I mean the game still ended up being better than the original. The original was fantastic but with more racetracks from nitrokart and the original beenox tracks as well as the additional time trials the game is definitely better. Yeah the microsactions suck but everything you get from them was never in the original anyway, all the characters you had in the original you can still get without any of that.
@@Danbo22987 People don't like how purposely grindy Nitrofueled was as it's a manipulative tactic that pries on people's patience, optional or not it still sucks. However this offers way more content than the original.
When I see people talk about Crash Bash, they always talk about the story mode, but didn't anyone notice that it is an absolutely hillarious fighting game?
This is an amazing mini-series to have, no matter what the opinions are. Great stuff all around, and awesome to see differing opinions across the board. Shows that all of us have different and questionable tastes like any other person lol 👍
What if cortex actually managed to kill Crash? The game could be about bringin him back. changing between levels of Crash in the Underworld with previous masks and enemies and levels in the living world with Crash's friends fighting Cortex.
Crunch is super underrated. What few scenes he has with Crash and Coco are so well done, he makes a great big brother for them. And I will defend Bash to the end, great game especially its atmosphere
Thank you Lewis, for introducing me to such great games. You are the reason why I stared playing the Crash games and the Halo games. And Honestly, these are some of the greatest games I've ever played in my life!
If the Elementals do come back in the mainline Crash game they are gonna need a new voice actor for Wa-Wa The Water Elemental since R. Lee Ermey passed away a few years ago ((rest in peace)) and I hope they bring back the other 3 to reprise there roles as The Elemental Masks
i commented this on a different video(one of the bsc commentaries, maybe). Imagine having these quantum masks and cortex & crew having the elemental masks battling it out? Also, don't know why if they wanted new playable characters they wouldn't go with the nitro fuel(or trophy umbrella) girls
Crash bash was really fun for me. my brother and I would play together all the time ha I think it’s more of a co op game. Super fun together not as fun just against the AI.
My personal unpopular opinion is, that I think that classic Tawna isn't a bad character. She just never got the chance to be more than just a damsel in distress. I also can not stand her new replacement, that new version of her from Crash 4. Feels like once again that people have to fix something from the past.
Personally I’m a perfectionist with the first original crash game for ps1. It’s the most satisfying game to ever 100% on but it’s definitely not an easy game by any means. Especially how you can’t die to get the gems. In the n sane trilogy it’s only the coloured gems you can’t die on in those levels.
Damn, I’m sad I missed the poll!! Just want to say my unpopular opinion ( though I’m not sure how unpopular it is) is that I much prefer the design of Crash, Coco, Cortex, just everything in the N. Sane Trilogy to Crash 4, I just don’t like what Toys for Bob have done. Also dropping Derryberry was just criminal 🧐
@@e-122psi3 Especially in the prerendered cutscenes CNK chracter desings in general feel like what the PS1 games wanted to look like. Makes sense as CNK was developed by the same developers as NST
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 CNK also had the original designers from the Naughty Dog games helping with it. Weirdly no other developer brought them back, not even Vicarious Visions themselves retried it when they did the remakes.
"I wasn't even born when the original trilogy came out. " I was 15 and raging at The High Road and Cold Hard Crash since the beginning 👀🙃 And I still suck at them to this day
Crash 4 has too many problems that keep me from putting it in the same league as the OG trilogy, NST, or Twinsanity. I would rate it about equal to or just above WOC due to these reasons: 1. Bugs and Inconsistencies. There has been many times where I die from falling straight through a platform. I recorded clips and watched back in disbelief as I see Crash fall through the center of platforms. One example would be the moving disc in Cortex Castle. Another would be the metal bars the lasers come out of. Some you can stand on others you fall through? 2. The levels are too long. Some of the levels stretch on for too long with checkpoints and Aku Aku's being too far apart while older games have better placement. 3. Aku Aku isn't helpful. Most levels do not give enough mask compared to the older games and even when you do get him he is kind of useless as he doesn't protect you against all hazards (except falling off screen) like in the other games (excluding Twinsanity) 4. The box and hidden gem placements are BAD. No not in every level but some of them are quite ridiculous compared to old games. 5. N. Verted mode sucks. I wish I could enjoy it but replaying through the same long levels with a filter over it that either does nothing or makes it annoying to play isn't fun. 6. The side character connected levels make you repeat the same level you just beat that they are connected to. I would have scrapped that it just feels like padding. 7. The music is kind of weak. Some good tracks but doesn't live up to the other titles. 8. 100% completion is unfun. I have completed all the PS1 titles, Wrath and Twin and even with the difficulty enjoyed and wanted to do it. I can't say the same for Crash 4. Problems with falling through platforms, levels being long as hell, Aku Aku rarely given and not very useful, box and gem placement, N. Verted + Connected Levels making you play the same level 4 times. A triple spin mechanic that I don't enjoy and them expecting you to get all boxes without dying to get a Perfect Relic. They expect perfection without delivering it. That is all I have to say about Crash 4 criticisms. The positives I'll say is the art style although I was unsure at first did grow on me. The voice acting is good. The story is alright too. And the controls for the most part are tight. I hope these things are improved upon for Crash 5. Thank you if you read this lol
