These breeder boxes work good. I prefer the BL-2 model as it has a solid acrylic bottom. When doing water changes, it will still hold about 1” of water. This allows you to drain the tank past the breeder box and do larger water changes.

Are the holes on this small enough to keep danio fry and corydoras fry from escaping?

I've never tried either of those in this breeder box but I'm pretty confident they wouldn't be able to escape.

I would like to find out if the bottom stainless mess is removable- lets say like for egg scattering fish, but the black plastic part remains on the box itself

Not sure how you water change the tank if that’s at the top ?

Small water changes but honestly if you want to really breed a lot of fish you need other grow out tanks.
