@@jbd579 Throwing elbows? I miss the days of mosh etiquette. Maybe it's just the area I live in, but pits used to be the shit. There was a real sense of comradery in the pits. Shoving but no punches, always picking people up when they trip or fall, stopping the pit when a phone or article of clothing gets lost, etc. Recently, I've noticed people don't give a fuck about the those around them. They start windmilling, getting into scuffles with individuals, taking up space swinging/kicking randomly into the air. It's rude as fuck and gives way to injury.
I understand those who enter the pit do so with the acceptance of possible injury, but it's not a contest to see how many people you can fuck up before the end of the show.

    • @jbd579
      @jbd579 5 лет назад +1

@@Ceabrus74 Agreed, was just the visual I had of her entering the pit since that is how most modern pits are. It used to be all slam dancing and now it is more like face stomping.

@@jbd579 Now that I think of it, the genre also has a lot to do with it. The Misfits concert that I went to had a lot of overly aggressive people, however, whenever I go see Clutch or Down the pit tends to be more music oriented rather than being focused on violence. Different types of fans in general.
Anyway, have yourself a good one and good luck at the next show you attend.

Pantera had set out to make music that was specifically more aggressive, and harsher in tone than what came before them. If I remember correctly, the singer (Phil) explained that this song was aimed at two-faced friends who spoke smack behind his back while smiling in his face.

My Son was 3 years old and he used to sing this out loud. Haha. Hes 26 now. I miss my baby boy.
Phil says this song was about how his friends started treating him after the band became popular. How they would take shit about him now that he was famous. He just wanted his friends to treat him the same.

Also by Pantera: Cemetery Gates (from early in their career, and you can really hear Phil's vocal range in it as well), This Love, Domination, Five Minutes Alone, Slaughtered...in their career with each new album they got progressively more heavy and brutal with their musical attack without truly changing their style or selling out to get the fans that they had. Truly an amazing band. Love their music. Glad y'all gave them a listen.

Essentially to surround yourself with people who are in fact genuine. The message is still positive, even when it's being conveyed in a more aggressive manner. The aggressiveness just drives the point home. Always been a huge fan of Pantera, I love how blunt they are. Thank you ladies for the reaction to this metal anthem. Pantera were easily the heaviest band to ever top billboard charts. That could only happen in the 90s.

Why 'Awakening' though, every reaction channel does that one, there are so many better Unleash the Archers songs.
Tonight We Ride is a far superior song in vocal range and song composition. Also...
      Test Your Metal
      Time Stands Still
      Cleanse the Bloodlines
      The Matriarch
      The Path Unsought
      Dawn of Ages
      General of the Dark Army

@@davedagreat69 I'd say that Hangar 18 and Holy Wars are on par. They're both great songs and equally great imo.

@@Charles-Anthony Each to their own I guess, Hanger 18 is a great track but it's very simplistic. I would definitely put Tornado of Souls and Holy Wars ahead of it. I think Hanger 18 and Lucretia are on a similar level to each other, simple songs with loads of solos.

Most metal music has positive messages as a matter of fact. Metal, although is usually musically dark and sophisticated; with generally dark themes, but between the lines it’s conceptually a force of light and enlightenment.

The most memorable thing I remember when it comes to Pantera is when I listened to the song "Domination" from the "Cowboys of Hell" album over 20 years ago. That song had the heaviest breakdown I ever experienced before. I was at a friends home, I turned the volume and bass at MAX, and we both banged the shit out of our heads. Until his mom came in screaming: Turn that shit down, my fucking head explodes! Fun times