Add that "100+ levels" that they advertsied to the list as another BS part about this game and no, tapes don't count, although they are some of the most fun parts of the game. Also N. Tropy and multiverse being underused...yet again, not mention slide jumps feeling unsatisfying but i'm getting personal now
@@XpertGreekGamer Yeah I was disappointed to find out a third of the 100+ levels were just replaying other levels. I do like the old slide jumping much more but they did a decent job at designing levels around the new one at least. Have to agree on the multiverse being underused. Shame we didn't get Tiny or Ripper Roo (unless you count his background appearance lol)
@@bal917 I don't, even more shameful that Twinsanity's ideas for all these characters, NOT ONLY THE DOCTORS, would've seemed more interesting than anything we've ever received since. Dissapointment is the name of the game with IAT, I'd take WOC anyday because i appreciate Crunch much more as a character plus the OST makes my actually I'm gonna stop coz it's getting personal again
Also the ghost glitch in off balance is still there other than that you took the words out of my mouth Edit: Except the clipping through platform I never experience that
@@XpertGreekGamer While I do prefer IAT's because of the how horrible the vehicles in WoC, I do think WoC has a better artstyle (not graphics though, though I have polarizing thoughts about them as I think it looks awful but it is also pure charming PS2 graphics) and the music is 10 times better. If I was told between to 106% either WoC or IAT's it is definetly WoC though
7:19 never liked conspiracy theories like these, these people tend to over-estimate how much youtube creator can influence public opinion. I also have a bunch of mid games that the popular opinion is to hate (hourglass phantom, gex and friday 13th for NES being examples), but I understand these are game hard to get into and appeal to my very specific taste.
I will stand by that Mind Over Mutant is really fun, it's a neat concept and I think it was executed pretty well. Crash of the Titans isn't good though it took them a game to get it right lmao
Crunch is a great character that nobody knows how to use. Being a big brother of sorts to both the bandicoots, wanting to atone for his time as Cortex's slave and wanting to get revenge in his own way by doing so is great motivation but him being a hulking powerhouse doesn't jive well with the mascot platformer style of Crash Bandicoot. Maybe they could have worked him into Titans or MoM or something but there they literally put him on ice so they don't have to be bothered working with him.
They could make him the Darker of the 3 like in the WoC but based on how they currently used his Cameo they could make him into a Villain again and be like their Winter Soldier now.
Yeah considering the Cameo he had in Crash 4 and how popular Marvel is they could make him a Winter Soldier Spoof. Crash: Wah, wah Crunch, the Winter Bandicoot: who the hell is Crunch
My unpopular opinions for Crash (depending on where the series goes some of these can change) 1) I would prefer to have a Twinsanity remake with all the cut content planned for it added in than a completely brand new adventure (it would basically be a new game with all that anyway) though is they do make a new adventure I would like for it to lead up to the Twinsanity remake 2) Tag Team racing is one of my favorite Crash games and one of the reasons being is the character interactions it’s something I wish the other games had more of (besides Crash 4) 3) I don’t like that Crash 4 made Dingodile a good guy and I hope he will be a villain again in later games by explaining that the Dingodile in Crash 4 was from a different dimension or his business failed and he reverted back to villainy or something. 4) I don’t really understand what the point was for Crash 4 to do alternate dimensions and it felt kinda wasted/pointless to me 5) Also not a big fan of Crash 4 making all the other games non canon and don’t bring up that stupid different timeline excuse it’s one of my least favorite tropes that everything seems to be doing lately and I hate it along with multiverse plots they are lazy and using them makes it to where nothing matters. As the Franchise stands right now you can still have Crash 4 connect Crash 4 with Wrath of Cortex which is what I prefer to do until the next game comes out. 6) This one I am torn on but I miss when Cortex was taken more seriously and was frustrated with Crash now he’s more of a joke and always complaining or making a fool of himself which it made sense in Twinsanity and onwards(and I thought it was entertaining) but in Crash 4 it kinda bugged me and it seems like he no longer cares to take over the world or get revenge on Crash and is mostly going to be forced to do whatever it is in the next installment by Uka Uka I just hope he doesn’t revert to good at the end as I know a lot of family friendly things like to do that with cartoon villains which I’ve never liked unless the character was set up that way from the beginning. 7) Crash needs to stop or at least tone down the memes they keep putting in the games Now despite these complaints and my problems with Crash 4 I still really like the game (it’s not the best but it’s good) and even though I don’t like that it erases the other games (not fully) I would be more okay with it as long as the characters introduced in the post naughty dog games are reintroduced mainly Crunch, Nina, Pasadena, Madam Amberly and the Academy of evil, The Evil Twins, N Tranced, Velo & the elemental masks. The main reason I didn’t like the games being erased was mainly because it erases these characters I’m aware that the games they appear in are either very mediocre or just bad but I’ve always liked the characters so I just hope that they introduce these characters again and hopefully better and give character to the ones that don’t really have any. I would honestly be fine if they had Crunch be the boss in every world again if they give him better fights and have the other bosses participate in some way or your fighting Crunch and one other boss at the same time. I’m sure some of these contradict each other as I’m torn with with the direction the series is going on one hand I like it and the other I don’t. I’ll just have to wait and see where it goes from here and I’m sure I’ll still have fun with the series as long as certain things are put into the franchise or make certain changes to characters or making Cortex a good guy.
