Because the viewership would have been WAY lower had it been called "Star Wars: Reva"! Disney KNEW that there were more Obi-Wan fans out there than ''Disney Star Wars'' fans. This whole game of ''bait-and-switch'' is such a dirty tactic! Shame on Disney! >_>
90's early 2000's disney made great content. Its this new 2 faced lgbt blm generation that doesnt have any principles or morals so they just conform to what the majority follows. regardless of the result, they feel safe following the herd. The old generation made the heroes earn their roll vs now .
why do they do the bait n switch tho? like it might work the first season but who is going to be like i cant wait for the second season of a show that baited and switched. who honestly is hyped for a second season thats a reva show or the second season of all the marvel shows that have got that treatment?
if Reva lives Star Wars officially has no morality anymore If Reva dies, she's just a lazy Darth Vader clone, and Disney officially has no creativity left This is why i love Reva, no matter how this ends it just proves how stupid Disney Wars has become, the 'fans' just get to pick why.
Dumbest part of the episode was Bail spilling the beans about Luke in a message to a person he fears has been captured by the people they're hiding Luke from.
"Obi-Wan, I'm concerned that not having heard from you means you've been captured by the Empire! I guess I have no choice but to head over to 2954 Sand Hill Place, 76593, Tatooine, and pick up Luke, who is the son of Anakin Skywalker, now known as Darth Vader, who we've been secretly hiding for the last 10 years. If you manage to escape the Empire, please ensure that Leia is safe. You remember Leia, right? The daughter of Anakin Skywalker who has been posing as my daughter? Anyway, let me know if you get this."
"p.s. if you don't show up at Owen's farm I'm taking Luke to MASTER YODA, the exiled grad master of the Jedi order, who is currently hiding in the Degoba system. No one will find him there."
Oh and don’t worry if you need an safe place to hide my ENTIRE PLANET is ready to rebel and many of my citizens are willing to keep you safe once again THE ENTIRE PLANET WANTS TO REBEL FROM THE EMPIRE alrighty please come back soon my wife who I love very much and would betray my planet just to keep safe is going to corrosant here is the location of her house please come back soon because I want her to know HER missing adoptive daughter is ok
"Mercy doesn't defeat the enemy." Probably because mercy is something you can offer the enemy after they have been defeated, that's kind of how it works.
What really pisses me off.. Is that the original trilogy AND the prequel trilogy SPECIFICALLY let us know that Obi-Wan was 100% under the radar, an absolute hermit from the time Anikin became Vader until Luke Skywalker found him. This entire series is a slap in EVERY Star Wars fans face.
If you want to know what really happened there are comcis from the EU that Disney killed that are actually from decent to good. Obi-One has a fight with Darth Maul in the Lars farm and Owen blows Darth Maul's head off.
I had a glimmer of hope when Kenobi was first announced. But I'm glad I kept up my Disney boycott. Disney can't make Star Wars without failing utterly. Totally agreed with JSG: People like the idea of Star Wars, not this Disney Star Wars trash.
its pretty hard to actually boycott disney as whole. got so many fingers in so many pies. most people probably dont know they watching something connected to disney. be it news, film, tv and even music or games. they have media monopoly.
@@BringbackgAmberleafns Yeah they do have a lot of reach, but that doesn't make it impossible to boycott. Just depends on how determined you are to boycott Disney and as a former Star Wars fan, I am very determined in this regard. I know many others are as well. Disney hasn't gotten one rotten penny from me since I saw The Last Jedi in a theater. Wish I had started after TFA but I gave Disney the benefit of the doubt, which was a serious mistake.
@@daniell1483 yeah i gave disney some benefit of the doubt with the TFA. it was obvious it was just a new hope but it was serviceable as new film in a new franchise but when viewed as part of the sequel trilogy as a whole its terrible as very little if anything it sets up has resolution. and yeah i went opening night to see the last jedi in cinemas. i was cringing so hard watching that sh*tshow. it will always be the film that killed the franchise.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is terrible. But Rogue One, The Mandalorian, Season 7 of The Clone Wars and, yes, Solo are good. So it's useful to keep an open mind. Disney is hit and miss, because politics can override gripping (and logical) story-telling.
The reason Vader hides that he is Anakin is rather simple: he sees Anakin as weak. Anakin lost his mother, lost his friends, lost his mentor, lost the love of his life, and lost his to be born children (from his perspective). So Vader wants to bury Anakin, and he eliminates everyone he is allowed to eliminate (anyone not Tarkin and Thrawn) who knows Vader is Anakin... because Anakin died on Mustafar and Vader is the Emperor's Right Hand, he is the powerful Master of the Dark Side, he is an unstoppable intimidating Lord of the Sith. Not some weak slave boy turned Jedi who lost everything.
@@khatdubell It is implied Tarkin knows, even just from ANH context alone with this quote from Tarkin to Vader after Vader tells him Obi-wan Kenobi is on the Death Star: "The Jedi are extinct. Their fire has gone out in the Universe. (Intercom beep) You my friend are all that's left of their religion." Take it as you will since this come from the first made Star Wars movie. But it does seem Vader and Tarkin hold respect for each other. As long as you don't think about Filoni's Clone Wars.
@@khatdubell Tarkin knew but was smart enough not to pursue it since he actually respected Anakin as being a visionary in comparison to the other Jedi. For Tarkin it didn't really matter or affect their working relationship. Thrawn probably knew, but it wasn't a big deal for him.
@@khatdubell Tarkin deduced it in the novel of the same name and Thrawn really only had suspicions as he knew Anakin from the clone wars but all that probably isn’t canon anymore. Who knows at this point, they’ve fucked up the lore so much I cannot care less now 😆 hope this helped…
Anakin was also a cocky idiot who got his arms and legs cut off, Vader is not a cocky idiot and Vader is so strong he doesn't even have arms and legs to cut off.
You do realize the dude made an entire video where it was clear that he didn't bother to read a seven page bill and called the people behind it bigots?
Yes, this is extremely pedantic, but the thing that irritates me the most about people surviving after being stabbed by a lightsaber is that it's treated as though sabers are just glowy swords, rather than a focused beam of plasma that can and will cut through almost anything. When a person gets stabbed, they fall down, and unless the one holding the lightsaber deliberately lowers the weapon along with the person to keep it level with the injury, the saber should just slice right through the victim's torso, emerging out of their head or shoulder as they fall to the ground. There's no way anyone could survive that. A bit graphic for a family friendly show? Maybe, but in that case there are plenty of other injuries the showrunners could use instead that would make a whole lot more sense because they actually are survivable.
Dude the pain someone would feel having something like this in their stomach which would in turn get the surrounding organs to boil would be beyond taking.
Actually, a plasma blade would instantly superheat the water content in the human body wherever it hits, causing something like a pinkish vaporous explosion - chop off a head? That sucker would go off like a cork from a champaign bottle! (Which would be both horrifying and hysterical at the same time)
They've been doing that. Even in their High Republic books where they're "at the height of their power", they're a bunch of pansies. Disney genuinely hates the Jedi. They were called "Knights" for a reason.
It makes the older heroes like Ben look like a bum needing help while clearly pushing this female agenda as being a hero. I'm okay with women characters, but please don't do it to push the woke agenda on me. This is why it's no longer Star Wars like we hoped for.
I was cheering watching her get her butt kicked and watching both Vader and the Grand Inquisitor just absolutely dunk on her. If their plan was to make her an absolutely hateable upstart of a wannabe villain they did a pretty darn good job of it.
Matt walsh really hurt those fee fees. All he did was ask a simple question and let the experts talk and by doing so showed just how silly the word game they're playing is.
I know, I was surprised Walsh got an unrelated angsty mention here. What is a Woman must have really done it's job of changing the conversation around "pride month"! Surprised to see one anti-sjw throwing shade at another...
