Put this kit onto my 2007 Tundra today and just let me say..... Wow! I was amazed at how easy the installation was. Sure it took me and my brother in-law a few hours but we’re not professional and we wanted to make certain we got it all correct. I was blow away by the step by step instructions I got with the kid from the website. Do your self a huge favor and go get this kit and then download the step by step instructions. Not one step was left out.... Excellent work! I’ve since gone back to Low Range Off-road to see what other products they might have that I’d like for my Tundra! Thanks guys! Keep up the great work!
How is the ride after the lift, any usual noise or rough ride? I want to do the same with my 2007 4x4 but I’m concerned the ride will be compromised. I like the factory ride.
Do you notice a large departure from the norm in the angle of the front wheel axle CVT joints. Looking at any 4x4 Tacoma the lower body line rides above the centerline of the wheels, That is the look i want for my Tundra.
FINALLY got these REMOVED after having them on for one year... I had no idea what a severe downgrade a spacer was, I just thought it was not the best ride quality. The reality is spacers REMOVE suspension travel. Spacers cause widespread damage across the board. Your UCA will rub the spring, you will loose droop articulation, you over extend the UBJ operation angle, cant reach your bump stops, the strut becomes your suspension limiter, either breaking the strut or its mount. DO NOT PUT ANY SPACER ON YOUR STRUT! Not just this one! If you need lift you MUST buy longer struts or you are downgrading and lowering the performance of your suspension. Fitting a high performance off road tire becomes useless when you have a downgraded suspension with 4" of articulation and bottom out on your STRUT MOUNT!!!!
Do you mind me asking how much the install cost? I'm considering doing this lift as well but don't have the required gear or know how to install myself. Are you satisfied with how it turned out. Also have a 2015 Tundra.
I just did my 2017 Taco and I don't have a lift like a mechanic. So the procedure is a bit different as I discovered while doing it. This video is more for mechanics and not for guys like me without a lift. Well done video tho.
great video. got mine done, it was a real pain. 2hrs per side for me. i dont think i'd bother attempting this on jackstands again... next time shes going to the alignment shop and they can do it all!! very detailed and good. I had problems loosening the upper control arm bolts on one side and ruined a 24mm impact socket... loosening helps but on that difficult side i was able to put enough pressure down on control arm to get the strut in....
Very Very good video. Easy install explained simple . No jargon and crazy tools needed. I only wonder why no red thread lock was needed for rear leaf nuts. ?
I think you are referring to the U-Bolt nuts, Right? We don't put red thread locker on those nuts because we recommend they be re-torqued after the first 500 miles. We should have put that in the video but didn't. I will add that note. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

My local offroad shop strongly advises me against using spacer struds, citing problems with stability and ball joints. How accurate is this? I see so many use it and have no problems - what are you guys take on this?
You can use the subject of strut spacers to weed out worthless shops. ANY shop willing to associate with strut spacers for ANY reason off-road or not, steer clear, they have absolutely no experience or they would understand why they CANT BE USED.
I feel this method only works with a lift. There is simply not enough room to lower the strut assembly low enough to come out on the ground. Good video though. Narrator voice and pace is great for this kind of tutorial.
There is a whole laundry list of problems. A 1" spacer is not ok, this 3" one is a total joke. The UCA is at full droop with it sitting on the ground..... ROFL
You have to cut out a section of the frame to get at the bolts. Clamp them from spinning, when removed. Clean the area. Grind it weld back into spot. Then clean and grind the section of frame and weld in a. Plate to seal it. Lots of work. .lol

Did you just tighten the cam bolts while the car war up in the air? Did you notice the angle of your upper ball joint? You will be needing new ball joints in 3 months. Good luck. Spacers are bad.
Toyota factory service manual calls for 45Nm or 33 ft-lbs for the 4 strut Mount nuts. Not 47 ft-lbs. Just spreading information, do what you please with it.
Issue is the sway bar mounting bolts snapped and required some "surgery" to fix. I live in the rust belt and have a feeling those are not going to co-operate. So if I don't have to touch them it would be better. Lol
Yes, I’ve owned Tacoma’s and tundras for along time. Theses spacers will give you some extra ride hide. They eliminate almost all your down travel and put your cv shafts at angles that wear them prematurely. The last Tacoma I put these on, in 120,000 miles it went through 2 sets of cv’s and 2 sets of lower ball joints and 3 set of uppers. The tundra may have a little stronger components, but you still will not get the full service life out of your front end components.
I do not believe so... not the way they install this one... there is spacers in between differential brackets and the frame. So it actually drops ur different down a few inches to make up for lifting up the truck
Is it recommended to replace the upper control arms to get a better alignment? I was reading that with a 3" lift it is best to also replace the UCA's. Any thoughts?
I had this kit professionally installed along with new UCA's. Aligned Tacoma (2017 TRD off-road) to factory specs. I'm now experiencing a vibration at various speeds. Can you please help with some advice. Do I need to also drop the carrier bearing?
Did u ever figure out the vibration? I have a 3/2 ready life which is similar to this and I am getting a vibration like u described on my 2021 tundra I have done the diff drop and sway bar drop bracket and it was professionally installed and aligned. @@EverythingisFire A spacer kit is generally a steel spacer that bolts to the top of the strut assembly. The spacer doesn't pre-load the spring, but instead, it sits like a crown on top of the upper strut plate, putting space between the strut frame mount and the strut itself. Making a strut longer on any IFS vehicle is a bad idea. Increasing the struts length, and putting more space between the upper and lower control arm throws geometry way off. At static ride height, a vehicle wearing a leveling kit sits in a position where the suspensions down travel travel is at 2" or 3" (depending on the kits lift.) This puts the cv joints for the transfer case out of the normal operating range and angle they should function at, as well as causes the power steering rack (if applicable)to have poor tie rod operating angles. A tie-rod that used to operate nice and parallel to the ground, is now working at an angle. With the kit installed, allowing full articulation of the front end causes even bigger problems. Now that the strut is displaced 2-3" lower in the strut tower/frame mount, it now fully extends too long for the other front end components, causing over extension of the cv joints, tie rods, and upper control arms. Ive noticed that this translates into the upper control arm drooping down to the point where it swings into the struts coil spring, where it rests. This makes the upper ball joint the suspension limiter, instead of the strut. I can only imagine the shortened life the ball joint will suffer with a leveling kit setup. Leveling kit companies such as "ready lift" and "truxxx" to name a few state that "our kits will not alter the factory ride feel" Although this statement is true, because the strut assembly's shock remains unchanged, it is doing a number on your front end.
