Hey man just wanted to say thabks for taking the time to make lore videos on FO. I play 76 for hrs and as of late ive been watching ur vids while visiting the town in topic. Really brings life into my game when im scavenging. 10/10
never even talked to no bark, I know it was her because she mentioned boone thinks she was kidnapped but boone said he never told anyone he told anyone this
@@niklassororitas everyone seems to have beef with her, heck boones own best friend (former now) was glad she was gone, she just was the only one who let slip of it being kidnapping
Fun Fact: the thermometer Dinky was holding is also a real location. It is found in Baker, CA. Dinky is a combination of both Dinny the T-Rex and the Baker Thermometer. Bonus: the Cabazon Dinosaurs are/were part of a Creationist museum. That was it was when I saw it years ago. I was told they got rid of the Creationist part maybe because of the negative reviews especially from parents who want to teach their kids about science but ended up getting a bible thumping lecture.
Ahhh at last. My favorite City-Named-After-a-Sign tourist trap. As well as where i get my favorite pistol in game n.n Very good as always! Stay tuned for more, everyone! -Mal
Hey man! You do such an awesome job with your videos. I'm subbed with notifications on now. I have one piece of feedback. What might make your videos better is adding in-game audio to your storytelling. Whether it's adding a holotape recording, you reading a letter left behind or an email from a terminal, or part of a conversation from interacting with a relevant NPC, I think breaking up your monologues with evidence in the game would be a welcome improvement IMO.
@@IrresoluteCartographer no kidding! That's funny. Well I'm always right so you should listen to me and not them. 😁 Seriously though, I do think it breaks up the monologuing well when you add a few extra bits of ingame audio. It's all about creating compelling storytelling for the viewer. Fallout has so much rich story, and sometimes letting the game characters tell their stories instead of you makes for a compelling video
Dinky is likely a reference to the dinosaurs of Cabazon, CA, the thermometer is likely a reference to the Baker Thermometer. Neither are close to the location of Novac in game, based on its location on highway 95 west of Nelson, NV.
Hi Cartographer! I'm an Italian fan, a lover of Fallout and geography like you! I want to ask if you have thought about making a map from the Fallout TV series? I'm trying to understand where the places in the TV series are located but (because of I'm not local) it's a bit difficult for me to understand. Let me know if you like this idea!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve started work on a map, and am reviewing the entire series to see if I can pinpoint the locations. Griffith Observatory is easiest, as it’s a real location, Vault 33 is second as the Santa Monica is in view of the entrance. I’ve found the location where the Brotherhood Camp scenes were filmed, but it lies over 800 km from Los Angeles. I’ll put together a video and a map when I find them all.
I know this is pretty nitpicky but in the first 20 seconds you mentioned Novac doesn’t exist in the real world, when it’s actually inspire by the Cabazon Dinosaurs in California. Still a great vid I just thought you should know
Not sure if you ended up watching all the way through after this, but I mention Cabazon as the second to last note. I didn’t list it as a direct version of Cabazon because Cabazon is 160 miles away
Hey I love these videos but I want you to know this (in complete respect) you are pronouncing “Nevada” wrong! 😅 most Americans do. It’s a joke here. Most west coast ppl pronounce it right but Midwest and east coast don’t. It’s “Nevada” with the “a” pronounced like the “a” in “apple” love the videos though!
Some of this is absolutely canonical. The actions of the Courier are potentially canonical. We don’t have a canonical path or list of the actions taken by the Courier, as they could have worked for House, the Legion, the NCR, or themselves. They could have bypassed Novac entirely. What I have presented is a potentially canonical story of the Courier’s actions in Novac based on the quests and setting.
Welp. Looks like I just found a new channel to binge.
A cartographer upload = a good day.

Great video! I was looking forward to getting home and watching this video after work. Keep up the good work! 👍
This is one I've been waiting for!

have you done a video on the NV divide?
Definitely, but it’s going to be a while. I’m going to continue following the course of the Courier’s journey, so the Divide is a ways off.
Hey. I realised enjoy this vid novac is my very new Vegas area to explore, thank you for creating this!!
Novac is totally underated. One of the most good written places of the Mojave Desert ❤

Thanks, funnily enough I received just the opposite advice on my video covering Vault 111 the other day.

In Fallout 5 Novac will be changed to theme park, where you shoot securitrons with dino skin on.
Amazing video as always my guy
My favorite place to call home and store loot
Nice and cheap to purchase with a Mojave Express box in the motel office downstairs.
I always thought that Novac was based on Baker, CA due to it being on the way to Las Vegas and having a “big thermometer”

Those two dinos IRL were the ones in Pee Wee's Big Adventure!
Great video, keep it up!

I love that mesothelioma and Samsung Smart Fridge are such avid supporters 😅😂
Haha, me too!
THE NCR TOOK AT AND MADE IT GREAT AGAIN😅😂
You should do a lore video on the divide
That’s in the plans, long term. Going to follow the Courier’s path all the way