The really weird thing is that their strategy seems to be both working and failing: - it's working because the "normies" seem to be starting to accept that this is it for Star Wars: yet another franchise turned into the ultra-consumable Disney fluff that's the movie/series equivalent of elevator music. - it's failing because the people who always liked Star Wars have left and show no signs of returning, which really hurts the most profitable part of Star Wars: the franchise.
As long as the new fans have the same disposable income, wants to become just as much a fan of the new as the old was for the old, and they outnumber the old then as a franchise it is the logical route by being tied business. Also many of the old will rageplay, and continue to hang around the IP, even buying merch redone as well as theorize. Telling the old to "let the past die. Kill it if you have to"/"The future can be changed even if it has been written, so focus on the future and not the past" just adds fuel for the new fans to discard the old fans but love it because they get a stronger connection because of it and the old still give hate clicks, reviews, watches and plays. So the old still help keeping FF VII brand. Ops, I am sorry I mean Star Wars, Dr Who, Star Trek as well as FF VII and more and more.
@@vincentgraymore But there lies their problem: they're catering to groups of people who don't go to the cinema to watch the movies or have subscriptions to streaming services, but they refuse to acknowledge that fact. The box office results and ratings clearly show that and that's why these things are flopping badly. The LGB-whatever and other SJW movement supporters DO NOT spend their money on cinemas, yet they still DEMAND representation in movies, therefore ruining them for fans. The only group that seems to be tired of fighting against this SJW crap has seemingly decided that crappy, patronising movies are better than no movies at all and some of them are actually going to the cinema to pay for these crappy movies. The difference in revenue between these trashy movies and the few movies that actually make an effort to keep the preaching and patronizing down is huge though, which still makes this agenda pushing totally non-sensical in my opinion.
The question will be toys. Toys always made most of the money, not the movies. Do modern kids want Star Wars toys for Christmas? If they do not, the franchise will die off, but if they do, it will continue.
This series has made lightsabers very much less effective with killing people. Like clearly unless the lightsaber decapitates, cuts someone from the head down in half, or from shoulder diagonally to the hip they’ll be back.
and yet Qui-Gon, the man's who's death set the galaxy on the course to conflagration... is the only man in the universe to can't survive this injury.... what a great cosmic irony...
just wait until someone IS cut in half and next scene is there somehow stitched back together in a bacta tank without any explanation, careful what you wish for just like how all Obi wan's burns were all magically better the next episode, I mean Vader only needed a full life support system suit to deal with his. meh
As I expected, Reva's motives make no sense. She saw that Vader killed her friends, therefore...she is angry at Obi-Wan who trained him for not saving her? (Why didn't he just say "I was on Utapau, attacked by clones"?) And therefore she serves Vader, hunts all remaining Jedi, tries to kill them, chops hands off and tortures a child to find the Rebels? She is a horrible person and I cheered when she was stabbed...but then she lived.
They could have easily had the motivation for Reva’s obsession in finding Obi Wan be that he is the only one powerful enough to enact her plan for revenge and kill Vader. Unfortunately they layered shit upon shit and went with the nonsensical reasons in the show. I’m not sure how supposed professional writers can cock this up so badly. I can only assume someone with no writing experience and a lot of sway within Disney came up with it and everyone else was too scared to point out the idiocy.
Can't see how Matt Walsh has any relevance at all to the topic. Really reaching for a chance to take a jab at someone who goes against Just Some Guys own agenda?
Drawing that comparison had me scratching my head too, and I’m all for differences in opinions, but JSG has had a few strange takes in recent months. JSG seems to share a lot of the same concerns about entertainment and politics as the people he trash talks… Honestly I think JSG is doing himself a disservice by seemingly swinging down every side of the isle because it comes across pretty distasteful
@@rhys5958 This isn’t a political channel, so his political takes aren’t that big of a deal, because his takes on entertainment are usually so damn good. But I am slightly confused on where he sits. Maybe he just hates all politics. Which I can’t really blame him for.
Yup. Parallels are obvious. Both scarred by events in their childhood then grows up and does evil things so they can get revenge to someone who did them bad from the past. And they want us to sympathize with them?! They want to rationalize murder because childhood trauma?!
Reva could have gotten to the exact same position she was by being calm cool and calculating, like all the other inquisitors. But she went with yelling and screaming like a teenager
Prequel choreography was great - combining jedi reflexes and prediction with swordplay was a great idea... problem here is something Shadiversity mentioned - they don't actually use prequel choreography, they use little bits and pieces of it and add other parts themselves, and a lot of the positions and swings are actually really bad. I noticed this my first watchthrough, too, there are a couple of incredibly slow/wide swings, as well as a backhanded grip... both concepts are lethally bad during real swordplay.
back handed grip is not detrimental to light sabers as you dont have to worry about edge alignment. however its also just not something you can do and expect to work as the angle of motion for the blade is significantly reduced. but wide swings are something that you just shouldnt do with a light saber. i get that it makes for a more Cinematic action scene but that can take away from the feel of the fight .
Fr on the backhanded grip... recently I watched some sequel duels. Bruh, the backhand works great for Ashoka when she has two smaller blades and is more agile (the cartoon medium improving the aesthetic) but then they make Kylo Ren use it with his discount medieval-sword lightsaber and it just looks so dumb
backhanding a sword is always idiotic. it's doubly idiotic to do it with a sword that's primarily designed for slashing. The only benefit you will ever get from backhanding is it lets you stab harder... that's it. For anything longer than a dagger all you're doing is throwing away any speed or reach advantage you may have, and getting nothing in return. When doing it with a light saber you're more likely to cut your own hand off then do any damage to your opponent, because you basically can't move your wrist while doing it... The people who currently choreograph Star Wars have never held a sword in their lives, that's just so painfully obvious... i don't care how much they do it in the animated kids shows, doing it in live action does nothing but make the fight look amateur if you know absolutely anything about the mechanics of an actual sword fight
I love how only Top Tier Jedi's can heal from such stabs from a Lightsaber and some need robotic repairs but nah a Youngling survived getting stabbed by Darth Vader!!!! 🗿
Obi-Wan: "Be mindful Anakin, you're being too aggressive. Jedi are suppose to defend life, not take it." Anakin: "That's true Master, but Jedi are also suppose to end conflict quickly so that peace can be restored. Isn't that right Master?" I think this dialogue would've worked better to show Anakin's impatience without making him look like a murderer in waiting.
Reminds me of the expanded universe novels almost always had a scene if he was in it to remind us he becomes EVUL eventually. So in fairness this isn't a new problem.
Would make sense as when in ep 2 tried to convince padme that the jedy were all about loving and he could be with her as long as he didn't get attached
I met someone who says we can't judge the series until it's over and they stoll have one episode to be good. A good ending doesn't fix the rest of the story.
:) That someone who says we can't judge the series until it's over was groomed by someone who wants us to pay for all those shitty shows they make. But I say if it smells like shite it probably is shite
@@achaudhari101 Not really. You need a good beginning to build on; it's okay to be a little shaky, but you'll need to add suports later in the middle. If the middle is weak and the beginning is shaky, you run into trouble at the end. Your roof doesn't have much to stand on. A roof doesn't make a house. Actually making a good ending is usually where stories fall apart. Writing a story isn't a simple get to Point Z from Point A. You need each part to build on and support what comes before and what comes after, otherwise you get a disjointed mess (see the sequel trilogy). Endings you need to clean up story threads and while maintaining the tone and feel.

