When they were a regional band I played on a bill with them in Columbia SC when I was 19.. 17 years ago, they were all genuinely straight up awesome dudes. And now I’m playing their songs for gigs, I’m not surprised at all that they blew up.. not only being awesome guys, they were just as awesome as a band as well

How can they be any dislikes on here?!?!?! They’re great!!!!! I’m a over 50 years old man who had to retire from drumming due to disabilities. Selling my drum set up was a very hard thing to do.😭 I agree some covers are not that great, but this cover and this band that I have much respect for do an absolute awesome job of covering this song. I’m sure they’re some songs that they may not cover as well. Some covers come out sounding better or worse than the original and some may do covers of the same song and sound great or not. I’m so glad that God blessed me with the talent to H-E-A-R music and not just hear music. Those of you that understand me....... you’re blessed to! Those that don’t understand, you don’t know what you’re missing but it’s nice that you enjoy anyway. It must come from the heart first and always to understand the gift 🎁

I always liken them to the Black Crowes without the family issues. Charlie is Chris and Rich Robinson all rolled up into one incredible musician. They are so good at pulling of covers and I love the way the blend them into their own songs live.

Allman Brothers are one of my favorite bands. Blackberry smoke is another. By paying homage this way, makes the Allman Brothers live on. This isn't just playing a cover. This is like Dwezil Zappa committing himself to learning Frank's music in such a way as to perform the music at a level that keeps Frank alive. All I can say is do more...OMG an evening with Blackberry Smoke doing Allman's..Live at the Fillmore....Jesus...my head would explode. Love you guys...Please do more.
I personally saw this band play at Gregg Allman's Laid Back Festival (his Final Tour before he died) and Blackberry Smoke was one of the warm-up bands along with ZZ Top. The band was outstanding. Gregg was outstanding for a person so courageous as to play music while battling a HOLY HOST of various bodily ailments. I cherish my "exclusive Artist Pass Backstage Pass" or whatever it is called ... It has been previously pictured and posted on my FACEBOOK page for all the world to see.
