King Charles III extended the invitation to Harry and Meghan as a way of offering an olive branch to them to reconcile any damages on either party and to hopefully start off with a new slate. I really think that as a new era is dawning on the UK with the passing of the Queen, the new King wants to try to bring his family back together knowing that he, himself, doesn't have much time left before William ascends to the throne as the new King. The ball is in Meghans court now and we'll see from here how she will take it.