Funny how they have a full scene of Obi-Wan kneeling to Reeeeva but when Reeeva was asked to kneel before Vader they only did an upper body shot not showing her kneel at all. Can't have strong whamen kneeling before a man now can we?
Yeah he lost me there also. But I did hear he's left leaning. Also on Twitter it's really bad. I kept watching his videos because he didnt bring those views here but it looks like he's slipping it in.
It's less the blade going in that does the most damage; it's the blade coming out that rips another, more vicious wound that tends to kill a stabbing victim by blood loss. Leaving the blade in, depending on location, is the better option for most cases... BUT - The lightsaber is a Vorporal Blade (old school D&D style = crit kills anything/Jedi - wizard dual classed bard = every roll can be rerolled into instant crit * yes I'm aware that arguable signature ability is from later editions) It can cut through EVERYTHING. In a heartbeat. There is NO WAY that someone who was trained in a militaristic order to swordfight, who also expressly wants to "show no mercy" who also, also knows that said blade can cut through anything; would choose not to simply lift the blade upward and cleave half her body in two in order to finish the dang job. Stabbing her once as a kid, fine and fair enough she might survive. Leaving someone you apparently always knew wanted to kill you, alive after you copy-pasta'd the original wound that made her want to kill you... No one sane, trained or sentient would do that. Not with his clearly stated mindset.
But you forget that Reva probably was born with a condition later name "Ray Palpatine syndrome" (the ability to self heal and learn any other ability to its maximum perfection even when one did not know that ability even existed!)
**One** of the signs of force sensitivity is an unusual skill with machinery, yes. But it's not the only one, nor is it universal. And she doesn't display any such skill in the movies, not any more than anyone else anyway.
Matt Walsh is 10X+ the writer that these Disney people are. The Disney writers are noobs and not very creative. Why won't Disney hire some legitimate writing talent? There are hundreds of talented science fiction writers out there.
I didn’t quite get that comment about Walsh either? He’s a great writer, debater and talk show host who isn’t afraid of these woke morons at Disney, ruining every popular IP? What’s this dudes problem towards Matt?
Drawing that comparison had me scratching my head too, and I’m all for differences in opinions, but JSG has had a few strange takes in recent months. That one reference is what earns this video a thumbs down from me. JSG’s obsessive hatred for conservatives is about as confusing as the writers for Disney Star Wars being hired.
good writers don't blindly follow orders from producers, the do silly things like insist a story makes sense or that characters actually have a reason to exist within a story. This makes in impossible for people like Kevin Feige or Kathleen Kennedy to force their self inserts and their clumsy political pandering into a script. So Disney has decided it's cheaper and less of a headache to just stop hiring writers altogether... they have plenty of interns who will be happy to work for nothing but the title...
Was looking for this comment. Unsubbed from him because of this ridiculous comment in the video. Even if he doesn't agree with Walsh, the writing is not comparable not even same genre
15:00 Deborah Chow also forgot Vader's legs and feet are robotic.. Reva's shin would have snapped when he stomped it, which would definitely have kept her on the ground... one of the big problems with the show. It's all so cheap. He would have just killed her, I know I wanted him to. But he can't because of three letters haunting this production.
Why they didn’t hire different directors like in Mando, is baffling? She was completely out of her depth in this series, especially with subpar writers.

