I'm also British and bought a farm in Västervik, Sweden earlier this year, I watch your videos with great interest as I climb my steep learning curve, you mentioned in this video going mackerel fishing at the end of May on your birthday, my birthday is the 31st of May!

I'm currently reading your book Regenerative Agriculture, so densely packed with information and inspiration! Was worth every Euro! These videos are a great addition to the book. I enjoy watching you showing and explaining things in the field that I've been reading in the book. Deepens the understanding. I have highest respect for what you've achieved. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge and experience.

I use to work on swimming pools, you are correct, the water pressure inside the pool helps stabilise the walls, you could build a brace inside the pool from wall to wall out of 2X6 and 1" ply sheets to spread the load evenly and for support during the build, once its filled with water you should be good to go

Richard as always Great video. What we do for our Deer problem is take aluminium foil into 4 inch wide & 10 inch long pieces, cover with peanut butter & space them on the electric wire they will lick it & get a shock & will not got up to it after that. But if they see that they can jump it then they will. The trick is to get them shocked before they figure out they can clear it.

Since he has some extra electric chicken fence he might use that above the windbrake he already has in place .. but then again .. the freezer is emty on meat ..

Bring some of that rain to Ireland. Am on east coast and my lack of irrigation system is costing me hours in watering everyday

Hope it's a buck. That would help with the dwindling meat in the freezers too!

Richard, have you heard of a Citrus in the Snow greenhouse. Really great energy-efficient design.

I noticed, it's been (up until only about 2 weeks ago at Latitude 50 degrees N, warm but chilly evenings. This was hitting end of May 1st of June! As you said before, each Summer, wildly different. It's warm now though and probably set in to be warm for a few weeks past the Solstice.
Your farm looks divine now however.
Incidentally, for the sheep and biting midges, have you ever considered taking herbs such as mint and making a lotion combination, perhaps with wild garlic to then apply to them and see if it acts as an insect-repellent? Naturally ungulates would be driven to distraction by biting insects and seek refuge by movement eg higher ground and wind speed or shade in woods etc.
The lady in the dungerees almost "yodelling" the livestock onwards, she looks like a natural on the farm!

Hi Richard! Thanks for uploading this amazing content. Love it.
I wonder how do you control the colorado (potato) bugs in the potato beds? Of course, I am looking for an organic solution, not a chemical one. If anyone could advise, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks!
