[Intro] Can I play with madness? The prophet looked at me and laughed at me (ha) He said: Can I play with madness? He said you're blind, too blind to see [Post-Chorus] Said you're too blind to see [Verse 2] I screamed aloud to the old man I said "Don't lie, don't say you don't know" I say "You'll pay for this mischief In this world or the next" Oh, and then he fixed me with a freezing glance And the hellfires raged in his eyes He said "You wanna know the truth son? Playing with madness, takes a special skill and mindset that requires one to be fully engulfed in a world we normally cannot see. But once this world is known, shown to those that seek, it cannot ever be unseen, nor will you ever be the same... Seek wisely, play cautiously, but foremost seek clarity.
the odd one out track on their finest album to date. the overall gothic, mystic atmosphere that makes 7th my fave Maiden album is not reflected here. still the most popular one on SSOSS, strangely.
This song brings me to tears. Was playing when my girlfriend dumped me was so hard to hear this song but the lyrics about breaking free do help. I reclaim this song from those bad memories as of today after nearly 10 years.

I am here for Graham Chapman. This is my first time listening to this song and it is great!
RIP Graham Chapman. The role of the teacher was his last screen appearance.
Yes , he dead in 1989
The song that got me into Iron Maiden at age 14 :)
iron maiden is a gateway drug.
For me it was The Trooper
Age 6 when i started listening
Me too! Parents finally splurged on cable and this was the first thing I saw on Muchmusic back in '93-'94
Same here Blood Brother at 12years old
"Can I play with madness?" No! He's been a very naughty boy, and he's not allowed out!

Playing with madness, takes a special skill and mindset that requires one to be fully engulfed in a world we normally cannot see. But once this world is known, shown to those that seek, it cannot ever be unseen, nor will you ever be the same... Seek wisely, play cautiously, but foremost seek clarity.
This gives me so much longing for this time, the music, Graham Chapman, everything is just fantastic
Always look on the bright side of life... Monty python
the odd one out track on their finest album to date. the overall gothic, mystic atmosphere that makes 7th my fave Maiden album is not reflected here.
still the most popular one on SSOSS, strangely.
Because its such contrast to what you're used to hear from Maiden :)
Bruce in the second verse is some of the best singing he's ever done
I love the entire song but my favorite part of this video has always been at 3:15!
As great as their music is by itself, the sense of humor shining through in their videos is what puts them straight over the top for me.
just realised that eddie is the same from SIT lol
This song brings me to tears. Was playing when my girlfriend dumped me was so hard to hear this song but the lyrics about breaking free do help. I reclaim this song from those bad memories as of today after nearly 10 years.
You can't play with madness, madness plays with you long live Iron Maiden
This drum change is out of this world simply amazing
Up The Irons Brothers and Sisters! \m/
Yesh!
UP THE IRONS!
Lo mismo 🥲

There's one band who's music I can never get enough of. One band who's music I always go back to listen to from time to time. And that's Iron Maiden!!!
Oh boy, I miss those 3 minute Maiden songs. That's why 7th son is at the top, they knew how to mix killer short songs with more epic ones.
Such a banger, some of Bruce's finest work.
Bruce Dickinson: Your soul's gonna burn in a lake of fire
Ozzy Osbourne: Oh, no, no, please, God, help me
The late great Graham Chapman.
The last bits of Graham
Flight Icarus, also Achieve mariner, two best written tracts from maiden. Stellar live in arenas
Easily one of my favorite Maiden solos. Great from start to finish! 🤘😎🎸🤘
This is the first song I ever heard by Maiden and every time I listen it feels like discovering them all over again.
My favorite Iron Maiden song. This song has everything you need for a great song. Great tempo, chorus, lyrics, and guitar solo.
One of the best
The most British ever! His accent is so thick it doesn't leave his singing! Up the Irons! \m/
CLASSIC!! My older brother had all their LP's but he'd joked about the lyrics,"Can I play with myself?" XD Thank you Bubba
Only one piece of pure 💯%Masterpiece.Iron Maiden are Legends💥👍😁💥
I was a child when I saw this video for the first time, but that melody stayed in my mind and to this day I sing "Can i play with madness"
Thanks for being iron maiden. The best band in the world.
My new favorite song from Iron Maiden. And My New Favorite Album!
Guitar solo is pure gold. So simple but genius.
Indeed, I had watched this video a hundred times over the last 30 years and did not learn until a year or two ago that was Graham Chapman playing the spelunking instructor. Iron Maiden and a Python? This is one of the most fun collabs in modern media history as far as I'm concerned. RIP Graham, you glorious bastard. Up the irons!
Se tudo for ruim na sua vida, ouça iron Maiden. Não vai resolver, mas pelo menos vai te deixar feliz. 😍

Ana Paz É sempre bom encontrar brasileiros aqui ^^
tô igual o professor de artes depois de cair na caverna subterrânea: perdido e tentando achar uma saída! kkkkkk

Obrigado por tudo, maior banda de heavy metal de toda a história do planeta.... Saudações do Brasil!
30 years with this song.
29 years without Dr. Chapman.
love the fact that Maiden always jumped in and out of different time signatures in any given song !!! awesome heavy metal mainstream cross-over
Such a clever song musically, making it work with the different time sigs, big chorus etc. A unique band.
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. 30 years ago today - April 11, 1988.
I was 15 when this came out many nights spent drinking hard driving fast and cranking this with my metal head buddy's !
iron maiden is amazing and I'm a country fan and I will only listen to iron maiden now
Better late then never
This is one of my favourite Iron Maiden Songs and when my ex girlfriend said this what a bad song she was left on the side of the road
(As a Rock Music lover, always).. The Jolly Heretic brought me here! 😆 ✨
I wanted to re-acquaint myself with the intelligence of the lyrics and the complexity of the music - and it delivered, in spades. Love the tempo changes and the guitar solo, too. 🤘✨
Ok so I'm about 36 years late seeing this....but having Graham Chapman in an Iron Maiden video is just...so cool. I love it.
Steve Harris, master of the Gallup! What a tune!
Memories of my school days . Thanks maiden
James Evans ....
the final appearance of the legend that is Graham Chapman
I don't care too much for Maiden's latest stuff but throughout most of their career I was a diehard fan and still am. And this song is my favorite.
This album is the one that got me rocking out to Maiden
