I'm sure it has a manual. 5 mins of reading would probably save you wasted time and frustration trying to figure out what it can actually do. Otherwise, you're not really giving the plugin developer a fair chance for a review. I've seen you do this with other plugins too.
I appreciate the fact that you're mentioning the absence of demos with the company. As far as I know they do this with every plugin they release and I'd say it's definitely something they need to change if they want more people to consider their products. Demoing is essential.
You’re missing the point on this plugin, it’s meant for sound design and quick tone shaping. The adaptive time option makes dialing in your groove much quicker, very inspiring for me.
I bought this and instantly stopped using it after the first hour of use. It just sounded bad. I can't explain why but if I compare it to just OTT or SoftTube's Drawmer multiband compressor - I can put either of those on any track and I instantly get a beefier sound. This just feels really hard to get a sound that improves upon what I want. Also their mid/side setting makes no sense. It's just a toggle on or off and doesn't allow you to control how much you are applying for mid or side independently.
I use Sixth Sample's free plugin Cramit for my OTT needs currently. The additional bands and features here are kind of cool, and could save time over adding a crossover and using two instances a different OTT, in the rare case that I need the additional bands.
I have this and I like it. I had to watch Frequent's video about it to understand how the attack/release works. The addaptive time skews faster top end slower low end above 50% and the opposite below 50%. Its meant for sound design if you see how he uses it. Its supposed to be a better OTT.
I like it a lot. But I know exactly what this is, and knew that coming in. It's OTT but flexible, and that's something I've wanted. Great for sound design.
The Xfer one is simply a one-to-one recreation of the original, which is exactly what they wanted to with that plugin. I'm guessing that they could easily make it 10x more versatile with tons of added features, but they would also have to charge for it then, just like with all of these newer "updated" OTT clones.
Yeah i was wondering the same thing the last couple of video's. Proballbly someone called him a shill for putting affiliate links and generating money for himself through honest means. Just assuming heavily here haha
No demo No per band timing No gain reduction meter No per-band stereo unlink No expansion No linear-phase options It’s okay, but far from “needed”, imo. I love Minimal, but this just isn’t a “buy immediately” for me.
Hey, thanks for the video. : ) I've been using this plugin for a week or so and really like it. Unless I'm overlooking it somewhere, the only thing I miss is a gain reduction metre. Hopefully it'll be included in a future update. : ) Kind regards, Darren (Wales, UK)
there are two gain reduction macros! one for input gain and one for output gain, at the bottom left and right corners of the plugin interface respectively :)
Fuse is a sound design tool, so don't get it confused with your typical compressor - If you're not into sound design and want a character/transparent compressor for mixing needs look elsewhere... If you are into sound design you'll f'n love it!
Hey white sea.. I'm about to buy a bunch of stuff at sweetwater but I'm doing it over the phone.. can you get me a code or something I can give them so ya can get a cut
there is bit more timing controls, the adaptive timing, its not really band specific controls but here's what manual says it does: Automatically adjust the ATTACK and RELEASE times for each frequency band to easily create different compression characters. Positive settings will make higher frequency bands respond faster and lower frequency bands slower. This will generally result in more transparent compression with fewer distortion artifacts. Negative settings will do the inverse and can be useful for creating exaggerated character compression.
It's like OTT dude... simply said ;) Sometimes it sounds like you don't know what you are talking about. But that's oki guess for most of your viewers. 😁
@@venericanone I understand your point, but i usually can clearly hear the difference that the plugin in question makes. Maybe if he was reviewing something like Soothe or RX type of restoration plugin intentionally worse material would be necessary.
@@hitmarkler you can see what it does as far as exaggerated downward compression. Why would you want to compress a track like this that's already mixed and possibly mastered? And this goes for all plugin reviewers not just this video. It would be nice to see people replace their compressor in a finished song and see how this plugin compares or does better or worse job in the mix.
@@venericanone That would be ideal, but that means redoing/adjusting your whole chain for the track, possible group channel and master. There should be a reason why one uses a specific plugin in a certain way unless it's the only compressor, saturator, reverb etc. you have. So just switching to a different plugin and trying to make it fill that role is a pretty complicated or even impossible task. Excluding comparisons between different variants of 1176, LA2A, Culture Vulture etc.
@@hitmarkler not impossible at all. It's as easy as making a copy of the project and either switching it out of the master bus or whatever track you are affecting. Many other reviewers do it. Or at the very least, just use a track or loop that hasn't been already mixed and mastered.
I'm sure it has a manual. 5 mins of reading would probably save you wasted time and frustration trying to figure out what it can actually do. Otherwise, you're not really giving the plugin developer a fair chance for a review. I've seen you do this with other plugins too.
I’m pre-returning it.

