I bet mr house is the only sane survivor left in the wasteland. Imagine being stuck in his pod, presumably unable to anhero, all his securitrons are dead, he may be able to connect to his computers in the penthouse and the fort but so what? That would be one torturous existence.
But the thing is, if it was the Yes Man ending then by rights Mr. House would've been dead or trapped in his pod from being disabled. It would've been cool to be able to talk to him though and learn more about what happened; a true reward for completing the Strip.
Wouldn’t he be dead in DUST? Maybe instead you can loot the platinum chip off the courier and use it to access Mr. House’s computers and look at his calculations and projections? IMO it would be a neat way to imply, but not really tell, what happened.
House is long dead in Dust's lore, this is the end result of an edgy anarchist Courier playthrough that went the Yes Man route and was declared a terrorist by the NCR for nuking the Long 15 in Lonesome Road. After the events of the main game and once the NCR was forced out of the Mojave, they returned with an army big enough to completely capture New Vegas and defeated the Securitrons. They chased the Courier out of Vegas and sent death squads after him for years afterwards. And this is why even if you killed House, it's important to follow his plans and make sure the NCR isn't your enemy in the Yes Man run.
@@nagger8216 Courier is a literal android god so i would doubt anything the ncr could do would put a dent in that thick skull of its.
Its like the same lvl of broken as the Chosen one from Fallout 2. Safest option to put down (especially the Courier) is the leave them alone so they end themselves doing something stupid. Challenging them with overwhelming odds only gives them power. (Also ncr was tired of war by New Vegas time so how they would "return" with even bigger army years later? [also how does ANYONE know that it was the Courier that sent those nukes? Was that ball robot a snitch or what?]).
In some cases you have a crazy Currier that killed multiple deathclaws with a straight razor for "achievement" or something their braindamage told them to do. Against a force of stupid perseverance like that no army can stand against.

@directionalowl lmao, that's actually a little bit of a problem with people dogfighting in planes, the rate of fire is so great that they have like 30 seconds total of rounds to actually fire, so you need to make sure you have a good shot
Man, I played through Dust, went with the Zion ending, and totally missed the key. it was the ONE thing I didn't check, I guess I just missed it. Slaughtered my way through the Divide, killing everyone, only to realize what had happened after it was all over. Genuinely one of the most powerful moments in gaming ever, because it wasn't a forced choice. As much as I love Spec Ops: The Line, a lot of it doesn't work if the player doesn't WANT to go through with it all. But here, my stupidity led to the destruction of multiple tribes.
Its really the most depressing part of the whole mod. A group of Tribals who isolated themselves to try and keep safe and a poor confused wanderer who just wants to get out of this hell. Had either of them been able to take a moment and talk maybe their lives could have been better.
I gotta say, your narration and writing have gotten WAY better than when you started.

Suggested mods for Dust based on my own experience:

Near death, in particular, is a very nifty mod because if you cripple/mortally wound an enemy AND have a slave collar (crafted or found) handy, you can acquire yourself a pack mu...I mean, companion.
In addition to carrying stuff for you, your new (reluctant)friend will also aid you in combat (though not against the group you acquired them from, interestingly enough). Also, I discovered by accident that they have "magic infinite ammo" like the companions in the base game with their default weapons.
It can be tricky to acquire one. You have to cripple them, collar them quickly, and then administer a stimpak before they bleed out.
On my current playthrough, I have a female cannibal companion who uses a makeshift plasma rifle [~70%CND]. Oh, and did I mention that you can put human flesh in their inventory and they'll eat it? Because that's a thing. You'll actually hear them munching on it.

Thanks! Dust definitely took a while to learn, but most of it is just knowing how to maneuver around the strip. They don't make it easy on you!

But if you can hack it you'll be set with gear and some ammo for a while
It would've been really cool if they had a few more benefits of that spot because it's just so far away from everything and has roughly two exits; both of which have tunnelers. Definitely a tough spot, but you are absolutely right, it can be good!

