One thing not mentioned in this video was the fact that if you play Adventure Mode co-op (with a friend) and both of you pick characters of different alignments (e.g. Crash and Cortex), after you beat Oxide, you must then fight your friend in a final fight in a deathmatch minigame where once you win it decides the ending.
This was one of my favourites. I was born in '93 so I remember birthday parties when my friends were over and we used to play this. Also, back in the day when multiplayer games meant split screen and even 4 way split screen in some cases, crash bash was 4 player with no split screen as everyone was visible at all times on the one screen.

@@tetermc I disagree. Unlike mario party where you randomly go to spots to play a mini game. Crash Bash took that concept and turned it into an arena fighter/ point system of sorts. For some it worked, others not so much. But what can't be denied is the games awesome soundtrack.

I had an honor to play this game back in the past - I was like 7 years old, born in 94 and I have to say that Bash and CTR were one of the greatest titles back then. Amount of fun I had with both, playing with my parents or friends from school, oh memories are back! I'm not saying that game was absolutely perfect, I think it was a great title for PlayStationOne generation, and us, kids :)
Also if I remember, when you play multiplayer and the players choose a good and an evil character, in the ending, they'll fight deciding which team win. This was a Nice video! Great job! And I also think that crash bash was an awesome game!
Crash Bash was one of my favorite games during childhood. Something very important that you didn't mention (but I totally understand why) is the fact you can play the Adventure Mode with two players. I played Crash Bash with my brother and not only did co-op switch up the dynamic of the entire game... it made me bond with him in a way no other game could. And playing with friends in Battle mode has always been an absolute blast. The social aspect of a party game justifies a remaster because that's what other Crash Games are kind of missing. It would make me incredibly happy to pull this bad boy out during some sort of family reunion.
One thing you didn’t mention is that if you play adventure mode couch coop, and you and your partner are 1 good and 1 evil character, you actually have to fight each other at the end. That is still to this day one of the coolest game mechanics I have ever seen!
This game was actually great. Creative and special, the kind of game you can be playing for ages without getting tired. And the adventure is long and hard enough to keep you entertained for a while. I really liked and it was harder for me because I was just 10 years old when I started to play, it took me A LOT of time until I completed it 200%. This is the game I would like them to remade the most, because playing those minigames online has to be spectacular. I had great memories with Crash Bash. Just a comment on your analysis, you missed the funniest minigames, Mallet Mash and Dragon Drop, you should go through every level cause even though they have all more or less the same dynamic, it's not what happens to these medieval arenas, where minigames are completely different.
creative ha maybe for the first 10 seconds and the boss fights were fine, but it just became repeating everything over and over again. BTW i think that you are lying when you said that you can be playing for ages without getting tired. BRUH me and many other people got tired of the game in the second warp room.
You were absolutely right that the most enjoyment in this game comes from playing it with others. And it wasn't just battle mode that you could play multiplayer. Adventure mode had a co-op which I used to play with my dad, and we had a ton of fun together, and it was nice having a game I could so easily introduce him to. This game has a lot of nostalgia value for me and I remember playing it over and over.
This game is TIMELESS! I've always played the co-op adventure, so yes it may be a bit boring in single player, but I ensure you that playing it with a friend is extremely fun. My sister and I play Crash Bash like every time we meet, because we don't live near. But every time is like the first time. We never get tired of it. Yes, it's really frustrating at some points, but when you get through them it's very satisfying. The last time we played we only got the 198% completion, because of the N.Ballism platinum relic, that's PAINFUL. But I hope we can get through it next time we meet. 😂 Oxide isn't actually that hard, since the game (that stage at least) has a dynamic difficulty, so he lets you win after a few losses. I hope Crash Bash will get a CTR treatment in the future, maybe after the new Crash main title is launched, because I think it has a lot of potential (they could add new stages, characters and online mode). I think that the strongest point of this game is the fact that you can play the whole adventure with a friend, so I suggest you to do that if you can. 😉 Right now I'm trying to beat all the Beenox times in CTR, too. Turbo Track seems like hell, but we can do this! 😆 Keep up the good content Lewis! 💪
Literally just sat down with a pizza like ''Hmm, what am I gonna watch while devouring this.. oh look, WumpaLewis just uploaded a vid about Crash Bash!!''
