Let me correct you; Pikachu getting hit on a flying type with his own Thunder: MAKES THEM STRONGER! HOW THE FUCK THEY TURN GOLD!? DID ARCEUS JUST FELT SO BAD WHEN HE SAW THIS HERESY!?
Or he's just so stupid physics bend to his will, Brock's Gym battle... Sprinklers making Onix vulnerable to thunde- oh my god it's soak. They used Soak in the Anime Years before it was introduced into the games!
I thought that was the case but no ash or other characters directly reference his past battles in other regions plus he still got access to his old Pokémon so Pikachu should still have been lvl 1 million when he fought trip and his lvl 5 snivy
Fun fact: in italian dub, during the sinking of SS Anne in the first serie, when Ash takes squitle out of the pokéball, he asks to his pokémon is he's ready, and squirtle answers: "squirtle pronto!" which means "squirtle is ready". Squirtle suddenly leared to speak. Yes, I'm italian
"Oh im fighting an island kahuna who I know uses ground types? Hmmmm should I use my grass/flying type rowlet, or my pikachu?" "Pikachu I choose you!!!"
On the Zebstrika topic; I feel like it is often uncertain if anime Pokemon are also restricted to 4 moves. I recall one time when Ash is asked about Pikachus moves, he names exactly 4 it knows at the time. At other times, Pokemon are seen to use 5 or even more different moves, sometimes in a single battle so it really doesn't seem to be handled one specific way. Another thing I just stumbled upon was that in the German dub, in one episode during Ashs Kanto revisit for the battle league, there is a group of Linoone and their species is calles Sprinter acoss the whole episode. Even the Pokemon say it themselves. This also isn't just a mistake where it is called a different Mons name, there is no Pokemon in German (or any language afaik) that is simply called Sprinter. I dunno if this is only in the German version tho, so I'd have to check that one.
You forgot a moment in the Kalos region anime when Pikachu's attack got completely canceled out when he used Electro Ball on a water Pokemon and Ash said "Oh I forgot! Electric moves don't work in the water!" . . . I guess water stopped conducting electricity.
Ground conducts electricity. Everything does in fact because everything uses electricity to hold itself together (molecular bonds) but some things do have more resistance than others.
@@zegingercat7345 Yeah you can. You can always rename a Pokemon with the name rater. The only times you can't is if the Pokemon in question wasn't originally yours. For example, you can get a Kadabra or Haunter through trade, have it evolve, and you can't rename it. If you trade a fully evolved mon, you can't rename it. But as long as the Pokemon wasn't traded and you're the original trainer, you can rename it. Don't know why you thought it couldn't be renamed
I knew a guy who spent a considerable amount of time on a Pokemon RP server figuring out a way to make the Thunder Armour stuff actually make sense-As I recall he actually came up with a fairly reasonable theory & explanation and then used it in the roleplay. It was neat.
He's only done this twice, once because the Pokémon didn't look feminine (Pawniard) and the other because of plot-mandated stupidity (Elesa's Emolga, who he already knew was female).
(I started watching it at 6 am and had to stop because I had a laughing crisis. You know, it’s freaking Saturday and my family wants to sleep a bit more 😂😂😂 I’ll finish watching it later!!!)
good theory, but I think pikachu is aware of the fact they are trapped in a tv show and decided he might as well trigger the people watching by doing stupid things like losing to weak pokemon, or creating a bs stratigy.
Ash was actually smart he abused swellows guts ability and pikachus volt absorb so swellow takes close to no damage then getting paralyzed then Pikachu absorbs the rest of the attack so in my opinion ash’s swellow/pikachu strat was 10/10
@@3cliptikiCurrent yeah but atleast show him using a priority move for that paralysis like extremespeed or quick attack and all that stuff. If ash did that it would be fine but he didn't.So the only way swellow went first and got the ko is if both of them used a -priority move like roar or dragon tail(I dont think its possible)or if both of them had used sunny day when the sun was up.Also there's also a question about how he managed to hit both of them so in in-game logic maybe pikachu used iron tail in that explosion to ko one pokemon So the in-game explanation for this is that is that the sun was shining brightly whrn this happened so maybe groudon was released so that's why the sun came because that is the only place I know where the sun is set up automatically cuz the protag in emerald fought maxie and the awakened groudon was free.So in the in-game logic(I go with the more interesting part)Pikachu uses a thunderbolt on swellow so because it's super effective doesnt mean it gets a ko espacially since pikachu's energy was sucked up on the way(also because in my emerald playthrough my swellow survived a thundershock from a voltorb in wattson's gym). So,the swellow was hit and got paralysed(and the opposing side couldnt do anything cuz their attacks missed. So swellow has guts on but he's paralysed. My theory now is that both members used sunny day(because missing twice isn't in-game standard luck)when the sun was set up by groudon. So now they lost their one move and my next theory is that swellow got a crit and the highest rate possible while being stab(I know it's ridiculus but still and also having max atk ev and max atk iv).So it koed the solrock cuz pikachu was hitting a few moves. And in the explosion since pikachu hasn't gotten it's turn it used iron tail while being in the explosion to kill lunatone. So yeah it's my theory and it's ridiculusly long.Jeez you have to write this much to add logic in the anime-Or you can just call it BS Anime Plot Armor shenanigans
Quwyn Iscoool maybe they did. Maybe they were like: “Hey boss, I’ve never played Pokémon before, but...this sounds wrong-“ “It’s not. I want you to say water is weak to fire. “But...water puts out fire.” “You want to get paid, don’t you? Then you’ll say whatever I tell you to.” “Fine, whatever...”