Crash 4 didn’t retcon the other Crash games, it just takes place in an alternate universe/timeline. All the other games starting with Wrath of Cortex are still canon in a separate timeline.
@@misterbiscuit3706 Well it is the most recent game and after having time to reflect on it and choices it made there are things I dislike about it like any other game. Crash 4 is obviously better than Tag Team racing but since this was about unpopular opinions I only focused on the things k disliked about Crash 4. I really like It’s about time but it is not a perfect game nor is it void of some criticism. Pretty much everything about 4 is better than TTR not arguing that just that the unpopular opinion is liking TTR and I like that game because I find the exploration to be fun and the character interactions everything else is meh to bad. Crash 4 easily has the best story and fun character interactions; the gameplay feels great and the graphics are amazing but there are some issues I have with it I don’t think any of it is bad just not something I like and/or agree with like making Dingodile a “good guy” and I really dislike the requirements for the true ending and repetitiveness of replaying the same levels over and over again as I normally like to fully complete the Crash games when I revisit them but this one I only see myself doing it once and never again which to me is very dissatisfying as it just feels wrong to ignore the boxes.
Twinsanity is one of the biggest what ifs. Had they had the time it would be interesting to see what they would've came up with. On the other hand, they could've ended up destoying the game though I doubt it. I guess we'll never know
Crash Tag Team Racing is just the most underrated game in the series. Caddicarus and AntDude are not responsible of this; most of the fanbase had mixed feelings about the game anyway. Also, I support "the elementals should return" argument; I like magic masks in Crash Bandicoot.
I don't think Tag Team Racing is necessarily underrated. It's probably overhated. It's such an example of a great idea executed mediocrely. I hope one day it gets a remake because it had so much potential
@@jmell458 I'd say the same thing towards WoC. Underrated?, nah. Overhated? Has cooled down over the years but definetly yes. Just like many say, if someone really really likes Warped, they'll probably also get a kick out of WoC. Like me.
After how Crash 4 re-introduced Nitros Oxide in one cutscene and never did anything beyond that and just had a pic of the Evil Twins which all felt less like actually re-introducing them and more like fan service to make people go "I KNOW WHO THAT IS!!!" I can't say that the idea of the Elementals potentially coming back would excite me because I really don't want them to be just there and contribute nothing.
People have different opinions on different Crash Bandicoot games. Some people like them. Some people don’t like them. The most important thing is to enjoy the Crash Bandicoot games that you like and the opinions matter to you. For me, I have nostalgia about the original trilogy. I play Crash 2 and 3 so many times. I am looking forward to see what Toys for Bob is planning to do with the Crash Bandicoot franchises now that Activision/Blizzard was brought by Microsoft.
Don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not? But I like the running shoes more than the spin thing in crash 4 because the running shoes was a lot easier for the time trials in my opinion. I tried to do the spin thing but I can never get the hang of the it
It isn't an unpopular opinion the triple spin in crash 4 is garbage if toys for Bob added back the speed shoes the time trails would've been that infuriating
If it's unpopular opinions you want, here we go. - Crash Tag Team Racing isn't actually as bad as people make it out to be. It's weird but it's still a fun time. - Of all the racing games, Nitro Kart is perhaps my least favorite to play. I'm sorry, but its controls do NOT rock the boat so much with me. - Part of me feels the popularity over the Nitro Squad has been somewhat overexaggerated, some of them more so than others. Looking at you, Megumi. - Do we really need any more remakes at this point? Crash 4 established they're moving onto bigger and better things. - Talking about CNK, I actually find the GBA version to be better than its console counterpart.
I'm glad that tag team racing even exists since I got my favorite character from the franchise (pasadena o'possum). I still play it from time to time since I still have it on gamecube.
In my personal opinion, I actually prefer Crash of The Titans to MOM and also to Crash Bash. Twinsanity is still my top game though. And I've beaten Twinsanity and Crash of The Titans over multiple times. And come on full Twinsanity remake!
