Hi Ruth! The pattern I instantly thought of when you showed that cardigan your mum chose, is the Aileas by Isabell Kraemer. It's almost exactly the same except Aileas has a high neck ribbed collar and not a fold down collar. But the cables and cardigan style is very similar and it's a DK weight. Hope that's helpful 🙂

So Ruth, I must blame you (ha ha ha, 😜 only kidding) as I have become addicted to shawl knitting after seeing your beautiful knits each podcast. I love the Alwsys Better Together shawl and your colors are my colors. I love the pinks, peaches, wines and burgundy colors (but not purple). I've always liked shawls but haven't knit any because of physical limitations when it comes to blocking. But I'm on #3 for the KAL. Yay another person on team shawl. Yes blocking can be a challenge sometimes especially for the bigger ones. I often hang mine on the line outside and hope for the best .

I went there on my birthday for a blow out of yarn buying. It’s a small world as i learnt Kim is friends with Emma and stocks her woolly mammoths yarn. Also Jude from stranded yarns. It was a wow moment for me….I don’t get out much 🙈. I do believe in God and should do more for the church now. My mum was the church secretary and we use to say, mum goes for us, but we lost mum just over a week ago so it has been all about the funeral in her church. I need to give back to the church!! Xx
Hello Ruth, congratulations on your 4k and 2k subscribers, they are very well deserved, it's always a pleasure watching you, and honestly you don't need to apologise for your rambling, I love it, that's just the Irish in us, we love to talk lol. Absolutely loved all your fos, and definitely got a colour theme going on, but my favourite is definitely the better together shawl, absolutely love it. I'm not getting much knitting done at the moment, I'm currently babysitting my friends dog for 2 weeks while they are on holiday, and Poppy just loves to sit on my knee or cuddle right in bedside me, so hopefully I will get back to my knitting come Wednesday, and fingers crossed I might just get my shawl finished before the end of the month, trust me to decide to knit a large shawl for my first one. It's definitely been a hard week, I have been caring for my youngest daughter who has been really ill since Sunday, and and then the sad news of our Queen death on Thursday, it just puts everything into perspective.
