing but good things to say about the Tongan section performed in this show. So your side comments don't really matter. Bottom line if you didn't like the performance then make up your own Tongan dance, become the number one tourist attraction in your state (like the PCC in Hawaii) and then you could talk and throw dirt on this Tongan performance. Until then keep hating.

      And your comment about being a plastic Tongan I'm not even going to acknowledge. If you're Tongan you're Tongan. No one cares what someone like you would label them, because you're nobody to impress.

    • @stateaveFTW312
      @stateaveFTW312 10 лет назад

      Are you blind? On the dance on 3:26 they don't do 1 teki! You must be blind or dumb cause last time i performed and taught a mako none of those moves were ever incorporated. The Taufakaniua at 9:01, your telling me that they aren't swaying?? Are you serious? Of-course shes going to say only good things about it, do you really think shes gonna bag it out in front of everyone?? She's just happy more people are learning about Tonga. Close your eyes and only use your ears, the instrumental definitely sounds like a Lion King soundtrack. Hahaha you think people fly hundreds of miles away to see yous? Haha you're just another activity to do on the list. You obviously haven't been to Tonga, because in Tonga they laugh and talk behind your back if you're Tongan and don't know the traditions and customs, the certain behavior you're meant to display in public. So to answer your question, YES the real Tongans CARE! If you don't care of how things are done in Tongan ways than don't do it at all.