RaC1equalsbestgame haha yeah I get it, tbh with friends the mini games are always pretty fun, even if the solo play/story mode isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
Wrath of Cortex's graphics are in these polar oposites of "ewww" and "pure charming PS2 graphics" for me lol... My unpopular opinion is that CNK is underated. Once you get used to the controls (or use a chracter with a high turn stat, not excusing the controls btw), the game is super fun with some of the very best music in the franchise, a great artstyle and very darn cool levels to race on. Thanking NF for giving me the intrigue to give CNK a chance, 0 regrets.
On the idea of Cortex not killing crash I’d think it could be funny if there was a crash game where cortex goes back in time and makes everyone think crash is the villain and cortex is the hero. It could be funny seeing cortex pretending to be all buddy buddy with coco and Aku aku, and it could be fun to see a more relaxed side to the villains of the series instead of being agro against crash, I know it won’t happen but I think it could be a laugh
Glitches & flaws aside, it still baffling how people who love the originals would like Twinsanity when that game butchered so many elements that it borrowed from the OG games such as the invincibility & the sliding. It also felt like a poor man's Jak & Daxter game with its open world gameplay.
Because it feels like a genuine evolution of the formula. Just enough Crash elements to still feel like a Crash game but enough diferences to feel diferent from other Crash games. The bugs only add to the fun personally, I looove testing out a game's limitations, so fun bugfests like Twinsanity are right up my alley
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 I can't be a genuine evolution of the formula when it's main focus is humor filled cutscenes and Cortex gimmicks at the expense of dumbing down many things from the originals including Crash and his gameplay, on top of ditching things that were iconic to the series up to that point like the Warp Room system, breaking all crates, & powerups. Tone wise it turned the series from cool to straight up lame and awkward. The only right step in the direction was making levels a lot broader with a slight open world feel, but the execution was lame compared to many games before it that did open world gameplay way better. Twinsanity felt like an one-off spinoff & not a proper continuation of this series. Also glitches aside, there are flaws in how the game was basically designed like terrible checkpoints, unclear directions in hub areas, and many unskippable cutscenes that kills the games pacing for me.
Even if we dont compare it to Jak And Daxter, it still is not very good since it feels more dated than a lot of 3d platformers from the fifth generation era, like Spyro.
My opinion was: The triple spin ability in Crash 4 is stupid and sucked the fun out of collecting relics. It's almost a perfect game, otherwise. I say this as someone who normally collects platinum relics, did the dev trials, and is a completionist of most games I play. I couldn't bring myself to do the time trials in Crash 4.
The elementals were more interesting than the quantum masks. Their background story of them fighting the ancestors years ago has always seemed more interesting to me. The quantum masks in crash 4 were just introduced to the game out of no where, whereas with twoc, you actually have background knowledge of them and they have an interesting backstory
Love the channel. Some great views shared by fans. Unpopular opinion series would be great and could even tailor to each game as well My unpopular opinion has to be how they basically used Rilla Roo for Crash Bash and then CTR: NF but nothing else. Waste of potential for use in future games. Even in Crash 4 he could have been used. Maybe in Crash 5 use him and old villains like Pinstripe, Papu Papu, Oxide etc. Have a bigger threat than Cortex
I actually done 106% crash 4 earlier this year in around half the time it took, of course the week of my birthday I physically couldn't during relics due to not feeling well, could only do twinsanity during that week
My unpopular opinions: -The original 90s ps1 trilogy games are better than the remastered ones. They ruined most of the original soundtracks which really made the older games for me. Crash feels too heavy to control and older graphics for video games are charming to me so the improved graphics are more of a negative imo -The PS1 1996 version of Crash 1 is the best crash game. Though it does have it's flaws, the simplicity and difficulty can't be beat. -The only good soundtracks are from crash 2, 3, Woc, and Crash Bash. All the other soundtracks are boring, are just noise and ambiance, or change the sound of the game so much that it doesn't sound like a crash game anymore.