It’s a shame you didn’t have a friend to test it with to because it had a different batch of mission and difficulty with two players used to play every day I could with my brother and sister
Yeah, you can have your friend mess up and waste all of your shared poll of lives over and over again until you decide to kill each other irl! It's amazing! Okay, that was a bit too much, but seriously, people that says that Mario Party ruins friendships clearly never played this co op.
Having played the multiplayer as a kid, I can safely say that this game was *NOT* built for co-op. If you play on a team the mission objectives apply to you both, so if one fails you both fail.
@@JCBro-yg8vd I don't remember a single game where if your partner died, you lose, yeah it was hard going 2v1 in the ball or polar game if your partner died but it wasn't game over. @@jahaininagaki385 Dmitry Merezhko I think that those were better than the original 1 and 2 because of the relics post-game, which gave you a good challenge and extra stuff to do. 1 and 2 were really good but neither of them had relic challenges post-game (although they both had some really tough gems to find), and 2 for some reason wouldn't let you rematch boss characters for fun, unlike the other 4 (until they got remastered).
i've completed 200% and i am never playing this again... n ballism and sky balls were literally in my nightmares. The amount of luck required for the platinums on these levels is insane, let alone the fact that you have to win 3 times in a row vs bullshit ai with instant reaction. This 100% (200%) was the most painful completion i've ever done in any game. (But i still like this game a lot and want it to be remastered as well).
Yeah those mini games where bullshit, and the Relic was insanely hard especially some mini game where the CPU knows your strategy and they all attack you at once so you lose, but overall this game was so much fun, I remember playing sometimes miss those days.

@@mercenarygundam1487 so did me and my brother.. it was absolutely bonkers.. with many challenges being cleared by the last second (like the ballon ones)
On that ballon one we’d win within fractions of the last second, than it bugged for 1 or 2 seconds than we found out we won 😆 after trying hard dozens of times
Same. I did with my little sister. Was crazy hard. But the real pain was trying doing it solo. On the relic challenges all the other 3 target you like 95% of the time so you end up 1 v 3 and in the tank arenas its a pain in the a$$ winning 3 times on a row. Specially the swamp one. With boats. There is no place to hide or cover and they all just go on you from the first second.
Without a doubt my favourite Crash game and fourth favourite of all time. There's so much stuff to do, studying the minigames and become the best of the best at them. Metal Fox's crystal challenge can be quite easy. If you get cornered by a mine, just shoot a wall, and the Iframes will let you tank the mine with no issue. Also you missed out on the Medieval Mayem minigames, who are the most diverse and unique in the game. I do agree on one side though: the platinum relic challenges are something so retardedly frustrating that it's probably the worst aspect of the game. I've always dreamt a remake for this game with an online mode...
I have to mention, in the first "racing" minigame where you drive in circle, to cause the most chaos you've ever seen just use boost while driving in opposite direction and try to hit one of the other races. They will get stuck to the wall trying to turn right and do the same to other racers until they fall down. Some of the most funny situations I had in this game. I finished the last room as well and some of the levels were really good fun. Great video BTW 😊
Man, this takes me back. My favorite mini-game by far was Polar Panic and its variants, we used to play these all the time with my brother, good times :p
Very fond memories of this game! I was born in 1994 and was gifted a PS1 from Santa in the year I turned 7, so this game was still around. Saw it on a rack in an airport in New Zealand when flying back to Aus and begged my parents to buy it, it was $30 but they refused and I chucked a hissy over it. Eventually got it and played the hell out of it, partly solo and partly with a friend. You're right that the game is more enjoyable in co-op, but it's also easier too. Some of those tough minigames are much more manageable. I never fought Oxide but I did reach the previous warp room, wasn't fussy about completion, I just liked playing most of the games. It was fun with how there were 4 pairs of mechanically different units with different strengths in some stages, like Cortex and N.Brion had the best throw on the bash game, but the worst melee. I honestly enjoyed all the minigames, even got used to the funky controls on the racing ones. Amazing vibe too, might not be Naughty Dog but it really hit that classic Crash feel. I still play my old copy of this game on my old PS1 on rare occasions!
The best thing about Crash Bash is the 2-Player / coop Story Mode. Playing through the whole game with a friend improves the experience significantly, especially once you reach the relic challenges.
its not a party game, its a co-op game! the most fun u can have with this game is beating the insane challneges with a friend 2vAI. the biggest oversight people have when criticizing it is just comparing it to mario and saying its inferior. i was surprised when i saw the low scores online, since as a kid everyone i knew spend fuckton of time on this and they loved it. u dont know how fun co-op can be until u sit down and play the adventure with a friend going for 100+%.
