    Great review! That Santa Fe EMD SD40-2 is a beautiful locomotive. The locomotive is really very responsive to commands, and I love the sounds. Very nice indeed! Bill B.

      And very powerful locomotives Bill, even the Operator variant of this locomotive, of which I own four of them, is capable of hauling between 40 and 50 cars per unit!

    Never owned the Rivet Counter version of this locomotive Sterling but do have four Operator SD40-2s, these Scaletrains versions are easily the best SD40-2s ever made currently!

    Nice model stirling! I’ve always liked the yellow and blue paint scheme of the santa fe.

    Nice review and mini history lesson. I have 5126 sitting in its box, off limits until Christmas. It's DCC ready since the DCCs were sold out, but no big deal. I'll drop an ESU in it and be good to go. Can't wait to get the shell off the body and put some weathering touches on it. :)

    Great review that Santa Fe sd40-2 is nice looking. (I think my favorite power from the Santa Fe is the c44-9w's in the red and silver warbonnet paint job and they were some of the last new power for the Santa fe before the merger with the burlington northern). I also hope they could do the new sd40-3's that Norfolk southern is doing now (I think those ones turned out really nice).

      They actually did make admiral cab SD40-2's in this run as well.

      I love the yellow bonnets. Grew up with them on the Escondido sub in San Diego. They're still running them even gp 30, 35, and 38's

    Hello! I'm trying to get into HO. Any reccomendations on track and DCC brands? I'm currently using Hornby track, but it's not that great.

      Get yourself some Bachmann EZ track (with the grey road bed, not the black, and a Digitrax Zepher Express. That's what I use for my layout and it's very user friendly for those coming fresh to dcc.

    Great review, the sound is almost identical to the Intermountain SD40-2's I have though I'm not a fan of that horn. Did the Snoot nose not come with regular ditch lights?

    • @ravenhawk6910
      @ravenhawk6910  2 года назад +2

      This is the as delivered version so no ditch light requirements yet. That didn't happen until 1997.
