“A house is made of bricks and beams. A home is made of hopes and dreams.”
True. but some of my hopes and dreams are to live in this house and call it home.
I probably couldn't even afford the front gate on this house
Neither can I
Don't say that or you will speak it into existence; say I will be able to afford this beautiful home someday.
@@DM-bh4oj uhhh NO, I'd rather keep it 100!!
It's nice to see where all my overdraft/bank fees are going.

If I could afford to buy that home I could afford to move my family out of Chicago.
you know you can call them up and get those waived after 6 months of on time payments...
@@lolwtnick4362 good joke.
This is one of best prepared and most effective house tours I have ever seen. This guy is prepared, succinct. Kudos to the presenter.
So this is how the other half lives
James Sveinsson you would be surprised
No. The "other _half_ " live in dirt floored hovels without plumbing. Update your thinking. This is how "the other _top 1/10 of the top 1 percent_ " live.
I don't believe I'd like it.
Just saying, no yard to hang out in, no parking for guests.
This house is for lonely people.

There was a disconnect between the architect and the interior designer.
Lilease how so?
Agree 👍
It was staged...therein lies the disconnect...stagers generally just fill spaces...
A lot of homes seem to be filled with the worst sort of ostentation. This was the exact opposite, perhaps a little too understated, though. I find nothing more elegant than bespoke moulding in white to complement a modern interior; it adds splendid character. It is a pity they "toned down" the moulding throughout. That said, the stagers did an excellent job, in that the space is not personal and you can appreciate the volume of the rooms.
I could live with that disconnect very easily!
The decor is odd for the house as a whole, it appears low market furniture in a French mansion.
It's staging. You will bring your own furnishing. The art of home staging is to keep kinda bland and minimal to give a taste of potential but not inhibit your own vision for the space
The interior architecture seems really dull and bland, considering how ostentatious the exterior is.
You don't get the furniture with the house.
Ryne Hanz I understand what staging is and it’s poorly done. This is a million dollar property that is not showing well.
Ikéa in a Haussmanian suite...
I would brave Chicago winter's if I could own this LOVELY 🏠.
Are winters are not that bad
@@lancebitoy8912 We just had a winter vortex last year with a windchill of -52
To hell with the winters; I can't brave Chicago bullets. SMH.

Absolutely gorgeous presentation. Yes the house is stunning, but the presence and the skills of the host are exquisite, top of the top drawer. He could sell you a ahack.
Location though is awful. Living in a boxed paradise.
@bootnsoot Guests...... yeah, I forgot about that !
I guess, if you were to buy that house...... you would have

No one's having hotdogs in this pad. Lol
Why do you need all this room and stuff? Guess I've been poor to long.🇺🇸☮️💕
Edna Perhach No one needs it. It's a want. And kinda rediculous!
The roof deck is bigger than my whole house. However, it is beautifully elegant and very cozy.
@@whipchick90 All that room to move in.. My dear, All those pretty rooms.. Lots of space to enjoy having elegant rooms 😀..daily! Wow.. Thats not a vacation place, its someone home😉
@@whipchick90 why do you think it's ridiculous?
Depends on the size of your family--three kids and an in-law would fit perfectly in here, with plenty of privacy.
Needs more bookcases, though.
I am English, Manchester and I love Chicago. Every time I visit I marvel at the architecture .
@stryfetc1 And where is the "real" Chicago? Let me guess...the poor areas!! Yawn!
@stryfetc1 How is this area and it's well behaved and educated and cultured people any less (actually they are more so) Chicagoans than poor lazy uneducated rap song listening to people in the run down areas!!! And then if said rap listeners get some money and there life together and get educated and leave the poor areas they then move to the good areas!! You cannot see the irony in your dumb statement.
@@colors6692 bro this guy is one of those people that’s thinks engelwood and o block are probably real Chicago
WHY IS THE FRONT DOOR NOT IN THE MIDDLE
That is the way a lot of townhomes in Chicago are designed!
@Middlefork Development this is the nicest luxury home I have seen. It is luxurious yet modest. It is renovated, yet it has kept its architectural character. This is truly a gem. 💗
IMO. That wood beam ceiling is ugly. Doesn’t fit into rest of house. At least paint It a matching colour or my deal is off ! Lol
A home that every window shows other peoples windows that can look right into your home. No thanks.
Excuse me? I beg your pardon. Have you ever heard of curtains?
Blinds and curtains exist. This is Chicago it the middle of nowhere Nebraska. The fact that this home touches no other home is a treat
I expected no other response than the ones I got from my comment. You two didn't let me down. Sassy snarky people who don't think others can have a choice of what they like unless it matches theirs. sad.
@@gailarnold2660 Trust me bitch..you don't want any of this smoke..
It’s city living.
Architect: how many chimneys would you like?
Me: yes
insurance must be EXPENSIVE!
Yo dawg, we heard you like chimneys...
Beautiful. I’ve always wanted a home like this in a big city like Chicago.
Who hit thumbs up before even watching?
I think I'd rather have a mansion and about 200 acres with a lake. I'll stay 2 hours west for a fraction of the price. Cool to see how fancy shmancy others are living. Not for me though.
The obvious problem with the house is that it is in a very urban setting with houses right next to each other. This house would be great in a country setting on several acres of land.
The rooms are really small and who walks through their closet to get to their bedroom?
I hate that design.
Yeah. That was weird.
I got lost in this amazing home!!!!! The only thing I would want is some grass in the backyard for the dogs.
@Championship Boxing Humans? To clog the plumbing and ruin the septic system? People to walk on the floors and smudge them? Squirrels to climb the trees and scare away the birds? Birds to make all that chirping sound and noise? Eh, no thanks. Why not go live in a plastic bubble dude
What a beautiful place, so tastefully decorated, so elegant. The people who will be living there are very fortunate to be living in such an exquisite residence
Not bad. I looked at close to 60 properties in Chicago before purchasing my first investment property and my biggest complaint about Chicago homes....? They all look like the same botched HDTV design. No character, no soul. Well done on the details of this home. I do have one question though, who really needs 6,500sqft to live in....?
Toned down the trim= painted over exquisite woodwork.
I wonder if I can afford this on my teacher's salary? 🤔
Nope. :(

