I am a tinkerer and 3D printer. When I saw the Cam Wipe on your video I was instantly impressed and jealous that I hadn't thought of it myself.I bought one and installed it. Works great. I'm thoroughly impressed.
Hi James, I totally agree, it’s so good because it’s so simple and once you have seen it you really can’t think why Kia didn’t come up with the idea? Keep an eye on Eldar as he could well be Sweden’s answer to the UK’s James Dyson (that isn’t you is it?) Regards Peter
Hi Theo, Totally agree and only too pleased to make more Niro drivers aware of it. Like most things in life the simple answer is the best, but discovering it in the first place is the tricky bit, so hats off to Eldar.👍
Thanks. I reckon that device will *eventually* cause some scratching damage to the camera lens cover plastic. Especially so in winter with salt and grit deposits. It my be fine for quite a while but surely with frequent rear wiper use it will slowly degrade the lens window surface??
Hi ThePrawlin, If you look in the description part of the video (I really should remember to mention this in the actual video) you will find the short letter Eldar emailed to me about it and actually mentioned some might have these concerns, but his actual real world experience there was none. I am happy ‘to risk it’ as when one actually thinks about the number of times the rear wiper actually activates it is very few times, only when the front wipers are on and reverse is selected or when the rear wiper is actively turned on... PLUS.. The reversing camera lens will be at least damp if not actually very wet giving lubrication to the real actively soft nylon bristles. No where near to the time one spends brushing your teeth and I don’t worry about that. But everyone has the option to fit it or not, the garage salesman was very impressed when I told him about it.
I agree, water not the problem it’s the dried on dirt during winter that’s the problem, they never show if the bristles get wet when you use the rear washers
Yes I have one and they are great. So what do Kia do on the later Kia Niro EV yes they have moved the camera down by the rear number plate to get really dirty lower down. And yes EV6 has no rear wiper??????????????? While on this Y do Kir fit none adjustable screen washer jets on front screen??
Hi Rolf. It was the first place I went after fitting it and it has ‘survived’ many since, I think This should be added to my “I forgot” video which is getting longer all the time. 🙂🙂

Someone else had posted a similar video a few short weeks ago. I bought one for my Niro. It is such a brilliant idea. He should sell this idea to Kia

I've just ordered one thanks to your video. I didn't know it was a thing. Thank you
Bought recently one, very happy with this brilliant idea. Congratulations for the inventor ¡
I bought one for my Niro a few weeks ago, and yes it’s fantastic! 👍
Hi Ray,
Eldar has come up with a wonderful gadget, so simple but perfect at the same time.
Hopefully he will do very well from his invention.
Great idea, a bit disconcerting if you reverse with the wiper running as the brush runs across the lens.
I bought one. It is excellent for doing its job.
Stephen,
I totally agree..
Spot on just bought one
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your kind comment Haydn.
I’m really enjoying producing these videos and spreading the good word about the Kia eNiro.
a fantastic product works perfect👍
