When you mentioned the humble shepherds being given attention in “The First Noël,” it made me recall our Sunday School lesson this morning. We are reading “Season's Greetings: Christmas Letters from Those Who Were There,” by Ruth Boling. Today’s letter was from the midwife, who gets absolutely no mention. It was poignant and her likely presence was unexpectedly obvious! and it made me think of you. Blessings to you this Advent.

I love these weekly Advent specials. I have been reading the 24 chapters of Luke as my 0:04 Advent. I read it first thing in the morning as a reminder of what Christmas is all about. It keeps me focused on Jesus throughout the day.

I love a traditional Nativity story and this year my great Grandaughter was a shepherd at her school but it was a special one who went to sleep! She is 4 ! Such a lovely and heartwarming reminder every year of Jesus in the chaos and stress of the holiday!

Our tree isn’t up yet either! I’m looking after so many people and helping them out that I just collapse at the end of the day (sometimes around 3pm 😴) so the effort to get the decs down 😢overwhelmed but hopefully I will sort it before Christmas Day.

My daughters birthday is the 13th and when she was growing up I never decorated for Christmas until after her birthday. My sister’s is the 28th and Momma always made sure it was honored and special. Thank you for the carol and message. 🙏🏼👼🏻🙏🏼

Hi Ruth,have been looking forward to this as am back in hospital with clots on my lungs. Feeling much better but it's so frustrating having to stay in bed. Am going to try knitting later today. Not touched it since Wednesdsy. It's only a sock. Looking forward to going home and starting a big project.

I don't know why this just popped up in my memories. Someone told me when I was little that all cats have an "M" on their foreheads because a cat comforted Mary while she gave birth to Jesus. I remember checking all the neighborhood cats.
