Items/ Tools Needed- Hammer, Utility Knife with Hook Blade, Chalk, Tape Measure, Flat bar, Skil Saw, Sawzall, Roof Sealant, Caulk Gun, Roofing Nails, phillips screwdriver #3,
7/16’’ wrench or socket *optional 2 shingles aka flashing extenders

Install Instructions Step-by-step
-------------------__________________----------------------
Step 1- 1:00 -using your flat bar pull all roofing nails from the work area, about a 2 x 4 ft area around your center point. Total nails should be approximately 12-16.
Step 2- 1:28 - use a chalk to trace full circle hole cut out
Step 3- 1:54 - chalk mark half circle 9in radius
Step 4- 2:18 - use a skilsaw and a sawzall to cut out full circle trace Only
Step 5- 3:05 - use hook blade to cut shingles half circle trace DO NOT THROUGH ROW #5
Step 6- 3:32 - Slide vent under shingle rows #1-4 and Center vent over full circle hole cut out.
Step 7- 4:12 - Insert 1 vertical starter shingle per side under vent aka-flashing extender
Step 8- 5:22 - Nail down vent, make sure to install the nails on the far edge of the flashing then apply seal to the far perimeter of the vents flashing. Finally, reinstall the 12-15 roofing nails that were pulled from step# 1 (2X4ft area) make sure to also seal all the old nail holes left on the reused shingles.

No. None at all. Pretty much a plug and play. The vent is 100% powered by its solar panel. It only works when direct sun light hits it.