I agree and we x Nitro Fuelled really deserves better-more post-launch content, the disc content is amazing. The post-launch content is decent but seemingly could have been improved quite easily; new modes, items, challenges and even characters overall but also track design; - Characters were good overall and started great, but some GPs didn't impress me; 'Baby-T' and Crash and Cortex as babies' voice-work seemed a bit rushed, the 'spooky' GP didn't include Evil Crash, Spyro's GP could have seemingly used the character models of other characters such as Elora, Ripto, the Sorceress, the professor, Bentley, agent 9, Sheila and sergeant Byrd, seems rushed, options for Hunters were only color changes. Iconic egg-thief should have been an option for a character. The 'Megamix' GP only had 1 character and not Rusty the walrus or farmer Ernest etc and only had reused voice-lines for Megamix. The final GP only added one character: Velo's Emperor mech. I also think that having really good options for characters in Crash 4: It's About Time they should have added some of their best to Nitro Fuelled, such as: the subjects, the monsters, the robots, the Wombat etc, they could have been part of the Spooky, Rustland and final GPs, big missed opportunity imo. - items; new items could be good and could have just been more rare if not experimenting balance. They changed warp orb and time-clock, they could have changed other items such as bombs not exploding if firing more. - challenges could have been more fun and creative. - modes, 8 GPs and we really only got Ring Rally + no unlockables in it (and additional Time Trials), the ghost-hunt and golden wumpa were cheekily named modes, they were small simple bonus features. + Battle Modes had potential such as teams 100 hits, infected, king of the hill, least hit wins FFA (+ numbers shown on screen and above characters) but was abandoned at it's bad disc-launch state. - Track Design, eagerly awaited, looked good but were too simple imo: - Egypt: good but not enough hazards, dynamic events or verticality/too flat etc. - dinosaurs: good but not enough dynamic hazards + weird blue speed pad placement. - spyro: lacks homage, not creative enough use of Spyro lore + lacks at least 1 portal/place imo. - graveyard: too bland, least ambitious track design of all tracks imo except Inferno Island. - circus: most boring track ever imo, contrasting it's asset/theme potential of ramps & stunts etc. - food winter: good track, probably better if having the hazard move through the whole track. - space: good but not much for most multiplayer races, it's seems a short time trial bonus test track.
Okay, perhaps saying Ant Dude and Caddicarus being the only reason why CTTR gets so much hate was a bit harsh. I definitely feel like they had quite an influence though, mainly because they're popular with lots of subscribers. CTTR isn't that bad. I think it's good. If they don't like it, that's fine. However, I feel like they were a bit too harsh when talking about the game.
I'm just gonna repost what I replied in the community tab here as well : 1- i really REALLY miss clancy brown. I don't hate Lex Lang as cortex, but his cortex being another dumb scientist is just too much on the nose for me and I wish clancy brown was back as both cortex & uka. I Specially miss crash 2's menacing cortex and how amazing his laughter was. 2- less of "idiot who's always in the way and needs obvious things being explained" crash. More of cool silent type character who might speak from time to time. 3-the music of wrath of cortex might be the best in the franchise and the composers for that game (Andy blyth & marten Joustra) should've worked on another crash game. 4-i don't like the cartoony kid-friendly design and direction of crash 4. Which some people attacked me over it but that's another story. Taking risks is good but Changing for the sake of it(or worse reasons!) is not. They kept the worst parts in the game and made some very questionable changes. Gameplay might be fun BUT at the end of the day it's just a shiny, generic, piece of sh!t.
I kind of agree on 1 and 2. It's not I hate Crash and Cortex comical, that was a lot of their shtick from day one, but more that they got flanderized into useless comic relief goofs because they were comical. IAT is the worst for this, where they're kind of the obsolete 'losers' of the cast compared to the 'cool' characters like the Tropies and the girl bandicoots who are just more serious and competent than them in every way now. Seriousness is overrated. Tying into that, I don't really like the 'super sinister bad guy' Tropy of IAT. I think they tried too hard to make him an antithesis of Cortex, suave dangerous and serious, when I think he was more compelling as a snobby control freak who only THOUGHT he was all that but lost his cool the moment things went wrong. Tropy has time travel, THE most OP power in fiction, he can't be THAT above the other scientists in competence if he STILL keeps losing. You can be comical and still have some nuance. If anything a character that has dignity is more fun to make the butt of jokes. IAT's one note 'bungling guy annoys competent guy' stuff is super generic compared to the wacky, flawed but sincere universe that the earlier games were, and the remake titles had amalgamated to such a fun capacity.
What you said about Crash 4 could really not be more untrue. I love the art direction in Crash 4. It looks really clean and innovative. It’s not my favorite art style in Crash, but it’s definitely one of the best ones.
Nah, I gotta agree with Abdul. Crash 4's soundtrack is really underrated. I think it just doesn't stick with people, which leads people to think it must not be that great. Surely if it's great, it'd be memorable, right? Worth going back and listening to the soundtrack on it's own. You realise instantly how incredible it is.
Crash 4's story and fan service just felt pretentious, which I never felt Crash has been before (besides maybe telling a bad joke sometimes). Tawna's redone character and backstory in particular felt like something ripped out of a fanfic, especially in how completely unironic it's written (you wanna see a fun "cartoony world meets serious action world" premise that actually fits, watch Wreck It Ralph or Who Framed Roger Rabbit).. Otherwise it seems to treat itself as this long awaited 'correction' of the post-Naughty Dog era. It wasn't THAT bad, Nitro Fuelled proved how much good stuff came from it. Crash Nitro Kart and Crash of the Titans contend for the best Crash storyline. I also loved how CNK took the intended 'jumping the shark' concept with CTR adding an alien and developed a whole intergalactic lore around racing extraterrestrials. Also I'm getting kinda sick of Coco now. The push was fun during the remakes, but now she's getting a bit stale, especially now they're treating her as just 'more competent female Crash that can talk' instead of the quirky bratty tempered tech girl she was beforehand, an actual INTERESTING character to push. I kinda want Crunch to get some limelight instead now, especially since he's more likely to stay as he was instead of getting an 'empowered' makeover like the girls. Come on, the guy deserves to be fully playable already. Not happened once between the two '4s'. :P
I do agree that Crunch became pointless. After WOC, he has not been a playable character besides the racing games, and only had one level dedicated to him.