I gave Dust a try last month and having to do the entire sewers/monument location because of a small mistake, getting blown up by Courier's buried mines despite having the light step perk and seeing Sierra Madre after riding the camp McCarran vertibird made me feel so mentally exhausted I had to take a long break from the game
It can definitely be a long, mentally exhausting process. I cut out a lot of the parts that I really got angry and fed up (mainly Old World blues for some reason), but I'm glad I was able to show all of the endings! Thanks for the lovely comment and your perspective 😊

It was a hot mess on stream. I cut out most of it, but you can see when I first enter it that it's all gloomy and blurry (to the point where it's unplayable). Fortunately a comand, something like teofis, got rid of visual effects and saved the day!

19:48 I'd actually expect Mojave outpost to be NCR's last bastion in the Mojave. It's far from everywhere else and is the main way to and from the Mojave for the NCR, so I'd expect them to hold it just so that the Mojave crazies don't overflow into NCR territory.
There are so many spots that would make you feel the same thing about any of the factions. There are so many "out of the way" locations that have still been wiped out. Thanks for the comment!

Dust is one of my fave mods ever. One of the most well done mods I’ve ever played
Old but when i played dust my mods messed it up so bad i had novac as a safe town (some NPCs still walked around town and the store was still functional). Once i realizrd i just started rebuilding the wasteland, made NPCs, added cars, added underworld the dust town on the mountains etc. it was pretty fun. only managed to finish the story flying to the capital wasteland.
It was pretty fun while it lasted (raiders and certain enemies broke because of Body mods, 3 guns had error signs others shot the error signs and i couldn't access certain endings. Without counting every male enemy had tribal tattooos and every female enemy had out of world proportions.)
This whole mod is probably what would’ve happened if Elder Elijah got his way.

That's actually exactly what happened. In Dust, the Courier trapped Elijah in the Sierra Madre's vault at the end of Dead Money. Not long after, the NCR discovered the Sierra Madre thanks to former Legion tribals that knew about the location. Elijah used their common hatred of the NCR to help lure them to the Madre for all the technology and to discover more about the Cloud. Elijah knew the NCR wouldn't resist and that it would all backfire and lead to disaster.

ending slide for nellis is the boomers destroyed the ncr so it makes no sense for the ncr to be at nellis

I’ve played frost, stalker, etc. for experience. Dust somehow is a different beast
It's definitely a cruel mistress, but part of me looks at it like some kind of test to overcome. I initially hated it, but it has grown on me as I've learned more about it.

Always wanted to play and finish DUST, but never got time or patience... and already played enough FNV (all achievements) to never wanting to see it again.
Fallout New Vegas is something that I can't leave. It keeps bringing me back in a way I can't explain, like an itch that is never scratched. I keep thinking I'm tired of it, but I keep coming back like I want more. As for Dust.... I initially hated it until I got good at it. Now it's a strange kind of hell. A wall of bloody murder as dense as Lonesome Road, just over the span of the entire game. Its definitely a lustful relationship that I have with Dust, not a loving one, so I don't blame you for not chasing its ending.
All that talk about handles and their shape and where they could be stuck has me acting up…

1:09:26 the rain removes the fog as the fog is spores from those spore guys (and joshua being the wendigo if true is due to prolonged exposure to the spores) anyways if i am r believing right the spores soak up the water and are too heavy to be airborne hense the clearing of the fog (or rain overwrites it idk)

You and me both. There are literally wandering traders but they just don't have dialogue. I'd recommend installing several Vendor mods if you are playing casually. If you are willing to stretch the lore a lot, consider installing New Vegas Bounties on top of it. Adds a few interesting locations/ NPCs.

Dust has some major issues, particularly with the Tunneler vision and the fact enemies have unlimited ammo. Easy enough to farm NCR soldiers near places like Golf Camp to get all the equipment you need for late game

tunneler vision is fixed with a mod and you can turn off unlimited ammo in the config file
