    Hey another great video!my boa has escaped a couple times by sliding the glass open when I have forgotten to put the lock on after feeding,I would advise to get a lock as they are very intelligent animals

    I would definitely reinforce the doors on your cage. I think Vendetta will be able to push the door open eventually. Josser’s Jungle has a video called Snake Escape Proofing I would check out. It was really helpful for me. I hope you get well soon!

    Happy new year! Cool enclosure. Good on ya BF for taking great care. My corn snake once escaped the way you described. So yea it is possible. In order to avoid it best use a lock or a paper clip you unfold and shape it into an s like form and put it between the doors. Not very child proof obviously though ;-)

    Hey! Really thinking about getting a boa soon as I already have a ball python.
    I'm kind of stuck on the enclosure though as all I can find is wooden ones. Would a heat light be better for a boa or always a heat matt?
    Thanks!

    • @pxrisxiv
      @pxrisxiv 5 лет назад

      Jennie LC Wood is perfectly fine but you’ll have to use silicone for all the corners so that the humidity don’t make the wood bend and what not. Best to use a ceramic heat emitter and use a pulse thermostat.

    For the lid issue, I don't know how well this would work for you but it worked on a 10 gallon tank with a screen lid that I have. So you take some industrial strength velcro (you can get it by the yard at Joann's or prepackaged). Velcro has a hook side (the prickly side) and a loop side (the soft side). You take a piece of the loop side and stick it to the lid, then another piece of the loop side and stick it to the glass. Then you take a long strip of the hook side and stick it to a piece of fabric or something that looks nice and use that piece to connect the two loop peices on the door and the lid. If you do it near each corner it will make it so the lid can't be lifted and it might also make it so those doors don't slide either. Then you just remove the long hook piece of velcro when you need to open the cage, and stick it back on when you close it. I hope I described that right, I think I found the idea on Reddit so you might be able to find it with images that make more sense.

    • @miyukiwynter885
      @miyukiwynter885 5 лет назад

      Note, make sure it's industrial strength. I can literally lift my entire 10 gallon by the lid and the adhesive on the velcro holds if you use large enough pieces.

    Love the updates! For the glass doors u can buy locks for them or door jams to stop them from opening them easily u can even make ur own there a few tutorials on RUclips on how. For the piece in the back that pops in and out that u currently have taped u could easily silicone that in place to make it safe. Same with the lid possibly. Just some ideas :)

    Hi my boyfriend and I love watching your channel, we also have a bunch of reptiles and your videos have given us a bunch of great advice! He’s been watching you since pretty early on, and we’ve seen pretty much all of your videos. So anyway my boyfriend has a crested gecko and loves him but he doesnt exactly return the favor and tends to bite him a bunch and I know he’d love to have one he could potentially hold and have a better bond with. His birthday is also on Christmas and I was wondering if you were thinking of selling the new baby gecko at all? Because I would really love to buy him for my boyfriend as they share the same birthday and it’d be awesome to be able to have one that was bred by you! I’d love to hear back from you and can’t wait to see what videos you come up with next!

    I looked at that same enclosure for my snake (great comparative price, size, and lightweight), but it really is an enclosure best suited for bearded dragons (it is also not recogmended for high humidity, per the seller). Adult bearded dragons is what it was originally designed for. So I decided against it. But hey, if I got it as a gift...I would make it work, lol!

    • @reptiliangarden

    • @6strings735
      @6strings735 3 года назад

      Those Zen enclosures are great, but you are correct - they are more suited to bearded dragons than big tropical snakes. I would lay a piece of 3/4 inch thick plywood over all or most of the screen top and weight it down. Cut holes for heat domes.

    maybe use silicone to keep the lid on the tank? run a bead along the perimeter and then press the lid down, and use weights while it cures. of course, the tank wouldn’t be able to be occupied while this happened.

And for adult for the enclosure? I normally do tanks so I can e joy seeing my snake but is a TV or pvc enclosure better or bins?

      If your room temps are cool, then glass cages can be difficult to keep warm, especially with screen lids. PVC/plastic cages tend to be better in cool rooms, as are tubs.
