As a Congolese woman that was born and raised in RSA. I will say that this conversation only scratched the surface but it was needed. Tonton explained everything so well. Pen, you really need to have more conversations with him and many other foreign nationals in the country. We appreciate this omg❤
You know Pen, hearing Mr Pascal’s story about being in Russia, as a South African student living in Russia, he articulated the experience of being in Russia having come from SA and the almost intrinsic self doubt we carry perfectly. Russia is really a place for black South Africans to learn that we have some of the most fundamental societal problems in the world. I relate with that story with the helping the old lady with her bags because literally the exact situation happened with me man. Really a perspective changer man. This was one of your most insightful sit downs, thank you and thank you Mr Pascal.
This was immense, I am Zambian but my dad was originally from the DRC.....he ended up straying to the Zambian boarder, till date its the greatest feat of survival i have ever heard but anyway listening to Pascal has been very emotional and spiritual to me.......just hearing him speak echoed something in me. God bless this man
As a congolese residing in SA also emerging in the podcasting space and wishes to chat with Pen one day I am extremely thankful that you brought a fellow Congolese man here 👏 Inspired !!
Our culture must be preserve, I respect your ideas our problem is all flocking to South Africa to make a living but claim to be contributing to the economy which we are not part of.
These are the conversations that made me give Pen my time. My heart is full but boy I’m I glad every topic ended with “will finish this topic another time” 😅 Mr Mukadi is definitely going to be very frequent here 📍👏🏾🙌🏾

I love this episode. However!!! This video won't be on RUclips for long. They will cry about what-what standards and violations. Once the crack in the system is verbalised they will find a reason to take the video down.
The Congolese perspective is never communicated in English, Penuel thank you for bridging the gap, letting many more English-speaking Africans understand what is happening in the DRC.
Belgium killed your heroes, control & have your minerals, "I can't speak about Congo when I'm outside Congo"...but you find it easy to say anything about SA, you didn't went to Belgium to benefit from it extract from Congo, yes we don't control the GDP like most African countries but some how we have to tolerance all the BS that our 'brothers ' bring yet they can't stand each other where they come from.

At 1:23 you say Congolese men take care of their children, how come we have the worst forms of child modern day slaves in Congo 🇨🇩? And as for breaking up peacefully, one example that your not telling the truth, would be singer Khadja Nin who tells a horrific story of how she had to flee from her abusive ex husband. Dr. Denis Mukwage a Congolese gynecologist who was awarded Noble Prize in 2018 has a clinic special for women who have been abused, survived sexual violence. 97% on children under 10 years, learn in poverty, meaning they have not begun to lean to read or write, 7.6 million children ages 5-17 are not in school in DRC. Where is the amicable sitting down, and fathers as you say?????
I watched a documentary on the work the Dr does in Congo and iy was completely heartbreaking its so much easier to seat and talk this woke discussions from afar theres so much work Africa has to do😢

Communism is useless philosophy and lumumba wasn't a communist, all he wanted was for the land to belong to african people, and 70 years later the battle for control of the land continues
First, if we want to argue based on strawman, China and Vietnam are doing pretty well as communist countries. But I trust you know that things are not as black and white as "this country is communist and this other country is capitalist". So drop the nonsense. Secondly Lumumba WAS NOT a communist. Your ignorance about this second issue should disqualify you from any serious discussion
@ China is doing well since they are one of the most capitalist countries in the world. They’re communist in name only, and when they were really communist, during Mao’s Great Leap Forward, millions died through violence and famine, so they weren’t doing too great then. Vietnam still isn’t really, they sew footballs and sneakers in sweatshops for pennies. And as to Lumumba having been a communist, I’m just quoting the video. He basically said the first, hypothetical part of my comment. I don’t claim to be an expert of Congolese history
