Dad and Son together, that’s the trophy! So in my eyes they had a successful hunt!
Agree. That is why I waited so long to burn my points.
Matthew is the perfect companion for you on this kind of trip Randy. He never gets very excited, and keeps you grounded.
"Sorry to sound like your mother." 🤣
Dads just can't help watching out for their children, regardless if those children are now adults - that's what makes great Dads special! So awesome to see father and son hunting together!!
Your narration is always so calming, reassuring and interesting. Exactly why I have followed you all these years.... that and the unrivaled scenery that you capture of our Western United States. The Rocky Mtns., it's foothills and the high desert that surrounds them to name a few of the ridiculously gorgeous places you get to hunt.
Good to see you in my state. Wow, I can’t believe that it took you 25 years to get a tag. I guess that is because you are out of state hunters and Utah does have a high population of pronghorns.
Love to see a father and a son hunt. Those are memories that the two of you can talk about for a long time. Good luck tomorrow!
Thanks for sharing.
Father and son back at it again!! Love it. I love hunting with my sons, it's always a successful hunt that way. Good luck tomorrow Randy, Happy hunting from your friendly northern AZ hunter.
Thanks. And thanks for watching.
Nice. My buddy did his first hunt ever this year and got a pronghorn tag down in 9 mile and took him on his bow, stalking and solo. I was very impressed!
40 years for a tag in Utah sounds about right....
Not to be the turd here but I drew my second year not a trophy unit but still fun in the ol book cliffs
I tell you what I really appreciate the information you give your viewers I see pronghorns every day after work over here in the Texas panhandle they want an arm and a leg and the first pick of your labradoodle litter and I don’t have a labradoodle so I guess I’ll pay the 2800 dollar going rate for one. Thanks guys for what you do
Thanks for watching.
$2800 is probably still way less than 40 years worth of preference points!!!!!!!
I hunted a mediocre archery pronghorn unit in utah this year with 2 points as a new resident. and saw some HUGE bucks. Ended up shooting a little one but it was a good hunt
Many many years ago in Montana. Tagged a pronghorn 25 hours before season end. We are all lined up at the food processor. This girl, takes orders checks my trunk and yells full lungs: "WHO SHOT BAMBI???",
WTF! Shame on me!!!
y'all are an hour away from me, I live right below the Utah border in Page Az. I've been passing the time to my hunt next week by watching your vids.
What a start to a great hunt I can tell. Matthew and Randy hunting together... I can't wait!
Hope it is worth the time to watch it.
@@Fresh_Tracks Always is no matter the outcome...
Randy, i watched this video in bed woth my 5 year old daughter. We are both under the weather amd it was nice to get some cuddles with my hunting buddy and watch something new. She cant be convinced that matthew is your son, she thinks since he is taller he must be your dad. Cant wait for the next episode.
That's funny. Hope you both get feeling better.
Wow! I'm glad you guys finally got an opportunity to go out there!
Me too.
Ive seen enough episodes with Matthew to know that if he's excited about a critter it must be a whopper! Good luck fellas...
Holy smokes Randy no denying Matt as your son hes just a younger version of you good luck to you both . At one time we both worked at the same saw mill in gardnerville 🕊🙏😇
That's good to hear. Few folks even know the sawmill was there. Hope to see you some day when I'm in Douglas County.
I think I like watching Randy more than meat eater now . Seems like pretty down to earth fella keep up the good work !
Thanks for watching.
In Nevada, I find antalope in the trees up higher (6,500-9,000) quite often. I know of a place that has a big 8,500 plateau with 100's antalope running around up there until cooler weather hits in October, then they drop to benches off the top. Northern Washoe County, higher up on the plateaus there is a lot of antalope too, and they run around in the mahogany all day long. Guess I am giving away secrets lol. I just think outside the box of antalope out on flats, and valleys all day.
I shot a B&C Nevada buck at 8,500'. I couldn't believe he was up there. But I was happy to take him.
@Fresh_Tracks yeah, they are there acting 1/2 like mule deer. Eating, drinking, and bedding in the same places I have seen mules deer many times. It's like they are adapting to change and moving from areas they were for decades in the lower elevations.
I have been putting in for this same hunt for several years now. I probably drove right past your camp and didn't even know it.
You probably did, if you drove down the west side of the unit.
Big Hank, I like it.
Hope we find him.
I seen a monster of a buck bout month ago. Was biggest I seen on hoof.
40 years worth of points well spent. I'm glad that your Raptor pickup has worked out well for you over the years. Gotta be broke in by now. Will have to call your pickup Ol' Hank 😁
Randy who makes that tent your using?
Us old guys need our food.
Yall still there i live 3 minutes away from the state park
Not there now. This was in mid-September.
Scout them out for me Newbergs. I'm sitting on a bunch of Utah antelope points.
If you burn them next year, get in touch with me.
What bino harness are you wearing, Randy?
Looks like Sitka’s….
25 years of applying and no shooter bucks, welcome to utah, you should do our general rifle bull hunt!
Yet another Utah resident complaining about an excellent hunting state. Lived here 3 years so far and had nothing but great hunts on bad tags.
@@ZGADOW consider yourself a hunter that either is willing to do more than everyone else or is luckier than everyone else. I've seen guys have great hunts in Utah on bad tags but I've seen a common theme of bad hunts where they see more hunters than animals.
@@ZGADOW how many tags have you had in the 3 years you've lived here 😂
I moved to Utah from California and the hunting was way better in Utah.
There will be shooter bucks. We just need to learn the unit and work harder.
Randy least I know if we shared a hunting camp together we wouldn’t be arguing over the music being played!!!!
what spotting scope mount is that
Olin. So slick. Use Promo Code RANDY ad save some money - ollin.co/
That’s pretty much my back yard
Funny, how our children are they look at us like we’re fossil✌️✌️🙏
Aren't you allowed to camp in the unit?
Yes, you can camp out there. I wanted a central location to allow us to cover all of the unit.
@@Fresh_Tracks I'm in Australia and haven't got much of an idea how your system works, I just watch in envy of all the hunting opportunities you have.
Are tags transferrable between hunters?
No. Some states have options to return or donate your tag before the season starts though.
Not in Utah.
Is this 2022 or 2023 but awesome hunt
September 2023.
A Utah antelope tag isn't worth 25 years
Yep hunting show .Bad acting but nothing natural spontaneous. Get Marcus over, he is genuine.
