@Snoi Med I dont mind the more niche or weird but some stuff considered art is absolutely disgusting imo. (Talking about stuff like painting with human waste as a medium) Not everything that can be art should be.
@Snoi Med pretty sure I've heard somewhere that the rich people who buy overpriced, low-effort art often donate it to museums to avoid paying taxes. don't take my word for it though because i haven't double checked this
@@mopsicool that's exactly what happens. Basically you buy a piece of art then hire an appraiser to declare the "value" of the piece, then you go and donate it to a museum and write off the price your appraiser declared on your taxes. So for instance you buy something worth 100k then your hired appraiser says it's worth 500k and you write off the 500k on your taxes as a donation.
Its from an Italian artist, Maurizio Cattelan who does satirical art. The whole point of "a banana taped to a wall" is that it's not supposed to be taken seriously, that its a stupid, ironic piece

For what it's worth, if I had to headcanon a reason for Spencer's art to catch on fire, it's that he uses some kind of unstated material in them that's actually really flammable (I'd imagine some kind of paint, adhesive, or both). He either is ignorant of how flammable it is, or is too reckless to stop using it.
Maybe that substance is toxic and creates hallucinations, that's why when new people see his art for the first time they are amazed by it but the rest of the gang doesn't react the same way
@@samuraijackoff5354 he's a mangaka and is a skilled artist, so I think the answer is obvious. Their dad pays for everything. Essentially having Spencer as Carly's nanny. He's a high up in the navy on secret, prolonged missions, so his son can pratt around endlessly making stupid stuff without any financial concern
Spencer's moan about having to do all the busy work to get his sculpture in the museum made me laugh out loud because I know exactly what he's going through. You wanna get your work out immediately once it's done but once it's finished, you're maybe only halfway done and months away from something being out publicly lol.

“So we know that at least in death, Spencer could be more successful”
"His powers aid in his creations, but they also aid in their destruction."
One of the best quotes I've heard.
ICarly had millennial humor before there Even was millennial humor
I used to think the show's humor was cringy and too random for my brain. Then modern youtube happened.
Hot take: iCarly was what created millenial humor
lolrandom millennial humor was a thing long before iCarly tho
Martina Ramos nah fam spongebob
More like gen z humor. Millennials r all adults now, and most of them don’t even get internet humor lmao
Question: is Spencer a good artist?
Answer: Spencer is a pyrokinetic incubus.
Pyrokinetic

pretty sure the description of
-sexual aura
-things around him burst into flames
-artistic talent
-impatient
-generally chaotically funny
describes several trickster gods/spirits.
Next video title: “Is Spencer from iCarly *g* *o* *d* ?”
Um, wasn't there an episode entirely about Spencer's pranking addiction to further prove this? I think you're on to something, hmm
I always thought that Spencer was like a mix of Keanu Reeves and a younger Jim Carrey.
Could you imagine him in an action movie?
So your saying Spencer is some sort of chaotic super natural being that we should all fear?

Pease talk about the banana that's taped to a wall
Someone spent 120,000 dollars on that motherfrickin banana and then he ATE IT
@Snoi Med
I dont mind the more niche or weird but some stuff considered art is absolutely disgusting imo.
If nothing else, Spencer's sculptures are definitely memorable - it's been at least 6 years since I last saw iCarly and I still remember in vivid detail some of his art, like the poodle sculpture, sniffmas tree, butter sculpture, yo-yo tree, bottle robot and sock cake.
I feel like Spence is low key famous in the show's art world.
The museum director was not surprised to see him, she just wanted him to fill the paperwork. She wanted that art in her gallery. He is famous
You see that big ass apartment? Monetarily he was not struggling that's for sure. I think he was famous if not for his own merit by the merit of the highly viewed showed from his sister. Either way he was known somehow.
He always displays his art on iCarly. He's definitely famous as Carly's sister, so I'm sure he's known for that

Conclusion: He had super powers
Although I find Spencer's art strange, I do enjoy his mentality of not worrying about the deeper meaning and just having fun with it.

Question: Is Spencer a good artists?
Answer: His art is an outlet for his fire powers
Spencer: God of Passion. Fiery passion, passion in love, and passion for art.
Fiery love and passion for art
@@BayOfWulf I said fiery passion because he's passionate about love. Fire and passion go hand in hand in literature and symbolism, and I'm also tired of typing passion because it doesn't look like a real word anymore.

Brother, is that you?
I met the guy that designed the props for Spencer’s character and it was really cool hearing him talk about the bottle sculpture.
Somehow I think this video captured the same magic Spencer does. It's got a silly premises but a lot of the stuff you've said is way deeper and even more ridiculous. Nice job dude

Good job man you got the joke, im proud of you
For what it's worth, if I had to headcanon a reason for Spencer's art to catch on fire, it's that he uses some kind of unstated material in them that's actually really flammable (I'd imagine some kind of paint, adhesive, or both). He either is ignorant of how flammable it is, or is too reckless to stop using it.
Oh god. This is very very possible. What if he uses paint with kerosene in it or something.
Though he also sets random stuff that isn't his art on fire, such as one of those little "ring for service" bells.
Maybe that substance is toxic and creates hallucinations, that's why when new people see his art for the first time they are amazed by it but the rest of the gang doesn't react the same way
He’s kinda like the icarly world’s version of jack stauber
This is the best way I've seen him summarized damn

@@samuraijackoff5354 he's a mangaka and is a skilled artist, so I think the answer is obvious.
