It's so interesting to see how your favorite Pokemon change over time. Even if there aren't a lot of "new" additions, going back and playing the games a different way can make you appreciate Pokemon you overlooked before. But then there are those that will never change, and that's how you know they're special. Happy New Year, Ron!
i feel this so much! I always used to think Persian was kinda lame, but after using it in pokemon let's go, and having it be my partner that i always rode around on, and seeing it actually always perform well in battle, i grew to love it immensely! Also! Happy new year to you stranger on the internet :p

Seeing Torterra as an honorable mention was an instant testament of how you've changed...excellent list Ron!
Torterra is a great Pokemon, in my honest opinion. It's the only Pokemon to be ground and grass type, it learns earthquake as soon as it fully evolves, it has a very believable change as it evolves (I like it when grass type starters have smooth transitions as they evolve, and Torterra to me does this perfectly), and it was even my first starter Pokemon when I played gen4 for the first time. Definitely a Pokemon that I think deserves more love
Torterra is my favorite starter since it was my first one in Pokémon platinum

I think Arcanine‘s design is inspired a lot by Akita dogs. They are enormous, strong, very majestic and fluffy. That’s your real life Arcanine. :)

Samurott is literally my favorite pokemon, and seeing it on your #7 spot made me happy, cause ive never seen it on anyones top 10 list. Seeing you appreciate him really made me smile :)
I searched ‘top 10 favourite pokémon’ and found that one of my favourite pokétubers made exactly that video just yesterday! Honestly I love this list - it’s so - you - it’s personal yet you’re able to share it so beautifully with all of us watching! I love that you included the top 25 as well, you just love them all too much not to mention them! You’ve actually made me appreciate so many pokémon more and more in all of your videos but especcially this one. Malamar I used to dislike but after all you’ve said about it in your videos I really appreciate it. I actually used to really dislike the treecko line, especcially grovile - but now watching this video I am excited to see it at the top of your list and feel it thoughrally deserving upon anyone’s list! Though it isn’t my personal favourite I still now love it’s design and how personal it’s attatchment to both you and others who picked it is. Just the way chikorita and turtwig are for me. Some of the picks I predicted, the top 3 certainly as I spoke their names along with you knowing they were going to be there and looking forward to hearing a love poem to each one of them. Thanks for making this video! Thanks for spreading love for these pokémon! Thanks for making me able to enjoy my favourite franchise even more!

I like the aesthetic you’re going with this list. Having intimidating yet gentle Pokémon at times is really cool. Which is why I always love the franchise even though I can be terrible at playing competitively.
Hoenn had the best starter trio. Swampert (my personal favorite), Blaziken, and Sceptile are all awesome Pokémon!
Gen3 had one of the best starter Pokemon lineups out of every generation, and that's an opinion that is shared by many people, myself included. Swampert is my personal favorite of the 3 of them, partly because I like water types quite a bit, but also because I like big, strong and tough looking Pokemon, which Swampert very much so is. I'm not a fan of the design of it's mega evolution, though (I've always joked that it looks like it got thrown into a blender with a Mamemon because of it's weird propositions), but that's about the only thing I legitimately dislike about it even a little bit.
I've always thought that blaziken was ugly
Same, I like all of the starters' final evolutions, my favorite being Sceptile. After gen 3 I only like at most one design, except for gen 6, where i really like Greninja and Delphox.
I like sinnoh starters especially torterra

Devidueye is based on robin hood, whos legend is from my home town in england (nottingham) so thats why i love it :).

There is no V in Decidueye!
It's also based off of an extinct species of owl known as the stilt owl (if I'm not mistaken), which is why it suddenly goes from being part flying to part ghost typed when it fully evolves. I've always found that to be interesting, personally; but I also like all 3 gen7 starters pretty well, personally.

And you were exactly right about how perfect its evolutionary line is. Rowlet is so adorable and then it turns into such a cool final. It’s just so lovely from start to finish.

1-Sceptile: always has been my favorite since 2008.
2-Zoroark: fantastic design, origins, ability everything.
3-Naganadel: knew i would love it when I saw it.
4-Xurkitree and Blacephalon: love them in the anime and games.
5-Garchomp: earth shark and it's amazing
6-Kyurem fusions: normal Kyurem is fine but it's fusions are the coolest looking pokemon ever.
7-Rayquaza/Yveltal : another tie can't decide which one.
8-Dracovish: it's an abomination against nature and is somehow adorable I love it.
9-Scoliepede: best bug type ever.
10-Zygarde: everything about him speaks cool.
Scolipede is not spelled with 3 E's! And Zygarde is genderless, not a he! We do not call genderless Pokemon he or she!

Sceptile fans for life
As an avid druid player in dnd sceptile is also perfect for that theme, protecting the forest with natural weapons, being both plant and animal and even being an honorary dragon, and I agree it is cool at every stage, I've raised so many sceptile with so many unique move sets since he has such a diverse move pool for a grass starter
Arial Ace, Thunder Punch, Rock Slide, Dragon Breath, Focus Blast, Nature power can be fun on him in game and I've had one with hidden power fire for some time now.(very nice to sweep away the odd steel/bug type wall)
I make sure to have at least one sceptile in every generation

It's kinda surprising that I've got so much in common with you on pokemon tastes. Sceptile and Raquaza would easily be in my top 5 as well. Sceptile being my favorite. Nice insight into what other people think. Looks like you still had favorites from Kanto, and although it'd take me a while to think of the rest of my own top 10 I think Gengar would probably be the only one from Kanto. It was just the pokemon I grew to love first and I used it alot in pokemon stadium playthroughs. I'll give a go at top 5 here based on quick thinking: Sceptile, Raquaza, Lugia, Darkrai, and Gengar in that order.
