I think the under appreciated element is the guitar players backup vocals, adds to the depth without removing the intimacy of a guitar and voice, almost sounds like a very mild delay, so nice

Wish the production of the original was closer to this. A slightly overdriven bass line and some dead drums. Those vocals will carry everything else. Less is more.
