Phil saw Hitler in a dream and thought it was Claire
Also she's trying to keep her family safe and her kids in pants and doing well and Phill continuously threw her to the wolves in the first few seasons and acted like an extra kid.
So homelife wasn't the best, she's the one that has to be the disciplinarian and such and the family doesn't like that despite the fact if Claire didn't do that nothing would get done.
Although would be be good for Claire to relax sometimes? Also yes. Just like Phill needed to step up some.
At least it got better in later seasons.
