  • In this tutorial I will show you how to sketch and ink in this spiral fern design, which resembles the foliage from the Avatar movies. After we finish the line work, I will also show you how I like to color it using color pencils. Feel free to try this out and play around with the design.

    Hi there, I was looking at your drawing and mostly I think oh I want to do this as well later on but today I just picked up a pencil and drew along on the back of a bill which happened to be lying before me to pay. Now the bill looks more inviting to pay with a smile as it has become a beauty 😅. Thanks for sharing tour talent.

    I've just discovered Zentangles, and this is one that I really wanted to try, but it looked too hard. You solved that for me, and now I'm going to give it a whirl. I LOVE the colors you chose! This really makes it pop even more so than just black & white, which is great on it's own. Thank you for such great instruction!

    You're my favorite kind of weirdo! I love how reassuring you are. Also love how you explain little details like how to make things look more three-dimensional by making a skinnier design by the edge.
    I'll try this design today!
    Your pens look nice but I'm not sure if they'll tolerate watercolor brush pens, which I used to color my drawings. Actually I use a combination of watercolor brush pens and colored pencils.
    Have you tried them with a water-based colored marker like the zig real brush pens?
    A similar pen that is water resistant is the Faber-Castell Pitt Artist pen. I especially love the Fude Medium! It's got a nice amount of flex so you can use it just with the point and get a fine line or angle it a bit and get a thick line. One of my current favorite pens!
    Thanks for all the inspiration!

      @betsi_jae Hi. I just wanted to share this with you. I started doodling in Oct 2023, so, very new to this art form. There are a few on RUclips who are very good, and I enjoy learning from them. I'm loving this newfound art (new to me, at least)! I only came across your channel 3 days ago, and I'm so happy I did. I love listening to your tutorials. They are very informative and very soothing, two things that are very good for me right now. Your work is beautiful and you have different ideas. I intend to watch you as often as I can and I'm looking forward to learning more from your work. Be well, be safe, and I'll be watching ☮️

    You do explain how to do this but seriously... 32 minutes of it? This should be an easy 5 to minute tutorial. You talk alot. So much so that it's really hard to want to do this with you because you're going sooo exasperated slow. Sorry. There's a negative and positive to everything. If I didn't tell you then you would never know. Gain of salt. But true also. 👍

    • @betsi_jae
      @betsi_jae  8 месяцев назад +5

      I'm not offended by your opinion at all.
      Not everyone likes slow drawing and I'm okay with that, dear. My general audience enjoys slow methodical drawings in real time 😊, and that's what I provide on this paltform. Thankfully, there are lots of other artists who make fast videos for those who lack patience. Best of luck to you.
      ***Also I almost forgot 😊. You can use the settings to increase the playback speed of any video. If you're in a rush, you can mute the video and play it really fast.

      I feel the need to tell you, because maybe you don’t know. If the video is slower than you’d like, you can look up to the right hand corner and increase the playback speed. This kind of critique is unnecessary. Grain of salt, but also true.