Ive never liked megamix mania in ctr nitro fueled. The level looks nice and the music is good but the track design is all over the place in some areas and too wide and easy in others I know i sound like a person who eats only white bread their whole life but i personally feel like the last part is WAY too chaotic
I missed the poll, which is a shame because I’ve been involved in “unpopular” crash opinions on Facebook groups on my personal page & they’re a lot of fun I can elaborate in due course, but I can’t at the moment since I’m busy, but here are some of my unpopular crash opinions: 1: crash 4 it’s about time is the best game in the series. It’s got so much more to do & the masks give a better game play variety than any of the others 2: crash tag team racing was a fun game, the platform ing in the theme park was a great idea 3: crash 1 original is a good game, the flawed save system & death = no gem ads extra tension to the game 4: crash 2 is my least favourite of the OG trilogy 5: crash bash was a lot of fun, repetitive & infuriating at times, but was still fun 6: Coco’s best design was in crash 4 7: wrath of cortex was a good game, it’s over hated
Crash 4 (IAB) is fundamentally a badly designed game. Even playing it casually it ends up being more frustrating than fun. That game has so many problems that I could write an entire essay about it.
My opinion on Crash if the teams at Toys For Bob and Beenox can Make a New Crash Game direct sequels to the recent new one and the original CTR, Would I Play Them, Damn Straight I Would!
CTTR wasn't as bad as people say it was honestly. Sure its not a game I would call amazing when compared to CTR, but I still found it alot better then nitro kart. Nitro kart I always found horrible to play since the controls felt incredibly stiff. And playing it with gamecube controllers, actually hurt at times during longer sessions due to the shape of the triggers.
Don't really think I had any unpopular opinions besides wishing nina was used more often and maybe having her befriend Coco. Would like the cup bandicoots to be used in stuff outside ctr as well.
*Another unpopular opinion!* I hate how they toned down Tawna’s sex appeal and also made her more “independent”. There is nothing wrong with a “damsel in distress” character (see Peach from Mario) and her being stereotypically an attractive blonde.
I haven't played Crash 4 (or any Crash game), but I can only assume it's because of it being a different iteration of her where she had to fend for herself. I dunno, probably some timeline where Crash and Tawna switched roles.
I wasn’t talking about the Tawna from Crash 4 but the original Tawna. They made her more of a “I’m trying to defend myself as a strong woman” instead of being completely hopeless (as she was intended to be). See the cutscene from Crash 1 when she punches a lab assistant. They are trying too hard to make her a “tough, independent woman”. They also removed her sex appeal to cater to average people. I see what they are trying to do and I don’t personally like it. Tawna from Crash 4 is also a bit political. She looks like a stereotypical butch lesbian Karen who doesn’t need a man.. All my friends thought of that when they saw her 😂. Like… the whole thing is forced…
I mean I don't mind her being something other than a damsel in distress, but if the male characters can be bungling and silly sometimes, why can't the female characters? It's like there's something politically incorrect about any work that doesn't portray every girl as Wonder Woman and every boy as Homer Simpson.
Lewis I just want to thank you for the existence of this channel and allowing for a great hub for crash fans. Cheers mate
a lot of these opinions aren’t that unpopular. particularly, “activision killed nitro fueled” seems to be the majority opinion within the community
I wouldn't say 'killed'. More like held it back from its true potential.
I mean, less that a year later after they stopped the online managing and the updates Crash 4 came out. They had to leave some space
I mean the game still ended up being better than the original. The original was fantastic but with more racetracks from nitrokart and the original beenox tracks as well as the additional time trials the game is definitely better. What if cortex actually managed to kill Crash? The game could be about bringin him back. changing between levels of Crash in the Underworld with previous masks and enemies and levels in the living world with Crash's friends fighting Cortex.
i feel like cortex would just be sad if he actually managed to do it, like megamind without crash he wouldnt have a purpose
@@Kazuhira2249he would have a purpose. Crash was meant to be one of his villains but it didn’t work and crash escaped
Maybe we could get a game that takes place in the alternate Crash 4 dimension where Crash and Coco were both killed by Female N. Tropy
Crunch is super underrated. What few scenes he has with Crash and Coco are so well done, he makes a great big brother for them.
And I will defend Bash to the end, great game especially its atmosphere
Drink lemonade from out of the sea
IMO CNK has the best desings of all Crash charcters.
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 Nothing can beat the classic/CNK design for Cortex by Charles Zembillas.