@@woebringer7884 Couldn’t agree more. Being black, the illogical bias against conservatism is just par for the course. I would imagine that at the very least would be agnostic to inherent political bias. Unfortunately that’s not the case, and you can tell it was added in there unauthentically.
My problem with the lightsabers is they're being used like clubs. They're nearly weightless plasma swords that can melt steel doors but Disney seems to think they're electric batons!
Writing, story is bad, the best scenes are with Darth Vader, but it would have made more sense for Reva to flee from the Jedi temple and get picked up along the way rather than get stabbed through. Also I never understood why she was so hell bent on getting Obi Wan personally when there's no scene of them prior to the show. She's basically a holocaust survivor turned Naz* hating another holocaust survivor, for not dying during the holocaust.
Her point is so stupid too. Obi-Wan wasn’t ignoring Order 66. He was ending a war and then Order 66 happened. He went back to Coruscant as soon as possible.
Gotta love how this episode also ruins the ending of both Rogue One (when the Tantive manages to get away from Vader and takes off to Tatooine to go get Obi-Wan) and Empire Strikes Back (when the Falcon flies away from Vader’s Super Star Destroyer The Executor) clearly displaying that there was indeed something Vader could’ve done in both instances to prevent our heroes escape and just didn’t, for no real reason.
Not to mention, during the Death Star trench run in ANH, Vader could have just Force-moved Luke’s X-Wing (and all the others) into one of the side walls and ended the rebel attack instantly.

