I'm rewatching ALL of her videos for my CPC exam retake 3/1/24, and am picking up on so many things that I missed the first or even second time watching them :)
I am in the AAPC CPC course right now...about halfway through (already did my prerequisites, as well)...your videos over each system are a HUGE help! I love how you explain things and break it down, so thank you so so much!
Definitely liking the digestive better than cardio. Thanks for your videos. Helps confidence to do some additional practice & your videos are far superior to aapc’s. They loose my attention when I get the constant “click on the buttons to learn more”
I am in my second semester for medical coding. It’s A&P this summer..... yay! I am learning so much from your videos I wish I would have subscribed sooner! Anyway, love you and thanks for all you do!!
I take my CPC Exam in 2 weeks!! I have been in an online course for 3 months and this has been the easiest thing to understand out of the whole 3 months lol. The way I can see exactly what you are talking about is amazing ! Technology is truly undefeated ! Zoom needs to give us the option to operate like this !
I completed my medical coding and billing program in July and am preparing for my cpc. I got your CPC review on your website, and am utilizing the examples in this video series after completing each section. Your channel/website have been invaluable for me! Thank you so much.
That's the plan! Quite a few more to do. It's taking me a while cuz I keep getting distracted putting on videos for "background noise" and then watching them instead. 😂😂
For the 20 year old patient with bloody stools, for the ICD-10 code K92.1, it says it's melena and to Exclude1 Blood in Feces at the 13:29 minute area of the video.
Melena is blood in feces that the patient can see. Blood occult in feces is a test done in the feces to identified under microscope blood in the stool. In this case is melena, it was not information about the positive occult blood in the stool from the laboratory.
How are u so confident? U have a great deal of knowledge abt this topic and u have really helped me to understand this process better. Would u be aware of any grants to help with taking the CPC exam? My husband was just diagnosed with cancer and it has taken a financial toll. Coming up with the money to take the exam is going to be hard to do for that reason and I am coming to the end of my course and want to take the exam soon so I can provide financially for my family better. Also do u have any practice exam questions that I could print out and practice before my exam?
Firstly, I'm deeply sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis, and I commend you for your strength and determination during what must be an incredibly challenging time. Confidence often comes from both knowledge and experience, and I'm truly glad to have been able to assist you in understanding the medical coding process better. Regarding financial assistance for the CPC exam, while I'm not personally aware of specific grants, some organizations and educational institutions offer scholarships or financial aid. I don't believe AAPC offers any except for the financial hardship fun for existing certified members. As for practice exam questions, I don't have a repository of free printable questions myself. However, there are sometimes free resources available online shared by fellow coders in forums or coding communities. Be cautious to ensure they are reliable and reflect current coding standards. My thoughts are with you and your family during this time, and I wish you the best of luck on your exam and in your future career to support your loved ones.
For the 2nd example (Gastrectomy), shouldn’t MODIFIER 78 be an additional option to justify the need for a second procedure? or is that possibly part of a surgical package? 🤷♀️
I have a question about the 2nd practice report with the Gastrectomy, total code 43622. When you went to code the Splenectomy, total, en bloc....with add on codes you do not use the primary code listed 1st? (in this case 38100, 38102) Sorry Im new and this confused me
the code 38100 has a semicolon ";" after splenectomy means the other codes below include splenectomy plus the description of the " add on" or other code, in this case 38102 include the splenectomy because the semicolon let you know is part of the code. Review the symbols of CPT and you will see the explanation about the semicolon. Also the primary code is total gastrectomy, the splenectomy was unplanned procedure.
So, for some reason, I didn't realize the add-on codes can be used when the first code is from a different section. Learning every day. Thank you.

@@ContempoCoding Thank you so much! I appreciate it and I want to also say you are very good at what u do and I appreciate it so much!

The modifier 78 requires it to be the same physician. Does the documentation state it was the same physician?
@@ContempoCoding thank you for responding! Good point. I will make sure to remember that
Thanks for posting
Do any of your reviews give CEU’s
No but I do have some CEU offerings on my website: contempocoding.com

YaH!!!!! I got 2 right🥰🤣
No words madum from India
Do you do a practice with CCS
Because I'm not a member of AHIMA and have not taken the CCS, I do not provide a review for it.
