One of my favorite places Belize, went right after Hurricane Katrina on a cruise, the devastation broke my heart but the water and the people of Belize were beautiful! A lot of sadness but the natives were upbeat and gracious in a time of peril and uncertainty! They showed me and my wife that you can overcome just about anything and how life is short! You just have to continue moving on with grace and gratitude! God Bless ya'll Belize!

I am always amazed at how easily you can all hold your breath for extended periods of time underwater. I know it's about cardio and practice, but it's still incredible.
It's also about mental discipline and swimming technique. I did some free diving as a teenager, by 12th grade I could stay under more than 3 minutes in shallow water on a regular basis and go down 20 meters (about 65 feet) with no diving equipment whatsoever. Learning how to stay calm and move efficiently underwater with the least amount of effort is essential i.m.o., maybe even more important than overall physical fitness.