Not even real diversity, but just a bunch of different skin colors on humans. You have an entire galaxy of alien life but nah we need black women and gay they/them humans. Where's my fish people? Where's humanoid reptilians? Where are the lithoids? No where, because that would be an actually diverse group in the story.
Reva have 3 stomach bruhhh She lost one when she was a youngling at the Jedi temple. Now she lost her second. Last episode Reva will die because no extra stomach left.
few things to mention 1) I think Vader hides his identity out of self-loathing and the fact that after all his atrocities he no longer sees himself as Anakin. As a result very few people know who he is. e.g. palatine, Luke, Thrawn might of hinted at it, Asoka, that one stormtrooper who saw his face and was instantly killed by Vader, his doctor, that crazy nurse who got killed by Vader etc. It wasn't until Luke, the one of the last remaining pieces of Anakin and his love of Padmei, was being electrocuted did Anakin come back, briefly so when Ahsoka knocked some sense in to him. tl;dr after everything he's done he hates himself so much that he doesn't want to be known as Anakin. 2) that to thought that Vader was so eager to catch obi wan that by the time the other ship left, it caught up with him and just went "ah well the destroyer will catch it." 3) if I was directing it it would basically be about obi-wan and Vader learning about the force. Obi-Wan goes to dagoba to learn and commune with Yoda and Qui-Gon Jin while Vader is forced to jump though Palpatine's hoops and becomes more and more powerful and blood-hungry with very slight from Palpatine's, all the attempts on his life, discovery of sith artefacts, temples, books and for his hate for obi wan for obvious reasons, and as the episode goes on we see the similarities and differences in the light and Darkside.
Yeah, I couldn't agree more. IF Vader and Obi Wan were going to fight AT ALL in this series, and that is a BIG if, it needed to be at the very end after AT LEAST a season of setting it up and building suspense and ending in a way where Vader reasonably believed Obi Wan to be dead or at least too severely wounded to remain an obvious threat. Throwing it at us practically right out of the gate AND having it end so unresolved and unsatisfactoryily is the sort of lazy writing and set up you'd see in a Middle School fanfic...
@@BertoxolusThePuzzled thats what I was going for i don't mind them meeting early in but it must have impact and show the difference between when they first and last giving the line "once I was the learner now I am the master" mean more as you can have vader losses but slowly learn more from his defeats

