I agree. If scientist don't know they should be required to say. "We do not know why this inflammation occurs... One of many theories is... " Additionally H. Pylori has been found in the colon and all throughout the body. So outside of the stomach it is also found in the small and large intestines Additional causes could be parasitic infections that have burrowed below the main layer of the large or small intestine. Then when a scope is used the parasite would not appear present (unless using contrast media) but still cause problems. I have actually found a lot of research that shows a lot of autoimmune diseases are caused by subclinical infections or by infected tissue that has poor blood flow and perfusion.

@The Magic Crafter it sure is, stress is a huge factor in recurring flares so just try your hardest to stay grounded but life is life and can always throw obstacles at you.
@@southwestslots Thanks for your comment. I'm 53 and was diagnosed in 1992 so it's been a long time and right now I'm in a flare but hopefully coming into the healing phase in which I am now seeing formed poops but had some mucus/blood this a.m. (however not as much as before). This has been going on almost 4 weeks and I have lost weight which is part of a flare as I'm not eating much. Consuming yogurt, broiled chicken, white rice. It's so beautiful outside today and really wanted to go bike riding but of course I never know when I'll have to go. What are you taking to control yours. Thanks for your encouraging post! Sometimes you feel like the only one who has this disease.
@@southwestslots please tell me more!!! I was diagnosed 2 years ago and I refuse to take medication. I know the doctors get commission from medication and its now a business scheme. I have been limiting my diet and eat 1 avocado and 1 banana a day for breakfast to prevent a flare up. I stopped for about 3 months and now I am currently going thought a flareup. It is terrible. No one talks about how painful and excruciating it is. Do you mix the turmeric and apple cider vinigar and take it like a shot? I would like to try this myself but i would like more info first please
Please explain more on how you use apple cider vinegar and tumeric? I am now looking for natural remedies as this UC symptoms are getting worse and now the pain is on my upper abdomen area, my UC are moderate and I'm worried about severe symptoms.
Hi, I was diagnosed with severe UC back in 2019 and struggled for years. A few years later I started juicing celery and cucumber every morning to heal my gut, and it’s made a huge difference. Each morning, I juice half a cucumber with 2-3 stalks of celery and drink a glass for breakfast. I’ve also cut down on fried foods and completely stopped drinking carbonated drinks.
Have been in remission for about 12 yrs, but last year it came back, i cannot attribute one specific thing.... but i had a stressful episode and was eating outside food very often ....... now feeling ok since taking mesacol and home made food only and trying to stay away from stress
Hope you feel better. I'm in week two of a flare. Taking massive amounts of tumeric, boswellia, l-glutamine and probiotics. I'm 53 and had this disease since I was 22. I brought this on by eating some really toxic foods for people w/UC. I ate pickles, onions and regular bun. Just terrible and I was in remission before. I blame myself. I hope you're feeling better. Also the stress is a huge contributor of the disease. I'm pretty much fasting, (having giner tea, bananas, rice).
@@rohanpatil2104 Hi there. Thank you and now I'm wrapping up week 4 of this flare that is finally calming down. I've only had two soft poops today and it already noon, so for a person w/a UC flare up having only 2 poops by noon is really good. Let me know if I can help answer any questions or concerns. Don't worry, we're all in this together and nothing is too gross for us UC people! God bless and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!
@@hfactor6429 Good morning. Yes, I can help you understand what a "short/long" flare feels like. I've had UC a long time and I've just come into remission by the grace of God. I believe in Jesus and He heals. Anyway, if I eat something stupid like I did (pickles, anything with wheat, sugary stuff, even watermelon) it will trigger the inflammation in my colon. I didn't realize I couldn't eat watermelon and I love it. Okay most flares take about a week to start coming under control, most often, for me it takes a bit longer like 4-8 weeks. What will happen is I have a high urgency to go the bathroom several times a day. I will THINK I have to pass gas but it's really liquid poop with mucus/blood mixed in. I'm finally able to actually just pass gas. Hey we are all UC sufferers here so nothing in embarassing to chat about. During a flare it's mainly liquid poop and I would get pain on my left side. Once in a flare I can only eat white rice, banana, I drink chamomile tea, apple sauce, eggs made with olive oil and protein shakes (no dairy). I stay away from all dairy (except greek yogurt - some how I'm able to tolerate it), no bakery stuff, no candy, definately NO ice cream (which is my favorite), no sodas (never drink soda, just horrible in every way). I think I really diverted from your question. So sorry I rambled like this. Please let me know your next question(s) and I'll make sure I just get to the point. God Bless you with healing....
Try Entyvio. That’s what I am on. Also, try to fast as well and eat less sugar and low carbs. I like Entyvio and you will get a flare once or twice a year but I have added intermittent fasting 16:8 and 20:4 this is also taming my gut since I am getting over a flare.
As a scientist (not in this field however), this is my general observation in regards to my UC: Chronic Stress is number one and perhaps the only reason I got here. Stress resulted in irregular sleep patterns too. So, lack of regular and enough sleep plus stress means flares up! No stress, no UC. However, when there are flare ups, I do need to get medications to go back to remission. Even if I remove the stress, I cannot go back to normal conditions at all. Anybody with similar situation? I do have a very healthy diet and life style besides.
DIET IS EVERYONES ISSUE with uc, eat real food no sugar, no bread, no processed food, keto and carnivore diets if followed correctly will help greatly.
Same here. For me, I was prescribed Entyvio which is an infusion every 8wks. I hate it now because life shouldn’t be like this. Now, I have added intermittent fasting, no added sugar, and low carb. With the stress I pay more attention. My last flare which started in October was stress from a second part time job. Once I quit the job my I was able to focus on taming my gut.
UPS COURIER DELIVERY SERVICE i took pentasa but then changed to Azacol. I too was hopeless. None of my doctors knew what i had until i found the correct doctor. I was to the point of blood transplant. In 3 weeks i was healed and have been without major symptoms until now that i turn 14 because i need to increase my treatment. I have had it since i was 4. For 10 years
I haven’t seen a doctor in years and can usually stay in remission with diet and supplements, but this recent flare has been so bad and long lasting that i think i need to get on some long term medicines
@chrisDAndrealifestyledesign How are you feeling now? I've had this disease since I was 22 and I'm now 53. I brought on a flare that I'm hoping I'm in the recovery stage of. I've been dealing with this almost 3 weeks. Right nowmy poops are becoming formed and yesterday I didn't see blood but multiple trips to the bathroom for my butt to spit out mucus stuff (I know I don't have to be embarassed to tell you this as we all have this disease and know how disgusting it is). Like you I am no longer under the care of a GI as all they wanted to do was give me more drugs to take by mouth or up my butt. I know there are supplements, especially Tumeric that are proven to help heal inflammation and I just read a post about Black Seed Oil, did my research and purchased a bottle that I'll get tomorrow (thank u Amazon). Your post was 2 years ago but how are you? Please write back if you can.
@@Zhankeshtoo Hello there. I haven't noticed anything with the black seed oil but I will continue taking it. My UC flare is slowly starting to calm down. I'm taking Garden of Life Primal Defense Ultra. I take 5 capsules about every hour and I can tell it's working. In addition I'm taking Vitamin Shoppe Tumeric extra strength 900 mg. I take 3 capsules about every hour and I know that is helping as you can see the color in the stool. Tumeric has been scientifcally proven to help heal UC as most of the tumeric settles in the colon and targets inflammation. I know the amounts I take of each supplemet seems extreme but it is helping me come back into remission. My diet is bland. Once I'm in full remission I will scale back a little on the amount of these supplements I take. Please let me know if I can help with anything else and God bless you with healing.
I understand as I am in week two of a flare. I had about 10 bathroom trips with small spits of liquid, mucos/poop and I was happy I didn't see blood but of course JUST now I had an episode with blood and I'm starting a new job tomorrow so all I can do is pray. I always keep immodium to slow the flow and lots of l-glutamine, bosewellia, vitmain d, tumeric and multi vitamins. I'm pretty tired right now. My diet is banana, hardboil egg, white rice, chicken broth. Let me know fo you're doing.

