      I live in Canada. In Canada and the US, the trunk is called a trunk not a boot, and the front trunk was called the frunk when Telsa introduced theirs in the Model S when it lanched. Nobody here calls it a boot, or a froot. You are allowed to call it whatever you want based on your country and language and I respect that, but in return you should respect other people's rights, culture, language, etc. This is not the first time you post this kind of comment, nor is the first time you comment about the way I speak, or my accent. If you don't like the way I speak, or pronounce things, or make videos, or anything else, feel free to stop watching my channel and unsubscribe. Thank you.

      @h8GW 2 года назад +1

      Yes, but calling it a froot is even worse -and the word is already taken.- Also, you can't portmanteau boot with bonnet.
      So *frunk* it is, and *frunk* it will be. Perhaps you should focus your attention instead on those Brits who use "elevator" as their word or choice.

    I imported and fitted my Frunk back in May when I got my E Niro 4+ I always use public chargers as I don’t have the facility of charging at home, and the Frunk is ideal for storing my type 2 (Menekes) cable without the need for lifting the hatch in the boot (trunk) as I also have a full size boot (trunk) liner. The material that the frunk tray is made from, is most probably either LDPE, (low density polyethylene) or HDPE, (high density polyethylene). The melting point of LDPE, is 105-135°C or 221-275°F. And the melting point of HDPE, is between 130°C-171°C or 266°F-340°F. So I think it’s safe, as it’s not in direct contact with the metal housing.

    Dear EV olution. Thank you for this information about the front boot or Frunk. I have bought one today. I have also sent a small thank you, so you can buy a coffee. I have a question for you about the rear boot (or trunk as you might call it) In the British version of hte EV niro there is a raised base, under which there is a styrofoam circle and three peices of plastic. If you unscrew these, the floor drops down, giveing more head space for our Black Labrador. The base of the trunk, does not then form a tight fit. In Norwegian models the base of the trunk is already lowered and there is a purpose built floor.
    Question.... Would you know where I would be able to purchase on of these lower floor covers. Speak soon.... Kind regards Andrew

    It looks great, but some KIA dealers in the Netherlands don't want to see this. While charging the ac/dc converter (unit under the plastic cover) heats up till 54 degree. There's is no active cooling like other EV's. What will be temperature if you install this frunk?

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution 3 года назад

      I don't know what temperatures it hits when charging, but the Niro EV will use the liquid cooling system that includes the radiator and fan to cool everything down. Also to note, many people have been using the frunk in eNiros for about 2 years without issues.

    • @EV-olution

      This is something that you would have to ask your local dealer. Please note that this is simply replacing a plastic beauty cover using the same factory mounting points, and if there were any issues with your car Kia would have to prove that the Frunk was the cause. I really don't see how it could cause a problem unless you put too much weight in it. So I recommend you ask your local dealer.

      I was going to, but after almost 3 years of ownership of the Niro EV I sold it and bought an EV6. What I can tell you is that the Frunk was amazing and not once did I ever have water or dirt in it, even after driving a couple of hours in a mild hurricane. I still highly recommend the Frunk.at product even though I don't have it anymore. I was surprised at how useful it was, especially on vacations where I would use it to store stuff we bought.

  • @computerbob06

    I was wondering why Kia didn't fit one and was thinking it might be because of the lack of heat dissipation. Is that a line of holes I can see in the underside of the frunk moulding? If they are there, I guess that's why the net and compartment separator are there too?
    Is it not also a modification you need to tell your insurance/lease company about?

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution 3 года назад

      There are no holes in the Frunk unit, the anti-slip mat makes it look that way. I am not really concerned with heat flow, many people in Europe have been using the Frunk for 1 to 2 years with no issues. Also to note, the new Ioniq 5 and EV6 have a frunk and are even more closed up under the hood.

      The Model 3 is a totally different car, that is similar to asking why not get a Honda Accord instead of a Chevy Trailblazer.