I would rate it about equal to or just above WOC due to these reasons:
Most levels do not give enough mask compared to the older games and even when you do get him he is kind of useless as he doesn't protect you against all hazards (except falling off screen) like in the other games (excluding Twinsanity)

I also have a bunch of mid games that the popular opinion is to hate (hourglass phantom, gex and friday 13th for NES being examples), but I understand these are game hard to get into and appeal to my very specific taste.
everyone hated prince of persia warrior within it still is one of my fav games ever
Born in 1994 so grew up with all them lol
I consider Crush to be The Winter Soldier of the Crash universe
Yeah considering the Cameo he had in Crash 4 and how popular Marvel is they could make him a Winter Soldier Spoof.
Crash: Wah, wah
Crunch, the Winter Bandicoot: who the hell is Crunch
My unpopular opinions for Crash (depending on where the series goes some of these can change)
1) I would prefer to have a Twinsanity remake with all the cut content planned for it added in than a completely brand new adventure (it would basically be a new game with all that anyway) though is they do make a new adventure I would like for it to lead up to the Twinsanity remake
2) Tag Team racing is one of my favorite Crash games and one of the reasons being is the character interactions it’s something I wish the other games had more of (besides Crash 4)
3) I don’t like that Crash 4 made Dingodile a good guy and I hope he will be a villain again in later games by explaining that the Dingodile in Crash 4 was from a different dimension or his business failed and he reverted back to villainy or something.
4) I don’t really understand what the point was for Crash 4 to do alternate dimensions and it felt kinda wasted/pointless to me
5) Also not a big fan of Crash 4 making all the other games non canon and don’t bring up that stupid different timeline excuse it’s one of my least favorite tropes that everything seems to be doing lately and I hate it along with multiverse plots they are lazy and using them makes it to where nothing matters.
7) Crash needs to stop or at least tone down the memes they keep putting in the games
Now despite these complaints and my problems with Crash 4 I still really like the game (it’s not the best but it’s good)
and even though I don’t like that it erases the other games (not fully) I would be more okay with it as long as the characters introduced in the post naughty dog games are reintroduced mainly Crunch, Nina, Pasadena, Madam Amberly and the Academy of evil, The Evil Twins, N Tranced, Velo & the elemental masks.
I completely agree with 1) and 3)!
Crash 4 didn’t retcon the other Crash games, it just takes place in an alternate universe/timeline. All the other games starting with Wrath of Cortex are still canon in a separate timeline.
ngl man these hurt, unpopular for a reason lmao
I know it’s your opinion, but you sorta dissing crash 4 but liking tag team racing really hurts on another level.
@@misterbiscuit3706
Well it is the most recent game and after having time to reflect on it and choices it made there are things I dislike about it like any other game.
I think he looked the best in the N Sane Trilogy. Same with the whole art style there
Twinsanity is one of the biggest what ifs. Had they had the time it would be interesting to see what they would've came up with. On the other hand, they could've ended up destoying the game though I doubt it. I guess we'll never know
Crash 1 being bad is a skill issue
Fr
My favorites are twinsanity and team tag racing because of the soundstack, artstyle and humor. Sadly i will never see other game like this again
Crash is older than me too, don't feel bad.

TTR was OKAY!

Crash was a tough game and my favourite crash game.
In my personal opinion, I actually prefer Crash of The Titans to MOM and also to Crash Bash. Twinsanity is still my top game though. And I've beaten Twinsanity and Crash of The Titans over multiple times.
And come on full Twinsanity remake!
I agree on the Crash bash one. It’s genuinely a fun game, and I like/liked it just as much at the first 3 crash games
My only issue with Crash Bash is the repeated content. But when you play it with friends you just sort of... stop caring about that.
RaC1equalsbestgame that’s fair tbh. I didn’t mind that a ton. But I get why some people didn’t love the repeated mini games and stuff.

Yeah, Wrath of Cortex is a bit ugly. But it was 2001 so I can excuse it.
@@AccurateDiscoFever45 WoC is butt ugly but it grabs at the seams of my early PS2 graphics nostalgia so hard at the same time
On the idea of Cortex not killing crash I’d think it could be funny if there was a crash game where cortex goes back in time and makes everyone think crash is the villain and cortex is the hero. It could be funny seeing cortex pretending to be all buddy buddy with coco and Aku aku, and it could be fun to see a more relaxed side to the villains of the series instead of being agro against crash, I know it won’t happen but I think it could be a laugh
Mind over mutant is a fantastic game
My favourite soundtrack out of any crash game
Yeah, it's a great soundtrack
@@MSCLeap75 To me it at least felt in a step in the right direction, but I respect your take
Even if we dont compare it to Jak And Daxter, it still is not very good since it feels more dated than a lot of 3d platformers from the fifth generation era, like Spyro.
I wouldn't say Twinsanity is open world through.