You know, there was a comic about an alien that wanted revenge on Vader because Vader had slaughtered his people. He became a bounty hunter, becoming good enough in the hopes to work for Vader, which is a ruse to get close to Vader. He arrived 'late' to the meeting in 'Empire'. He had used the years training for his one chance to get Vader. Not only that, he had tactics prepared against a Force user. He became a Cyborg, a living weapon for this one chance if it comes. And he actually damages Vader's armour and nearly kills him. He came extremely close. But Vader reads his mind, finds out his story and how to shut down his cybernetics. He quickly kills him and goes to fix his armour, pondering about a being that had lost his family and became more machine than man. The point? This guy used every bit of knowledge about Vader he could get his hands on, spends years to find ways to counter Vader's abilities and only fails because of something he didn't know. Reva had years to learn Vader's capabilities first hand and thinks she is a match for him? She would have had a better chance killing Vader by taking over the bridge of his Star Destroyer and flying it into the next sun. She could have faked finding Kenobi or Yoda, luring Vader to a place with enough explosives to level a continent. And so on. She could have done this years ago with a lot less killing of innocent people.

What exactly is JSG's political viewpoint? Is this guy a closet leftist? Pro-ghey? I heard one time he indirectly defended "The Cuties" which raised my eyebrow, so I have thoughts that this guy is secretly a ₱ΣDΘ
It is actually clear why Vader would hide that info, at least if anything from the expanded universe is still going to be butchered for canon. He hates the fact that anyone knows he's Anakin Skywalker, he hates his own last name with a burning passion, and he's killed people for just saying it, while he was interrogating them and they were giving him correct intel.
When Jocasta Nu mentioned his name he threw multiple clones out of the shuttle they where in and they fell to their deaths. But that only matters if you care for trivial things like continuity and canon. After all no REAL Star Wars fan would question a STRONG WHAMAN OF COLOR especially if she has braids.
@@joeclaridy The thing Vader hates most in the Galaxy is himself. In the extended universe that Disney killed he says that directly when fighting a clone of Darth Maul. When Vader begins to overpower the clone, Maul asks him "what can you hate enough to destroy me?" Vader answers " myself".
Lets talk the fact the mega plothhole is that obi thougth anakin was death, one he knew he was being called vader in ep 3. If he thougth he was dead the why the heck try and train luke? Why be so secretive about the twins? It can be so the emperor dosn't get them but it would been easier to take them both to dagobah with yoda to train if that was the case.
But Reva DOES come across as sympathetic... to women just like her. All her misdeeds are justified as long as it serves as a means to her self serving ends. Can't apply logic to an illogical scenario.
So her way of getting revenge against vader for killing jedi was for her to join a bunch of jedi killers… right that makes sense how many jedi has she killed in the last 10 years as a inquisitor
Besides Anakin not sensing she was still alive, pretty sure the clone troopers were going around double tapping the jedi making sure they were dead. Sidious is a cruel bastard and would make sure they were dead. The clones were very through in their work.