The biggest flaw in this therapy is that they’re treating symptoms with medication. In Ayurveda Ulcerative colitis is correlated to “Grahni roga” in which mainly pitta dosha is imbalanced along with the kapha dosha. The Rakta & Mamsa Dhatu are affected in the body with this disease. These all are due to including excessive Pitta vardhak ahar in your diet. For a proper treatment of ulcerative colitis Ayurveda contain various herbs that act on the root cause & vanish it from there

Someone told me about Dr Vikram Chauhan, he is specialised in treating UC, we visited his clinic and he prescribed him uc care pack and told him to follow proper diet chart. Finally he is fine after 5 months
@Cute Puppy stay away from dairy product, red meat. Only plant based food, kefir, gluten-free food. Fish, egg and seafood maybe ok. Don't have to follow this because everybody has different reaction so just patient with yourself and you can add up or put them out off your diet plan. Mashmallow roots or Slippery elm, licorice DGL, chamomile tea may help

We need more research into treating the CAUSE not the symptom. WHY do people get UC?
Due to wrong food and lifestyle.
I agree. If scientist don't know they should be required to say.
"We do not know why this inflammation occurs... One of many theories is... "
Additionally H. Pylori has been found in the colon and all throughout the body. So outside of the stomach it is also found in the small and large intestines
Additional causes could be parasitic infections that have burrowed below the main layer of the large or small intestine. Then when a scope is used the parasite would not appear present (unless using contrast media) but still cause problems.

Hey
Can you explain what a flare feels like let a lone a 4w flare? Thanks
Why didn't he give the names of any of the new drug therapies?? What use is it if we cannot research them further?
Try Entyvio. That’s what I am on. Also, try to fast as well and eat less sugar and low carbs. I like Entyvio and you will get a flare once or twice a year but I have added intermittent fasting 16:8 and 20:4 this is also taming my gut since I am getting over a flare.
Because they all suck and are stupidly overpriced
The one they don't name the mechanism of is almost certainly tofacitinib. The other one before that is vedolizumab.
I agree. Stress causes colitis
I heard cigarettes help with the symptoms
@@bobdarbo7801 you don't solve a problem with creating another problem!
I agree 100%
Yes chronic stress caused me UC along with an infection and anti biotics that triggered it. Did you manage to go off meds after remission?
The question is, can you "undo" UC naturally? Diet wasn't my issue, stress was. By significantly reducing stress, do we get our lives back?
yes I think
DIET IS EVERYONES ISSUE with uc, eat real food no sugar, no bread, no processed food, keto and carnivore diets if followed correctly will help greatly.
Same here. For me, I was prescribed Entyvio which is an infusion every 8wks. I hate it now because life shouldn’t be like this. Now, I have added intermittent fasting, no added sugar, and low carb. With the stress I pay more attention. My last flare which started in October was stress from a second part time job. Once I quit the job my I was able to focus on taming my gut.
