    Thanks to Lintaro for bringing me here. ✌🏼 Great first video, I especially loved the pace and quietness in your editing. I have been to Munich as well not too long ago and currently work on a street photography video I recorded there (that will be published next week). I've been to almost all of the spots you went to too and it's so interesting to see how different other photographer's photos turn out in the same location. Looking forward to more videos on your channel. :)

    Great novel (I lived in Antibes for a while, where Greene also used to live ... ), great channel name and nice pictures. In the Samuel video, I think you put the finger on what I also like to watch: video of the moment of the shutter press and then seeing the result. Good luck on the new channel and keep up the great work.

    Hey Jim ! You said the Quiet and I wanted to add "unfocused" but you corrected the camera very quickly :-) Well, kidding., Glad to see you started this channel. I just saw your conversation with Samuel a few days ago and loved your Instagram gallery as well.
    About the said by you in Samuel's video - these thoughts about street photography and so agree with you about how many modern street shooters are looking for the funny and mocking moment in streets not really expressing something interesting. Good luck,. Hope to see more of your photography here. btw. a few years ago in September I visited a couple of my friends, living in Munich (actually in some small town very close to Munich), so I walked the beautiful streets with my cameras - a digital and film. And these friends are film photographers. They use the only film cameras already many years for every kind of photography.

    lintaro brought me here. Your video reminded me of a book reading about calmness. Something completely different but I like it. While you show your pictures you could just let the street sound continue to run - a trigger noise is not necessary.
    Your wide angle is really super wide angle. really great. Why exactly the 25mm?

    nice video. very interesting that you dont use music even when showing the images, and even more interesting to show the environmental sound.
    I do think and hope you can let the environment sound flow in to the images you show like the water fountain images. It would be very cool to hear the water flowing while seeing the still image.

    Are You using a light meter to setup your shutter speed? Also how is your ISO set up since the camera doesn’t have an ISO setup dial ?

    • @quietamericanreed
      @quietamericanreed  4 года назад

      I do a lot of guesswork and follow the sunny 16 rule somewhat. But recently I bought a meter app for my phone that I'm relying on more often. I just enter the iso into the app, or my brain:)

      Hey James- thanks! Yes, I mostly shoot bw film. I don't use the snap focus on the GR enough to be able to help there but Samuel Streetlife and Mattias Burling both have good tutorials for that. I can do a video about my photo editing of digital files- good idea!

    Your video was a refreshing change. I always fancied a canon range finder. As far as I remember the canon P was a cut down version but sold more than the canon 7. The quality on the P is as good as Leica they say. Prices have gone up as well. If your ever in France would love to shoot with you. I'm near limoges. My Instagram is monoart69 if you want to see my work. I loved shooting in Jakarta last may. I'm really getting more into candid street work .

    I personally think Munich is the least street photography friendly place there is. People generally don't look interesting and they dislike having their picture taken. My experience in Munich has been terrible for street photography. I live close to Munich and I go there often to shoot, but no street stuff anymore. Maybe I did something wrong.
    Anyhow I think your shots are rather nice considering it's well, Munich.

    You are a quiet american, nice video, nice camera although it seems to me the least important. I liked some photos but I always have the moral problem that street photographers steal the photos, sorry bro but, this dont like me, still less the photo that appears in 5.17. But well, I also see that you have done things well and have asked if you can take the photo. But still I don't think a photographer has the right to interrupt what another is doing. or to be recognized in a you tube video. If you do not have written consent, you could get into legal trouble. Cheers.