The scenes with Vader, it is honestly like we were seeing a battle raging behind the scenes, between a true fan of Vader who wanted what he could do finally properly demonstrated, and the idiots who couldn't figure what the frag they wanted long enough to write a tenth descent script. When the True Fan is in charge, you see awe inspiring moments you only ever heard about Vader being capable of. Snatching ships and slapping them down, having such contempt for an opponent that he won't even bother using his lightsaber on them, etc. But then the idiots take charge and Vader just stares at the second ship like he stared at the Millennium Falcon leave Hoth Base. I guess because it happened then, they thought it made sense that it happened here to, except you just barely demonstrated what Vader could do and gave him NO REASON NOT TO DO IT AGAIN! Let me fix this scene really quick, because as a True Fan of Vader, I can do this in my spare time right before I go to bed. Tala doesn't die stupidly, but disappears off screen as people flood onto one of the ships. As Vader slaps down one of the ships and the other one attempts an escape and Vader then grabs it, realizing he's being tricked, that's when Reva attacks him from behind, thinking in this moment, while Vader is attempting to grab the ship, he could be momentarily weak, and that he'd be unwilling to let go of the one thing he wants most, revenge on Obi Wan Kenobi. Simple, straightforward ambush that actually has a chance at working and a very good reason for Reva to wait so long to strike. But Vader is OP and he contemptuously continues to drag the second ship down while still blocking Reva even as she screams with all her rage as she attempts to force the blade closer, only for nothing to happen. Enter Tala. Tala throws her detonator at Vader and in that moment there is a split second as Vader identifies the threat, realizes he can't let go of Reva's lightsaber to block it, so he lets go of the ship and catches the detonator mid detonation. Yes, Vader can do this, because he HAS done it in comics that are canon (seriously, the comics of Vader's quest to get his lightsaber as a Sith is actually really good, I highly recommend it.) As Vader is holding this explosion still with the force and still holding Reva back Tala whips out her blaster to start shooting at Vader only for him to blast the explosion of the detonator back at her, sending her flying backward, badly mauled from the explosion, probably dead, but not confirmed. Then Vader sends Reva flying backward with a massive force push only to turn around and try to grab the second ship again only to realize it is to far gone and NOW he stares after it, only when there is nothing he can do. Reva attacks him again and we see this fight play out pretty much as normal, except with all the goofy parts where Reva and Vader aren't even trying to hit each other removed. Seriously, how did THOSE make the final cut. That's where my edit ends, but Holy Terra, I think that fixes a lot of what was wrong with that final scene and it took me a grand total of 13 minutes to write and I'm not considered a "Professional," I'm just a dedicated fan who is doing this right before I'm going to bed. Fragging Terra Disney, who did you pay to mess up so much good stuff? Was Kathleen on set to mandatorily screw things up whenever they got just a little to good for her to be comfortable? Ya know... I wouldn't actually have difficulty believing that.
Much better. Which makes me wonder about who the hell is in charge & why do they accept such incompetence. Maybe if they looked into Vader's style of management & start killing their subordinates who f'ck up, quality would improve.
What a great scene this would have been. I get the feeling the writers wanna show how awesome Vader is, but are afraid that he gets to awesome and sabotage him at the last minute

Didn't they have a stormtrooper get shot and then fall onto an energy beam that cut him in two earlier in the show?

The really weird thing is that their strategy seems to be both working and failing:
- it's working because the "normies" seem to be starting to accept that this is it for Star Wars: yet another franchise turned into the ultra-consumable Disney fluff that's the movie/series equivalent of elevator music.
That's what happens when you ignore people whom are willing to pay for those that haven't paid yet
The question will be toys. Toys always made most of the money, not the movies. Do modern kids want Star Wars toys for Christmas? If they do not, the franchise will die off, but if they do, it will continue.

just like how all Obi wan's burns were all magically better the next episode, I mean Vader only needed a full life support system suit to deal with his.

Will had to head over to Shad to see his, umm, cut on the sword fighting.
back handed grip is not detrimental to light sabers as you dont have to worry about edge alignment. however its also just not something you can do and expect to work as the angle of motion for the blade is significantly reduced. but wide swings are something that you just shouldnt do with a light saber. i get that it makes for a more Cinematic action scene but that can take away from the feel of the fight .
Yeah Ewan said that the sabers are thicker and heftier than the old prequel ones. Thus affecting saber play
backhanding a sword is always idiotic. it's doubly idiotic to do it with a sword that's primarily designed for slashing.

Bully-talking to existing fans and potential customers has been a marketing and business fail for decades.
Obi-Wan: "Be mindful Anakin, you're being too aggressive. Jedi are suppose to defend life, not take it."
Anakin: "That's true Master, but Jedi are also suppose to end conflict quickly so that peace can be restored. Isn't that right Master?"
I think this dialogue would've worked better to show Anakin's impatience without making him look like a murderer in waiting.

Not with his clearly stated mindset.

good writers don't blindly follow orders from producers, the do silly things like insist a story makes sense or that characters actually have a reason to exist within a story. wanted him to. But he can't because of three letters haunting this

