First class superyacht reporting taken to the highest level. Keep up the good work. Would be interesting for the owners of these beautiful boats using there water toys negotiating around the Russian navy fleet for the forceable future.
WoW! what a great idea to answer questions in your car !!! I love you show some the scenery flying by; reminds me of my childhood car and train rides in Switzerland ; )

10:05 My few minutes of fame! Thanks for answering my question eSysman, you're a sea stud! I noticed you driving past Aosta in Italy--so beautiful. I used to live in Italy--Milano, Genova, Asti, and Varese. I miss the food and the people (the beautiful girls especially). I do not miss the humid Italian winters--the cold goes right through your clothes. Ancora parlo l'Italiano bene!
Thought this was the same as the etechman QA. Happily surprised it's not 😅. Great content, sorry for not doing them in the correct order. Thanks again👍
Great as always man. Can't wait to see how your fuel issue works out. Definitely agree on the fuel warning thing, mine becomes obnoxious at 50 miles to empty. The little orange/yellow light is not enough when you're deep in a podcast or vlog!
In 40 years of driving I only ever ran out of gas once, or almost, when I 1st got my license. Luckily I was at work, and just across the street from a gas station. It reminded me of how disasterous it could have been, and of the time we came very close in someone else's car, hundreds of miles from a gas station, in midwinter, on the Canadian prairie. Never even came close again after that!
Years ago, while living in St Thomas, USVI, I got invited onboard a private motor yacht by the owner's personal secretary. I was quite young at the time and was very flattered. The accommodations were very luxurious, I must say. And the young male Filipino stewards were very easy on the eyes. Memories...
yah, I know. I get a small SS USA pension from working in Hollywood in college and was "offered" a residency on a nice yacht owned by a (horny) "mature" lady. That was back in the day when I had a pretty nice "peach bum" but didn't really know it. I said NO. Today?? I'd say YES, BABY, YES.
Funny you worked on a Carnival cruise ship. That was my one and only cruises in December 1996. We made a stop in New Orleans...the day or two before a freighter had lost power and crashed into the port!
Hey i always wondered how the finances work on a big yacht. From the small things like groceries to fuel, marina costs, salary’s and other bills. Who pays it initially? Does the boat have a dedicated credit card and accountant. Hope you could give us some insight.
A large boat will have a full time provision worker on the boat and likely someone else managing finances from an office on land as well. The on boat worker checks inventories on the fly all day and figures out what needs constant ordering like food, shampoo, teak cleaner, oil, and so on. And those on land might mange the salaries and negotiate fueling and other things to alleviate the captain. Even a smaller yacht or private boat might have a small company or local company help manage the asset. Especially for the first year or two. A superyacht basically burns bags of money every day. Hell every minute. Wasteful spending can explode out of control very quickly.
Question: What are the most common problems you find with an owners entourage (Security, PA/EAs, Personal Staff) and what top tips would you have for these people?
Abramovich's new yacht will be the last new ship leaving the Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven, the ship yard was unable to find new contracts and is expected to close at the end of 2021. 1200 jobs will be lost.
No big deal that 1200 fine crafts men and women will lose their jobs! The keystone pipe lost with everyone involved 10,000? With the pandemic thousands have lost their jobs in the US and I'm guess millions more Worldwide? Clearly that will have NO effect on the World economy---he said VERY sarcastically!!!
Not to diminish the problem for the individual, but Lloyd in Bremerhaven had to cut back to 350 FTE staff in 2017 already. The 1200 probably refers to 1/3 overall staff cutbacks announced by its owner group of shipyards (MV Werften, owned by Genting HK).
@@YachtReport hope you enjoyed your time in my old hometown, I moved to Canada in the 90's. Which cruise ship? Lloyd had quite the name for re-fits, first one was the SS France into NCL's Norway in the late 70's. That was quite the sight, remember stopping at the shipyard with my buddies on bikes when we picked up Bananas directly from the longshoreman when they unloaded the freighters just the dock over. Good Times back then, great way to grow up.
If someone is choppering off and on a lot then yes the pilots live on the yacht. They will usually have their own areas of the crew quarters. Sometimes even situated near the helicopter pad or storage. Octopus is even more crazy in that there are not only full time chopper pilots that might live on board but full time engineers and operators for the submersible units.
That Montana cowboy that moors THREE yachts in N. Vanouver at Cates Tug (His dad bought it in the eighties for less than 100 million; chump change) flies his OWN Italian chopper off his newest yacht. I've seen him take off, briefcase and all.

