Learn how to fix the LCD or screen on your iPad 5! This easy to follow, step by step guide will show you how to replace them! Just follow along and your iPad will be repaired and good as new!
Please keep in mind it is rather important to sever the batteries connection to the board first before removing ANY ribbon cables. You can unscrew the single screw holding it to the board, then simply slide any very thin, non-metal pry tool or card in between the metal shield and the gold of the battery connector. Otherwise you risk a short. Once all the new flex cables of the new parts are reconnected, you can remove it and screw the screw back in place. Safety first bro.
Just got mine in the mail today. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.
If you want the fingerprint reading to work, you have to use the original button. I didnt care as the button still works as a home button and is less work to buy a glass/digitizer with the button on it. Good thing I did too because I broke the connecting wire on the original one lol
@@rjazco51 no do not do that 😂 I superglue a piece of long plastic to the screen and use heat to pry up a corner and then walk the gap all across the ipad. The plastic allows for more force to be used while first creating the gap
@@rjazco51bro what..? Thats messed up and this comment should be deleted. Your trying to get people to ruin it on purpose. Do NOT do this, that is way to much heat for way to long.
I followed this directly, the outcome was not good. I had the correct tools, heat gun and all, the adhesive was not forgiving at all and I ended up scratching the lsd under the glass which was the only part needed of replacement, lcd was fine beforehand. Oh well you live and learn

do i have to transfer the home button for the ipad 5 or can i use the replacement screen that already has the home button installed?
The original must be used for touch id.

My screen not even coming off. I tried to use a pry tool and nothing happened. I have an iPad 5th generation a1822 model.

@@rjazco51 you put a lithium ion battery in the oven? God this comment has to be a joke

Power needs to be disconnected first!
That was my exact though
My touch ID still works after replacement, but my home button does not respond to the click. Do you know why this might be?
It's possible the home button gasket or bracket is lose or damaged.
Repairs Universe where do u get a home button bracket?
Great video! Many thanks!
Thanks for watching.
