Those flowers have a sweetness or may be a kind of alcohol for birds…it has a local name called ghurpish…mostly we find in high altitude….as far as I knw..
Thanks a lot for the appreciation. Hope to bring my viewers more such content. Traveling to those places are not as difficult as it seems. I found NE to be free of crowd and less expensive as well.
Stunning footages brother loved your calm and composed narrative,I am from Kalimpong only but haven't ventured in these parts now I am eager to go towards Kolakham..i suggest you get the nikon D500,cheers,♥🙏
best time would be feb-june. After march do expect some rain, I choose to visit in feb because at this time weather remains clear mostly. As these places are not that popular its less expensive. For a couple you can book homestays at 900/per day per person including food and stay. car rental charges are only costly thing, but there are sharing options too. you can contact Mr. Anupam Das(9836087652) a home stay owner. He has homestays both at lava and Rishop, you will get additional helps from him.
@@soumyajitmistry thank you very much for the information. It will be great pleasure for me if I could contact you before going there. Thank you a lot again.

I used nikon 3300d with 200-500mm lens for the closeup bird videos, landscape shots are filmed on smartphone. Although I won't recommend using 3300d body for making video clips, you can use a better body with good iso capibility. The 200-500 mm lens however is a good piece of glass..
@@soumyajitmistry please tell me about the combination of 200-500 with d5300.will it perform well??Have you faced any focusing issue with your combo??It would be very helpful for me if you give any solution.I've some focusing issue.please reply!
I have been using d3300 with 200-500 mm for 4 to 5 yrs now, It was performing well, only recently I was facing an issue, that some times autofocus wont work at all. I extensively used the d3300 body for 6 yrs, and often carried my camera hanging from my neck using the camera strap. That caused the damage, the lens mount on the camera sometimes fail to work. The ideal way to carry would be to hold the lens collar while you are on field. You can try to clean the mount of your lens and camera with alcohol wipes/ wet wipes or get your camera checked by a professional.
Mostly the trail behind the monastery and the road towards koakham. Any nature trail around Lava can be good birding place. Birds were just everywhere.
Rishyop to kolakham is almost 13 kms chaggey waterfall is another 6kms. It is not possible to return to rishyop the same day. Return trek would be difficult steep uphill climb. I returned by car..
@@souravkumarsarkar8386 Thanks for reaching out to me. I have only managed to identify the first pic to be a blue tail female. Not sure about the identification of the rest. And to be honest I might not be the best person to identify birds from photos. Try get your photos identified by e-bird or platforms like that to be absolutely sure.
At lava I stayed at sinchula home stay hosted by Anupam Mukherjee. You can hire a guide for specific birds. Try to find Joseph lepchatingbo and sandip Chakraborty in Facebook. Both of them works as bird guide around lava.
Try to find joseph lepchatingbo or sandeep chackraborty on Facebook. They are local guides. Otherwise you can book trip with Rantu saha (siliguri) but this would be an expensive option as he is not local. I suggest you contact all of them and pick one that is suitable for you. However I didn't take any guide for lava, so no personal experience to recommend someone.
I used Nikon 200-500 mm lens on my D3300 body but I would suggest a better body of camera which has better lowlight performance. my camera body struggled to make good images as most of the places in Darjeeling and Kalimpong region has dense forest cover.
