I am not sure I would use "horrific" in (for example) Victoria's death, given her age and typical descriptions of people's last days of life, even now. But a number of others sure qualify for "horrific". For example, the judicial murders of Anne Boelyn, Catherine Howard, and queens outside the English queenship like Mary Queen of Scots and Marie Antionette.