this is the most gentrified spot in Chicago. I'm mad that I like it. the duality of man...
Sydnee Ellison everybody don’t want to live around violent trash should have cleaned up ur neighborhoods
Twitter RavennaBonet it’s not about the violence and trash it’s about the displacement of the people currently living there by cleaning up said places, making new apartments, and raising property tax so they can’t live there anymore virtually displacing them from their own homes to favor new tenants. I know not everyone wants to live in a violent place but that should be able to fix without displacement but it’s sadly not the case.
@@sydneeellison99 Excellent response ! Exactly who and how was this area gentrified? How as the area say 20 years ago? I ask because I'm from Miami and one area down here that was also changed is Wynwood. It use to be old warehouses, car shops, and older single family and multi family homes ( duplexes, small apartment buildings ) and the area was mainly Puerto Rican, and Blacks ( ADOS). However now you have large scale apartments and condos, and now there are plans for an upscale hotels too. Plus now the city of Miami is now charging for parking too.
@@jarvisaddison8560 gentrification started tens and tens of years ago. Everybody does it. This is white America if you didnt know
@@ravenna9969 you should know that is is not about a person gentifying an area but a city or village behind cleaning up an area to make it more marketable. With ur dumbass statement.
Great house and seamless presentation by Andy . .
It’s nice... but one thing designer is missing is scenery. A beautiful building built around scenery, is a stunning beauty! Fancy finishings just looks showy.
Whoever redesigned this home took the character away, its much to modern and bleak with a hint of tacky
Sooooo tacky.
Your spelling and grammar are tacky.
I keep watching this video. This home is beautiful. I've never been to Chicago so I don't know why it was suggested but it was a great suggestion. Love the home.
If you ever come to Chicago I'd recommend visiting and taking a trip through Lincoln Park. Stunning home's everywhere! You won't be disappointed.
Oh my God the way you introduced this home is remarkable. You knowing all the pipes and whistles and all perks and the way you point out everything. You have a beautiful way to show the home. I hope you sell everything and get lots for it. The work is done is fabulous. You have a great personality and your home are wonderful.
This is truly the most beautiful home I’ve ever seen.
This Home is absolutely beautiful.
I remembered I painted a house very similar to this one! Somewhere by Dupaul University! And I felt so proud being part of a project like that!
I can't afford sublime. Do you have anything in pretty okay?
You say wine cellar. I say "Mom Cave".
✓ Everything white gray or brown
✓ Joyless neutral paint
✓Minimalist homage to actual design
✓ Soul-sucking blandness
Yep, its CRAP!!!
Good LORD the masterpiece of beauty and color and detail I could create with that amount of money! But this place is like spending a year's salary on breast enhancement surgery and coming away flat-chested.
How many living rooms do you need?
The tax each year how much ;) ? With out the price welcome to Chicago :) ?
Is there need for anyone to live like this , I couldn't when people are staving
Damn Chicago is really something else it’s people in my city 🌃 that is starving but around the way it’s some people that got more than enough 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Easily 8 mil for this especially in Lincoln park
Not worth it. :)
@@nuffflavor agreed. There would be mansions in California or Florida for the same price and nicer looking and even more sq. Ft.
Not so much FIRES.........
It sold for $4,350,000 in 2018. I'm not sure how it's "easily 8 mil." There's almost nothing easily 8 million dollars in Chicago.

