No problems with the front button afterwards? I saw a comment somewhere else where it wouldn't recognize fingerprints after installation. A guy replied to him saying the battery has to be disconnected first or it screws up the security somehow. Just curious. Thanks for sharing 👍
The home button was fine. It was connected to the outside case and to the main board. Disconnecting all cables before fully opening the front is standard to maintain functionality.
It depends on a variety of factors. For example, do you charge your devices all the way to 100% each time? That counts as one battery cycle and with each cycle, the battery loses cells over time.
You're supposed to heat the backside of the case... Heating the battery from the front like you did barely does anything to heat up the glue underneath.
With all due respect, this was at a time when I was just starting making more involved step by step videos and the music doesn't drown out my narration. If you don't like the music, subtitles and the ability to mute are provided.
Thanks for the tip about sparks from battery, only use plastic pries.

@@LeeStewart Thanks. All went well except for finding out you can't clean the LCD screen with Windex. Had to use alcohol on that.
To remove the battery carefuly you need a heating pad and some isopropyl alcohol
Very true. I just went full gung ho on the battery instead 😅
Usually if used carefully how many years does the iPad 5th generation battery last?

Yeah, this was my first attempt at an iPad battery replacement and it was three and half years ago. So a lot has been learned making this video.
Kind suggestion at least from my pov videos, especially with videos where we follow them, please don’t bother using music as it’s annoying.
