    Appreciate the effort Ben Kenney is putting in to, now doin' the slap piece of the song. That's answerin' what fans want. Both Dirk & Ben are great. Ben is incubus for the last 16 years. Let's accept that shall we?

    in my opinion as bassist ben is more harmonical and rythm type of bassist.. dirk lance is more kind of a of technical type of bassist, but either way incubus music is still the best..

    • @breakdown2218
      @breakdown2218 9 лет назад +3

      Out of curiosity what does it exactly mean to be a technical musician? I hear people say this about Gavin Harrison as well.

    • @Pedroleum100
      @Pedroleum100 8 лет назад +2

      +Solid Snack - harmonical musicians seek to attract an audience of musical laymen, whereas technical musicians such as Dirk Lance or Gavin Harrison seek to attract the police of progressive musicians.

    I don't care for this version of this song..I like the more jazzy, or acoustic version that they do much better..But that's what Incubus does, they like to change up their original songs to newer versions..Love this band, they are the Coolest, and nicest guys ever..I hope they forever stay this way, so far they have!

    Old or new incubus is still the best. And guess what? Ben strums the bass too. If you can see on their rehearsal jam on Incubus HQ, it fucking sound so fantastic and DJ Kilmore starts to play some funky music on the table. Their so fantastic. Stop comparing the old and new incubus, even the bassists. Dirk is still on the band. Dirk and Ben are fantastic bassist. Love them both \m/

    Ben is a great bassist as well as Dirk. Difference is that Dirk played a style I never heard before and haven't heard since. They lost that signature sound when Dirk left. As for bringing up "old crap": if it weren't for their past music and fans they wouldn't be around today for you to enjoy. I've been to 14 of their shows. I've given them plenty of my money, and I have every right to criticize. When you grow up and your favorites change, it will sadden and piss you off as well.

    I want to think that, but i've seen some of the latest live videos and he sounds pretty much the same IMO. Could it be because he's getting older? I hope that when i get to see them, he'll be spot on like you said :\

    Mike needed to turn up the gain a bit on this one. The guitar didn't bite as much as it did in the original.

    Boyd sings like he's not having fun, lacks rage, voice range, and he often has difficulty reaching high notes...

    The other bassist had a way better way to grove on the pop and slap on the verse. Speaking as a bassist myself. The old bassist is way better.

    [Insert random comment about how old Incubus was better and the new stuff is gay] Why do you guys still follow Incubus then, because you "love" them? It's been YEARS since they did this stuff. I would figure you guys would move on by now if you are not happy. I don't follow bands I don't like anymore. I understand they appeased your tastes then, but they are not your slaves, and they have their own interests and passions. For them, those days were likely just a phase. One many of us go through.

  • @theboss965
    @theboss965 12 лет назад

    Ben has nothing on their original bassist. Nor is he playing those parts correctly. He's just slapping on muted notes. Dirk was their talent and Ben was their downfall. They haven't been the same since he left.
