    Out of 100 million videos on installing underglows, this truly is the only one that makes me confident that a non-car guy like myself could understand both how to install the ligths and my car itself. Humbly, thank you./

    • @KDMCurt

      Yeah that’s one thing you have to plan for when doing mods like this. You’ll need to make sure to install the lights far back enough from the edge of the bottom of the car so they don’t get broken by a lift or Jack.

    When you cut the strip at the copper should you put electrical tape on the cut?

    • @KDMCurt
      @KDMCurt  3 года назад

      You can, or you can take a cap that’s on the very end from what you cut off and you can attach it to what is now the new end. Most LED strips will have a cap at the end of the strip and usually you can just pop that out and use it again.

    • @KDMCurt

      Thanks, the lights don’t really draw power from the battery unless turned on and even then since they are LED they use very little power. I connected to battery just as a personal preference. You can connect them to day time running lights in the fuse box, you’ll just need to make sure you have them on if you want to use these lights. If you connect to battery you can turn them on without starting the car.

    • @KDMCurt

      Luckily the battery in this car was right above a little hole in the skid-plate. I just fed the strips through that hole and had the wiring tucked up next to and under the battery. Really depends on the configuration under your hood, just kind of have to play around with different ideas until you find what looks best for you.

    Hey man, mad props to ya! Looks good and a well detailed video. I have a 2015 Hyundai Sonata SE (equivalent to the Kia Optima) and I also have the same exact ramps as you do. I know what it's like and how difficult it is to install the side lights. It's a tight fit See, that's the thing...I had my mechanic take off my splash guard from the undercarriage of my car. I also have an underglow kit but I have a NEON kit by Streetglow. Neon gives off a different kind of light. But hey, looks good man! Huge fan of underglow whether it be Neon or LED!

      I was thinking the same... How is LED & old school neon compare... I didn't know you could still find neon tubes tho.
      I'd assume LED is a lot brighter, but neon does have a nice "hue" to it, but it has been forever since I've seen neon lighting.
      I have a LED kit that I've been putting off for a while, but need to get it done tho!!

    • @Michael030979
      @Michael030979 2 года назад +1

      @@LTSRIDE24 Hey there! OK, so yes..Neon Undercar Kits are still available. They are exclusively being made by StreetGlow and nobody else. They are expensive but very well made. I prefer Neon as apposed to LED but LED still has a cool look to it though. LED is more of a concentrated patch of light while Neon is created by two elements of nature. Neon gas and electricity. If you can afford it and want that "traditional" old school glow under your car, then go with Neon. If you want more of a futuristic as well as that "concentrated" look to your light, then go with LED. Neon is more expensive, LED is more cost effective. Neon is one solid color, LED is your choice of many colors in a multi-color kit. Neon has a more "softer" glow to it...LED is harsher in appearance.

      The only thing this kit should need are those connectors at about the 4:20 mark. You can pick those up at any auto parts store for cheap. Just make sure you get some that will fit on the terminals of your battery. Don’t get ones too small or too big because then the connection could go bad or not work at all.

      Not enough to actually kill your battery. LEDs use way less power than normal lights. Just make sure to turn them off with an app or remote and you’ll be fine.