Aren't all these plugins needed to process the sandstorm by darude? I thought so, based on the reviews on this channel.

I have returned a product to minimal without issue in the past
yo this song goes crazy tho...

Yeah I'm getting close to figuring Cramit out...can be a little aggressive but it can give things some big sound!

Seems like the controls are the same as in OTT

For anyone who owns cubase, it has an ott style compressor thats really nice
Nice, I never complain about new OTT options. Devious Machines X6 is awesome too and it has auto-gain globally and per-band.
Secret shopping is an excellent idea. Linus Tech Tips does it with computer gear and you really find out what the service is really like.
It's fancy ott. There seems to be a lot of them lately, probably because the xfer one is really dated.

Returning software…. In the 90’s when software was still on physical media it was at least possible and common.
Did you actually say "a-shill-iate links"? ;-) If it was intentional: Kudos for the excellent humor!
Yeah i was wondering the same thing the last couple of video's. Proballbly someone called him a shill for putting affiliate links and generating money for himself through honest means. Just assuming heavily here haha
This video is going to be about youtube thumbna..... oh nevermind
Undercover engineer, i love that idea!
I'm all down for that secret shopper video!
You should try it on a drum bus send for getting the ambiance up as a layer to mix in in parallel with the punchy stuff and smth like that
No demo
No per band timing
No gain reduction meter
No per-band stereo unlink
No expansion
No linear-phase options
It’s okay, but far from “needed”, imo. I love Minimal, but this just isn’t a “buy immediately” for me.
Awesome track chosen for demo. Can 6th sample do the same?
Apple (e.g.: Logic Pro) doesn't have demo versions.

I like the plugin... it's a multi band version of the MV2, would be handy

Wytse, I just checked out the above link to your services. VERY cool. I'll not hype. Folks should just check it out.
Oh Wytse… we want secret shopping. That’s exactly what we want
Im pretty much convinced that Trackcomp2 with Nebula and Acsutica Audio Pres are the best your gona get...in the box....
Pro-MB is all I need. Analog Obsession Kolin MB tube comp is good for saturation and flavour.
Has the bug with the mid band been fixed in the meantime? (I mean Kolin MB)
I know what you mean it happened recently to mine dont have the fix yet but The developer is really good with fixing issues.@@Mansardian
I checked the site and he is on it.@@Mansardian
Are the AO updates backwards compatible yet?
I am so confused by this plugin.😕
Nice song…what’s the name of the song, (not sandstorm…😆)? 🙏🏻
it looks pretty cool like a multiband mv2
Try Toneboosters’ MBC :)
Yes that would be awesome
Hey white sea.. I'm about to buy a bunch of stuff at sweetwater but I'm doing it over the phone.. can you get me a code or something I can give them so ya can get a cut
This version of "Sandstorm" really slaps!
it sounds decent to me. as others have noted, a nice alternative to OTT
This is basically a copy of Abletons multiband compressor, but it looks nicer :)
it has more bands then Ableton's multi band dynamics, but other than that yea pretty much haha
@@lukaxz Didn't realize it hase more bands. Anyway, sine Ableton isn't my main DAW anymore I'm happy that I can get my hands on this :)
Wytse drops a video = evening fixed
A fancy OTT, great, the effect isn 't overused enough as is already.
Wyrse, is that a Milab mic? You're spoken word audio is excellent.
Isn't this basically doing what OTT does for free?
but with more bands
"before" 30 days

Comment for da algorithm
Streak count: 175
reminds me of a pumped up OTT
Basically OTT in a different interface
No "keep pushing"? No "bye bye"? This video is not worthy of an upvote.
I’ll do that again soon
Not "ashilliate" lol that's golden.
I reckon it’s sick tbh; minimal have been smashing it
Minimal Audio make average plugins tbh, Rift was a massive disappointment to me, so I wouldn't hold out on this. And I definitely dislike no demo.
can you do X6 next?
No trial version

Nice plugin for electro house… and I give a f about what this guy thinks about it, because he has no idea of it