A few days ago a video popped up in RUclips recommend and it was a burial at sea. It was a USN veteran who's family had requested he be buried at sea and it was done with full military honours, I think it was on an aircraft carrier with the Captain doing the eulogy. I would imagine the USN are the exception as I can't imagine the RN or Carnival cruises offering that service 😁

Hi, love your stuff, very interesting, have a question for your Q&A vids. ( please forgive my terminology as I’m just an interested land lubber ) Is there a calculation or rule of thumb when building a super yacht that decides the total fuel holding capacity, I assume the owner can do as he pleases but I was interested if there was a general rule, does nautical miles come into it at all ?
Hello Captain , i see your driving from the right hand side of the vehicle on the right hand side of the road . do you change highway styles of driving easily , right vs left ? Enjoy your channel .
Question: How do you transport smaller boats across the ocean, for example from Europe to the USA or any other far distance countries, if they don't have enough range to do that by themself?
Question: Using Sirena 88 as an example, it has 3 beds for crew, so how is there enough room for captain, engineer, chef, deckhand(s), maid, etc. Great channel BTW!!
Agreed on the haircut, a Sjt Major could stand on the end of your hair! 🤣 Serious question: What was the best yacht you have worked on and what area do you enjoy working the most, ie Med, Caribbean etc?
I remember Palladium's 100 inch televisions in the master suite and main saloon. Impressive, but doubtless outdated now. Must be quite the job to replace those.
For your next Q & A: what permanent staff members do the yacht owners bring on board with them? For instance, do the yacht owners bring with them hairdressers; secretaries, personal trainers, makeup artists, ladies' maids, valets, bodyguards and so on?
Personal trainers or hairdressers, massage, salon, those will all also be stewardesses who can do laundry or serve food. Same with deckhands and engineers and even the captain. A captain might literally help with laundry or food service if necessary. If someone on board can give massages or cut hair they can also serve food or clean rooms. Gotta be as efficient as possible. Like during provisioning the entire crew will help load or offload from stewardesses to even the captain if a lot of stuff is moving and they want to get the boat off quickly. Bodyguards will help with the ship as well if they are familiar with it and will not get in the way of other staff. The fact is that even a $200million superyacht does not have unlimited space for crew. Everyone is doubling up on some type of work at some point during the week. Even the captain.
What is the basic organigram of staff on a 80 plus yacht staff compliment - captain, staff captain, chief engineer, housekeepers, deckhands, room stewards, motorman, etc
what do you think the boss asks for the moment he/she arrives on yacht, do they go directly to a lounge location or do they go on a deck location to have a drink.

Its usually the other way around, boat owners (usually older guys) want a young, liberated woman who is easy on the eyes to come and be their live in partner for cruising and full time adventuring. A fairly common going on, sometimes it ends up in marriage but it seems to more often than not end when some younger guy who is richer and has a nicer boat makes them a beter offer.

I have a question for the future. Not sure if you answered this before. How do you think Elon's new Starlink Internet is going to change life aboard ship for the passengers and crew? Also is the boat your working planning on getting it? From what I've seen other than some lag the up and down speeds are teriffic. Heck I got friends here in Saskatchewan who are getting cause they live on farms and they've never had high speed internet before. Just what you can get through their phones. So 4g with data caps.

#ROADTRIP QUESTION: #1. Do you have a captions license for a smaller boat and will you ever have your own charter boat? #2. You mentioned you are one of the oldest guys on the boat. What will you do for your "retirement" from working on super yatchs? (These questions may be in the wrong order)
Salma Hayek. Definitely yes.
Have I answered it? I made a whole video about it! ruclips.net/video/1u9kaKVgHLc/видео.html
I think it is time for another Q&A.