That's a good catch. He would have done a lot of damage.
@@joshcasper3690 Yep. Not to mention he broke her saber in half. Then after they leave it's miraculously back together again. Like I said. Cheap.
Why they didn’t hire different directors like in Mando, is baffling? She was completely out of her depth in this series, especially with subpar writers.
Lol. I’m not Matt Walsh’s biggest fan but that joke didn’t land. You gotta do better than that.
He didn't set any related context to Matt Walsh, therefore the line comes out of nowhere and sounds forced.
@@YogGroove seems like something that made sense to the creator. Context is how you kill a joke...so I don't blame him for that part. Probably would have been better if it had been edited out.
Ya, and Matt’s actually a really GOOD writer. JSG seems to hate conservatives for whatever reason, while simultaneously having a very similar world view. And I’d bet he would never recognize that FACT let alone acknowledge it. At some point, reality is going to converge on his biases and he’ll probably resist for the usual stupid reasons (ignorance). Its kind of sad and pathetic…
@@woebringer7884 disagree. It doesn't matter though. I really dislike the politicization of nerd space.
You lost me with the Matt Walsh comment, his points are always well tough out .
They will just make these movies non-canon. Problem solved.
Not to mention, during the Death Star trench run in ANH, Vader could have just Force-moved Luke’s X-Wing (and all the others) into one of the side walls and ended the rebel attack instantly.
@@GeorgeCoghill Oh sh*t, I didn’t even think of that, but yeah you’re right. OMG these episodes/shows/movies just keep getting worse and worse and worse with each new entry.
@@GeorgeCoghill Can he do it through the walls of his own ship without damaging it?
@@Сайтамен why not? he's using an intangible power inherently part of the very fabric of the universe?
and yes, that really is world breaking levels of arbitrary power, so this is another example of why you really need hard limits on a magic system if you intend to use it as a problem solving tool
They could have had Vader try to get the other ship , but THEN Reva strikes at Vader, so he is both holding the second ship and holding back an attack on Reva, but the writers aren't getting paid for good writing.
Time to be triggered over that Matt Walsh dig.
Really though, he's one of the better politically active commentators/conservatives. He's actually doing effective work and he largely practices what he preaches.

I remember when I used to admire writers and how talented one must have to be in order to be a writer for a major Hollywood studio. Needless to say I no loner think that. It obviously takes zero talent and/no intelligence to write these days. If you can write your name correctly... congratulations you can write for Disney. Disney has one care and one care only... check of all the diversity boxes. Nothing else matters. Good story?? Pfff.. we got diversity.
There neither writers, directors , or actors in Hollywood anymore.
There are only ideologs, activists, and diversity hires.
It’s a built in shield for criticism, and there are enough people willing to defend them on that basis. It’s annoyingly viable.
Wow. The Matt Walsh slam was a little gratuitous.
Turns out Riva had two stomachs the whole time! The depth, the lore lol
Reva have 3 stomach bruhhh
She lost one when she was a youngling at the Jedi temple. Now she lost her second.
Last episode Reva will die because no extra stomach left.
Matt Walsh, really guy! 😒
few things to mention
1) I think Vader hides his identity out of self-loathing and the fact that after all his atrocities he no longer sees himself as Anakin.
2) that to thought that Vader was so eager to catch obi wan that by the time the other ship left, it caught up with him and just went "ah well the destroyer will catch it."
3) if I was directing it it would basically be about obi-wan and Vader learning about the force.

Matt Walsh is a prick however he is correct on a lot of things.
Matt Walsh could have written a more compelling story.
Written by Matt Walsh...? More political jabs?...Why? Did his documentary hit that much of a raw nerve that you couldn't resist?
What exactly is JSG's political viewpoint? Is this guy a closet leftist? Pro-ghey? I heard one time he indirectly defended "The Cuties" which raised my eyebrow, so I have thoughts that this guy is secretly a ₱ΣDΘ
It’s ALWAYS cool to clown on tools who believe that they’re smart while they say, with a straight face, the stupidest shit in the world. That’s why.
Leia spent the whole damn episode chilling, trying to fix the door. Meanwhile, people are being gunned down by the empire.
Why does he hate the name Skywalker?
Yeah but how does Obi Wan know that 🤔?

JSG has an issue with conservative politics/politicians, so he makes a dig at them in nearly every video. Super cringe and whiny behavior
Is Ingram still "Acting her ass off", as you said a few weeks ago, JSG? Stupid plot, stupid characters, stupid actions, stupid plans.
Yes she did xD just screammmmm = good acting
Stupid does take a lot of acting energy. It's certainly very tiresome to watch.
The background footage used in this video was so intelligent - like I genuinely love how the footage played in the background sometimes had an associated iconic line that complimented what he was saying. Mad respect for that.

His force choke was on cooldown when the second ship left bro 😂😂🤦🏾♂️
I'm glad it wasn't just me who couldn't figure out how the hell Reeeva's plan was supposed to work. The main plan of the main character, the crux of the whole show, makes no goddamn sense at all. What a perfect representation of disney star wars.
HELLA BETTER.