My opinion was:
The triple spin ability in Crash 4 is stupid and sucked the fun out of collecting relics.
I like all the masks.

Unpopular opinion series would be great and could even tailor to each game as well
My unpopular opinion has to be how they basically used Rilla Roo for Crash Bash and then CTR: NF but nothing else.
Every good is good imo
In my unpopular opinion wrath of cortex > it's about time
Ok, I'll say it. Tag Team Racing is the second best original racing game in the franchise
My unpopular opinions:
-The original 90s ps1 trilogy games are better than the remastered ones. They ruined most of the original soundtracks which really made the older games for me. Crash feels too heavy to control and older graphics for video games are charming to me so the improved graphics are more of a negative imo
-The PS1 1996 version of Crash 1 is the best crash game.
I agree and we x Nitro Fuelled really deserves better-more post-launch content, the disc content is amazing. The post-launch content is decent but seemingly could have been improved quite easily; new modes, items, challenges and even characters overall but also track design;
- Characters were good overall and started great, but some GPs didn't impress me; 'Baby-T' and Crash and Cortex as babies' voice-work seemed a bit rushed, the 'spooky' GP didn't include Evil Crash, Spyro's GP could have seemingly used the character models of other characters such as Elora, Ripto, the Sorceress, the professor, Bentley, agent 9, Sheila and sergeant Byrd, seems rushed, options for Hunters were only color changes.
- Track Design, eagerly awaited, looked good but were too simple imo:
- Egypt: good but not enough hazards, dynamic events or verticality/too flat etc.

Unpopular opinion:
Time trails are the most fun things to do in any Crash Bandicoot platformer
I'm just gonna repost what I replied in the community tab here as well :
1- i really REALLY miss clancy brown.
Unpopular opinions:
Drive-thru Danger is the best CTRNF track
Rush Hour is the best Crash 4 level
Tell No Tales is the best Crash 3 level
*No. Just no.*
I would swap rush hour with cortex castle
I have a bias for Spyro Circuit but Out of Time or Dragon Mines are by far the best CTR tracks
I'll agree on the first one somewhat. It is a very technical track that's a combination of a lot of CTR's designs
I rather they make Crash 5 a new story reintroducing Crunch and Nina rather than remaking Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity
We need a Dingodile spin-off!!!!
If they remade and finished Twinsanity it would be the best crash game by far
Wrath of Cortex is better than It's About Time, there, I said it.
Except for the tank levels cus I'm bad at them, I fckn love Crash Bash
Favorite minigame? I ADORE the pogo minigames for how hilariously bullshit they can be.
gotta make this a series fr
Ive never liked megamix mania in ctr nitro fueled. The level looks nice and the music is good but the track design is all over the place in some areas and too wide and easy in others
I know i sound like a person who eats only white bread their whole life but i personally feel like the last part is WAY too chaotic
I missed the poll, which is a shame because I’ve been involved in “unpopular” crash opinions on Facebook groups on my personal page & they’re a lot of fun
I can elaborate in due course, but I can’t at the moment since I’m busy, but here are some of my unpopular crash opinions:
1: crash 4 it’s about time is the best game in the series. It’s got so much more to do & the masks give a better game play variety than any of the others
2: crash tag team racing was a fun game, the platform ing in the theme park was a great idea
3: crash 1 original is a good game, the flawed save system & death = no gem ads extra tension to the game
4: crash 2 is my least favourite of the OG trilogy
5: crash bash was a lot of fun, repetitive & infuriating at times, but was still fun
6: Coco’s best design was in crash 4
7: wrath of cortex was a good game, it’s over hated
I love crash bash but maybe because i had friends to play it with. it's definitely a fun multiplayer game, but single player is miserable
Crash Bash is best with friends. I once got my little cousins to join and that was so much fun.
@@rac1equalsbestgame853 yes we get it 😒
To bad they won’t remake crash bash remake is gone and cancelled 😒
@@tylermatthew349 Why do you keep spewing that shit I have already explained a billion times
can you please do a worst to best crash games and why video in your opinion
BRO I GOT IN THE VIDEO
Yaya is cuter than Coco.
Crash and all the good guys working with the bad guys to defeat a threat larger than themselves. Sounds like a thanos moment
*Another unpopular opinion!*
I hate how they toned down Tawna’s sex appeal and also made her more “independent”.
@@luckydudex3765 political?
I mean I don't mind her being something other than a damsel in distress, but if the male characters can be bungling and silly sometimes, why can't the female characters? It's like there's something politically incorrect about any work that doesn't portray every girl as Wonder Woman and every boy as Homer Simpson.
But Daisy is better than Peach as character actually, i just like Peach because of nostalgia and because of her pink color .
My opinion is that toys for Bob's artstyle is the worst
Cool video
Boom Bang is a solid 9/10.
Unpopular Opinion:Crash Twinsanity is the best crash game ever even without the contents lol
