Save you time in the future if you’re just changing the hg, instead of removing the fuel rail just disconnect the whole intake manifold
awesome the perfect mix of not too much detail and closeups of what you did. Thank you!!!!
Yea no problem😎 I pretty much learned from watching videos that don't do close ups haha
Hey yo I'm getting ready to put in a new radiator I'm Mt civic 2002 ex the bottom busted out of the one I had in it I hope it's not a blown head or the water pump nice video
The rtv on the water pump and the oil pan is more likely to cause a leak than not using it. Honda does an AMAZING job with there gasket design just use oem gaskets.. Edit cause I just got to the Indian head gasket glue. This is for paper or cork gaskets that MLS head gasket is designed with a coating that's meant to contact clean dry aluminum. The only thing I would ever put on a Honda headgasket is permatex copper headgasket sealer. Good video though
Thanks for the info man😎
Get a new cap?? I did this two weeks ago and SAME, it overheated until we got the new cap.
ALSO, cleaned out the EGR passages in the cylinder head and wow so much more quiet.
Yup that's what ended up being my problem🤣 #twins
@@UlySambrano man hahaha i cant believe it !!
Uly Sambrano thabks for your input bro. I’ll try that
R u guys talking about a radiator cap? A million thanks
Yes
The cap was most likely caused to start leaking from the excessive combustion gas getting into the coolant system so you probably did need a head gasket anyways
Thanks had a 2004 Honda Civic same problem
Ayy glad it helped!
U can help by getting my cash app which is tulones3 so I can pay my mechanic
Shiiii i need 💰 money too 🤣
What did the overheating problem end up being because of? Also did you buy the head gasket kit online?
Russell Riemann it ended up being the radiator cap! (End of video) Haha the kit just got from AutoZone
Uly Sambrano lol that's funny all that work! Thanks
Russell Riemann I know right😂 I was like faakkk, owell haha
@@UlySambrano where did you get the radiator cap?
Just from autozone
Mine is using alot of antifreeze it's blowing out of the over flow tank I replaced the thermostat no difference.. no mixing of fluids
Its most likely the head gasket, compression is seeping past the gasket from the cylinders into the cooling system. Your cooling system could also just need to be bleed but kinda seems unlikely but you never know. If you pop the radiator cap off WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD and start it up and look for bubbles. If bleeding the system don’t work its the head gasket.
@@slowazzes1972 thanks for solidifying my thought. I have the joy of tackling this with my husband. My car was fine, had heat, no issues. Then boom. No cab heat, engine overheating. Thankfully we thought it was the hg a while back (wasnt) scooped one up and I've squirreled it away for a rainy day. The rainy day has come. 😂 just so happens the rain is tears because how long this shit is going to take😂
To be honest the extra pressure from the failed head gasket could have caused the bad cap
Muchacho te felicito, le pusistes mucha atención y lo hicistes muy bien, gracias por el vídeo y ya me ganastes cómo tu subcristor .
De nada!
You're supposed to replace the head bolts regardless
My research indicates this is false and fake news
@@UlySambrano Yep just watched a video of Eric the Car Guy. He said the same thing... you can reuse them as long as the threads are still good etc.... at least on Civics.
So what ended up being the problem if it wasn't the hg?
Take a guess
@@UlySambrano Let's see... Bad water pump, shitty rad, clogged heater core, old prestone, too little prestone, useless sensors, unreliable cooling fan, warped head, jammed egr, busted rad cap, open system, cracked overflow bottle, air in the system....(Can that count as one guess?)
Lol I was about to say that's a long guess but it's in there, the cap was what ended up being the problem
Doing all this now !!! How long did it take you !!!
I think it took me about 2 days
How did it hold up?
Pretty good! then i sold it about a year after
Hello, do you think it was the head gasket and it caused the cap to also fail?
No I think it was just the cap for this car. Because the guy I got it from said they got the radiator replaced and then it started happening.
So I think it was just a cheap cap that came with a cheap radiator
Uly Sambrano Okay, was it leaking threw the radiator cap or reservoir cap?
Nope it wasn't everything seemed normal
@@UlySambrano almost guarantee that you have air in your cooling system and that was the problem all along
Where the knock sensor located. 2009 honda civic sedan
Not sure man, you'll have to Google it
Ok thank u brother
Hey bro where did you buy all your gaskets and water pump from? And could you name specifically what you bought so i could use them for my car. I drive an 04 Civic as well
I got everything from auto zone I can't remember everything I got, should show it and say in the video tho when im in the kitchen
Uly Sambrano did you also use some ultra Black for all the head gaskets?
The actual head gasket no I used that brown Indian shiz, for like the valve cover and others I use a light amount of it. If that's what you mean👍
Man where did you find the torque specs
Just online through Google, I don't remember the website tho
@@UlySambrano I have a 95 Del sol, D15B7 engine. What do you google to find torque specs?
Before I watch...EGR Clogged???
Nope
This might sound crazy but do I drain the oil first?
I sold the car along time ago but If I remember right, you shouldn't have to unless replacing the gasket on the oil pan itself
Uly Sambrano 🙏🏾
I can do it but i dont feel like doing a head job
I don't blame you lol
I don't blame you lol
Like for all the 'bitch-ass things'!😆
Omg black gasket maker everything......if it has a gasket u don't need the goop....u just make pockets and channels for fuil to pass the gasket
You didn’t bleed the cooling system🤦♂️ that could of been your problem all along and probably still is a problem.
It worked good after the radiator cap🤷🏻♂️
Civics aren't as good as you think. The thermostat housing is upside down. Is your coolant reservoir filling up when you drive? Some people call this expanding. I think the cooling system is flawed.
Civics kick ass man, my friends gf drive to California and back to Utah with barley any oil and made it back lol
but no the over heating proble on mine was a bad radiator cap
It's these 1.7 01-05 civics that are the worst civics ever made by far
@@austinashe4278 just the motor. Rest of it is better built than 6th gen
I feel like I've smoked with this guy before, sure but...
lol
Thank you 🙏
Ugly sobrano
I'm not ugly tho lol