You can't handle the price ! 😁
probably just an example of the adage, _If you have to ask how much_ ....
@John Lennon it's Chicongo.
Whoever staged this house should be fired.
Agreed house was rich the staging was cheap and not enough of it in scale to the house 🤭 the plus is the people who are going to buy this house don’t care about staging
Why can’t a kitchen just be a kitchen? I don’t want people congregating while I’m working. It’s a beautiful home, but I’m over open concept.

Beautiful and elegant house 🏡
Look out the windows- see bricks!!! Lame

not bad but small. i know its not but we have the same layout in luxury townhomes here in atlanta...lots of stairs and wasted space...a door that opens up to a wall?
These tvs above the fireplaces are just wrong. A screen must be below eye level field
Too bad no one knows anymore-
Gorgeous ❤ the man giving this tour is the best from the other Chicago agents on Utube. He gets to the point and doesnt get lost in minor details like some of the other guides.
I noticed the house does not match the neighborhood. The houses surrounding it looks like they need work. I guess this house is a sign of gentrification coming to the neighborhood.
When you can get lost in your own house it might be too big
In all the years that I have been looking at these houses online, I have to say this is the perfect house that I been looking for. It's a beautiful balance between traditional and modern, But it's absolute perfection for Chicago congratulations to you guys who posted and made this video and to those who design this house, BRAVO!👏👏❤❤
I feel the same way about this house. Just beautiful ❤️
Chicago has everything you’d ever want♥️♥️♥️
May I live long enough to see the fashion for canister lights in the ceiling fade away.
That's a gorgeous home! I would love to live here😀
Its beautiful but too close to all the neighbors. Give me land and I'll build my dream house.
@Taylor My my why so hostile?
@Taylor You have no idea what my dreams are. They aren't what you describe. I don't want a mansion and I don't have a desire to live by the ocean. But there are plenty of people who do have a dream like you describe and so what!? Why does that bother you so much? Not everyone wants what you want and vise versa. Live and let live.
I just love Chicago, your winters are to hard.
Their "Manual of Style" is even less forgiving.
Those homes have no land around them. You can reach out the window & touch the house next door. Not for me no matter what it has!
this looks amazing and has a home feeling despite being a large home. and I'd ask the neighbours if i could plant trees along the side of their house, i don't want my windows facing a brick wall. it's a shame it's in Chicago though.
archıtectural desıgn ıs SUPERB
Why would any single family need that much space.? The sad part is it will probably be bought by an old single man. Smh.
Half of the house looks to a brick wall. Otherwise it is beautiful but would be too big for us.
Wow. Tastefully designed, elegant interior and with an elevator for older family members. Gorgeous stairwell and wood trimming throughout. The only thing I do not like about this townhouse, besides its location in Chicago, is that raw wood ceiling in the living area. But a good interior designer could alter that ceiling to make it harmonize with the elegant interior.
Contrast from all that white is good.
@@markblix6880 Agreed. I am not a big fan of boring white paint on walls and ceilings. Nor am I a big fan of exposed raw wood beams or of weathered barn wood cladding on walls or ceilings except in a log cabin. I would have preferred to see a plastered ceiling with decorative medallion above a suspended light fixture plus crown molding and would like the ceiling to be painted a pale slivery blue to contrast with matte white trim work.
@@gonefishing3644 Can't go with the crown mouldings and medallions. It's been done before. Natural wood is good. What would Mary and Abe do with you? They had both. They may have put you through the spanking machine for not liking log cadins.
The sad thing is all these new homes and the mass of homeless in this country dicussting how a couple of human beings can live in this large space and nooone. Is building to help the homeless
Not the biggest fan of walking through the closet to get to the bedroom.
Someone help me pick my jaw up off the floor
The outside is exquisite. The interior looks typically stripped down and painted off-white. Yuck.
❤️🌹 Simply Elegantly Beautiful 🌹❤️
I can't help imagining how the trend in the planet is for people to have less and less kids and a huge property like this could prove pointless unless you make it into a hotel.
fantastic views out of side window a brick wall
Love this castle lol. Love love it
it feels like a maze while walking through the hallways doesnt feel fluid... and just because there is space doesnt mean you need to put something on it ... got to watch your step

HILARIOUS! I am dead!! He said the kitchen has "normal bells and whistles": Sub-Zero, Wolf, & Bosch. DUDE! Those are not normal in any house under $1.5M. I really wasn't feeling this house. Especially the master floor suite. Walking into your bedroom, but first you must pass walk-in closets and the master bath. I get that the bedroom is in very back, but like most ppl your closet looks like a hurricane hit it during the week. I don't want to walk into a whirlwind of clothes everywhere, everyday until I get a chance to tidy up.