It worked! Because when I tried picking it up, I got zapped but was rendered unconscious. But now it doesn't wan't to come out of the water. I wonder how I can solve this....Oh I know, BODY SLAM!!! Lol
I think that the thunder armor strategy is meant to represent the ability guts which Swellow can have. This ability increases the strength of physical attacks when the Pokémon is paralysed, burned, etc. Paralysis still has a disadvantage unlike burning (where the Attack stat doesn't drop anymore) but was the only way to integrate this I think. The way it's presented in the anime though is 1. Missleading, 2. Not explained properly. In any way it's a strange moment. This explaination is far from perfect but the only way I could think of
And he's still an idiot for using one of the highest damaging electric moves, instead of using something like thunderbolt smh..... Thunder in gen 3 was a real powerhouse thoung, Jolteon with Thunder against water teams that try to set up rain dance was fun.

The anime just dosent have restrictions, have fun with that 20 move combo I guess
You forgot a moment in the Kalos region anime when Pikachu's attack got completely canceled out when he used Electro Ball on a water Pokemon and Ash said "Oh I forgot! Electric moves don't work in the water!" . . . I guess water stopped conducting electricity.
It because it wast a waterpurificade pokemon
I don't remember this, which episode was it?
Ground conducts electricity. Everything does in fact because everything uses electricity to hold itself together (molecular bonds) but some things do have more resistance than others.

@@zegingercat7345 Yeah you can. You can always rename a Pokemon with the name rater. The only times you can't is if the Pokemon in question wasn't originally yours. For example, you can get a Kadabra or Haunter through trade, have it evolve, and you can't rename it. If you trade a fully evolved mon, you can't rename it. But as long as the Pokemon wasn't traded and you're the original trainer, you can rename it. Don't know why you thought it couldn't be renamed

mabye ash's pikachu has a strange ability which makes it the same level of the opponent's pokemon.
Maybe
Dont forget super sayan pikachu swellow
What an awful ability
What if it has to go against a lv1 Pokemon when its level 💯
Pimpnite was the trainer that make level 1 pokemon sweep 6 high level pokes. 😅
good theory, but I think pikachu is aware of the fact they are trapped in a tv show and decided he might as well trigger the people watching by doing stupid things like losing to weak pokemon, or creating a bs stratigy.
Actually Ash’s Swello has a very high resistance to electrify as seen in his very first episode, so he knew it would work
Ash was actually smart he abused swellows guts ability and pikachus volt absorb so swellow takes close to no damage then getting paralyzed then Pikachu absorbs the rest of the attack so in my opinion ash’s swellow/pikachu strat was 10/10
@@3cliptikiCurrent pikachu can't have volt absorb as an ability. Besides, we already know Pikachu's ability is static.
Because of the fact that the anime is a mess when it comes to type matchups and power scaling.
@@p3mcthedoor32 sad but true
@@3cliptikiCurrent yeah but atleast show him using a priority move for that paralysis like extremespeed or quick attack and all that stuff. If ash did that it would be fine but he didn't.So the only way swellow went first and got the ko is if both of them used a -priority move like roar or dragon tail(I dont think its possible)or if both of them had used sunny day when the sun was up.Also there's also a question about how he managed to hit both of them so in in-game logic maybe pikachu used iron tail in that explosion to ko one pokemon
So the in-game explanation for this is that is that the sun was shining brightly whrn this happened so maybe groudon was released so that's why the sun came because that is the only place I know where the sun is set up automatically cuz the protag in emerald fought maxie and the awakened groudon was free.So in the in-game logic(I go with the more interesting part)Pikachu uses a thunderbolt on swellow so because it's super effective doesnt mean it gets a ko espacially since pikachu's energy was sucked up on the way(also because in my emerald playthrough my swellow survived a thundershock from a voltorb in wattson's gym).
