+Lamp__Post It's because Phil is on a diet, and stuff like factory prop rods weigh too much. Sticks are free, and weigh literally nothing, as you just toss it when you need to close your hood.

Its actually because the jackson racing cold air induction box gets in the way of the stock bonnet propup stick, so he uses the nearest suitable stick.
I actually like that you're slowly making your videos more humorous.
Proud of Mazda for staying true to the Miata roots. Too many times car companies diverge from the heritage they established. No matter what Miata generation, they are great driver's cars.

+dmoney8766 Agreed. imho the MX-5/Miata SHOULD look feminine/cute because those features help to make it look very unique. There's nothing wrong with cars that look feminine nor is there anything wrong with driving them regardless of your own gender/sexuality/whatever, yet Mazda decided to make the new one look more masculine with those angry headlights. I won't argue whether or not that was a good decision, but I personally wish we could have kept the more feminine look because now the MX-5/Miata just looks like every other convertible on the market. If you put the new one side-by-side with something like a BMW Z4, anyone not into cars probably wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between the two.

When he said the new one resembled a Z4, the view it was at in that shot reminds me a lot more of a S2000.

It's taken twenty years, but Mazda finally improved on the original masterpiece. They engineered the new mx5 with the spirit intended by the original masterminds, and it's awesome!

The ND is a better car in every way, but theres just something about the NA that makes me like it the most. I'd want an NA over an ND.

I love both I got to drive both even though I am 14 (shhhhh don't tell anyone) because my neighbor has both and the NA is fun even thought the ND is better in every way. The NA just gives you a smile when driving while in the ND its like driving a new car and its just the same as almost any other car you see on the road. The NA feels like a really big go kart so that's the biggest reason why I love it.

My dad drove it too for a while,and sometimes when he pushed on the throttle,well,you know the push that you get when you're on an airplane taking off? It's not like that at all.

If Mazda stopped making the MX-5 in my mind driving would be a soulless and empty task. Henceforth I love the MX-5, it's the car that made me want to drive!

1: More parts for modding
2: Needs a real driver to drive it fast as the ND which controls its self if it loses control
3: Has that retro 80s charm
4: Easy to maintain, new cars need small lady hands to change a headlight bulb.
5: Who cares about how fast the roof goes down, I would prefer a hardtop NA on a MX-5

I have owned 2 MX5's a NC and later an NB.
I moved overseas and bought a VW Gti mk 7 which is an incredible car ! but at the end of the day, nothing satisfied me more than the the MX's ! all the little quirks make you love them more n more. Can't wait to drive/ own one again !

Great video. For the record, the lsd option on the NA does add a huge fun factor as a driver's car.
I really don't like the aggressive styling of the ND; it looks like every other car that is trying to appeal to the "basic bro". The MX5 is not a car for the basic bro.

Great fun! We owned a 1990 NA1 and now have a 2019 ND2 Gt-s. Love, love them both! You cracked me up when you mentioned the ND resembling the styling of BMW Z4, because that is the car we owned in between the NA and the ND. We found that the ND Gt-s has all of the fun of the NA paired with all the power and luxury of the Z4, but - and people are welcome to argue with this - we like the looks of the NA better than the Z4.

Excellent collaboration between you both. I love the MX5, never owned one, but because I've owned similar 90's roadsters (S2000) I totally understand this car. I've driven an NA and B, but never an ND before, but I can comment on the NA's raw feel vs. a more refined roadster. It's similar to when people compare the AP1 and AP2 S2000s.
I have both of these cars in my driveway right now. A 2016 and a 1992... love them both.

They drive on the correct side. Most people right handed and its safer to react in split second if you are driving on the right. Unless you follow Napoleon's logic....😆😆😆😆

The tail lights look like crap. They remind me of some of my old Lego Bionicles more than a cars tail lights.
