my favorite animals birds are so cool and badass, it must be great to be able to fly wherever you want whenever you want and feel that freedom that only the air element can give when flying that envies.
It's a "homing" white pigeon with a little bit of "rock dove/feral" pigeon mix. Usually these pigeons are the ones used for wedding releases only. They will return back home when lost within 50mile radius? not too sure the distance. Military used "messenger" pigeons back in war times of the 1900s. Usually if you drive on roads and see white pigeons with a crowd of feral grey pigeons perched in electiricy poles is because they got lost and their instinct is to survive and stick together so hawks wont be able to get them faster, but unfortunately dont last too long because they are domesticated and their white color makes them more visible to predators even when hidding in trees. Doves are aslo white but smaller and have a ring that is barely seen around their necks and also coo different pattern. These cannot return home if one allows them to fly outside because doves dont recognize where they live unless you have more doves that can sing and they can track where singing comes from but chances are, they will defenitly not make it because they are not too aware what cats like doing to birds
Agreed! I'd say, pigeons are larger in size and will have slick, fleshy growths at the base of its upper bill called the cere along with a pudgier body profile. They, too, have glossy pointed neck feathers, which doves don't have. Doves also lack the homing instinct that pigeons possess by nature. Furthermore, a pigeon's coo is different from a dove's coo, one being the pigeon's is deeper in pitch with a somewhat "mute" tone to it. On the other hand, a dove's coos will be higher-pitched with a clear, seldom "musical" tone to it in some.
i have a dove that prefers me holding her under the running shower head... she scared me today because she was leaning her head back into the water and acting as if she was falling asleep.. was she just comfortable? or should i worry?? note she is very active and never droops her head this is the first time ive witnessed her do this

Water is too hot. Make sure its only warm. Birds can't handle normal "shower" temp.
Is it a light spot in each of its eyes? Or... it can't really see...?QQ
Full jeoluos.
Birds love water... its a defense mechanism because cats hate it!!