I think the same too. It's very frustrating if you play it alone. The real fun was playing with my siblings and cousins. Sometimes we would just play the Battle or Tournament modes for hours.
Playing the adventure mode with 2 players is much more fun than playing 1 player. In addition for relics, especially for single player, the computers seem to work as a team. Also a 2-player mode allows a final epic battle if the 2 player pick a different side.
I loved that on the racing minigame if you play co-op the laps are shared between members of the same team, what I did with a friend was that I focused on playing normally since I was quite good but his focus was to just disturb the other team and buy me more time to focus on my laps. Me and my friends are all around our 30's now and we sometimes hope for some kind of remake of this game with good multiplayer.
This game was so fun when I was kid. Whenever I would visit my uncle he and I would start a new file and get as far as possible before I went home. Two players for this game was the way it was meant to be played.
This game was the best one I played as a kid. It's ridiculously hard and fun to play but I can still hear "You Failed!" everytime I failed a Gem, Crystal, and Relic Challenges.
few things to mention in addition to this video: 3:20 In Pogo Painter levels Dingodile and rilla roo are a bit better than other characters because they move 1 frame faster than other characters, in fact it would be nice to say that every character have its pros and cons and they are not equal at every game 7:15 You actually can just shot into the wall next to you to take a bit of dmg from your own shot and then have invincibility frames to dodge the mines 10:30 Worth to add that for relic challenges the "arena champions" are all against you, it's either 1v3 (single player) or 2v2 (multiplayer) they rarely attack others during those challenges making it difficult esp in crate battles or tank levels. Overall great video and as a person who got 200% with every single character I can confirm it's insanely hard yet fun and I loved to do so.
I remember playing this game many years ago with my brother. We probably have endless hours put in and many laughs. We would talk about how this game would be awesome if it had online during the Xbox 360 and ps3 days. He would carry me almost all the time in adventure mode in the gem and relic modes (he's older than I am). A few years ago I downloaded this and played it on an emulator. We ended up playing through the whole thing, 200% and I ended up carrying him on the harder mini games, especially the pinball one. Thanks for this video. It brought up many good memories I have with my brother as kids.
Look guys don’t ask for remastered and remake for crash bash they won’t make that in 2020 because we only getting new crash bandicoot game 2020 and crash pvp player vs player and crash bash remake nooo it’s not getting remastered and remake already
Man watching this video was a super shot of nostalgia. I remember playing this game over and over again as a kid, I didn't have a memory card so everytime I'd have to start a new a game and I still loved it lol
@@colleenglanville8293 Yeah, I'm pretty competitive with myself and want to fully complete the video games that I play. There is quite a bit of strategy that goes into it. Additionally, I am 27 now and have been playing that game on and off since my teens. I could probably get all the way to warp room 5 in just a couple hours. The thing that slows me down is when you start getting to relics and really hard gems and crystals. A lot of the mini games have massive loopholes (regarding how the computer players operate and stuff) that I exploit in order to win the game. Some of the mini games (even some of the platinum relics) are a cakewalk for me but the ones that bog me down could ruin it for me. But I'm not as good as the speed runners that can get to 200% in 8-10 hours straight. They'd whoop my ass if I played against them. But I wish I were.
@@absatlow1 Ah!! Don’t be so hard on yourself. If you do it enough times and practice, you could beat the speed runners at their own game. Good for you by the way... a lot of people don’t often get back to this game, and the people that do just fascinate me. Keep on completing those games! 😄😁👍
I love you're resuming and analyzing the game. I really hope we'll get an online version remake. Said that, in the tank mini-games to avoid "impossible situation" you can use the "invincibility moment" after a hit taken. The hits taken by your bullets have limited damage so you can use that invincibility moment to avoid getting hit by a mine or another player. I know the game it's really frustrating sometime, maybe I love it also for that.
I've been watching all your videos because there was a small part of this game lodged in the deepest part of my memory but I didn't know which crash game it was... so happy I found it haha, the nostalgia!
I want a remake of this game, but with Velo entering the mix with his own champions, creating a third faction to align with. The entire roster of CTRNF, plus some new stat distibutions and mechanics for the new characters, like how they added the Drift Engine in CTR. Imagine King Chicken vs The Iron Checkpoint Crate. In the Bash minigames, the Iron Crate would be Immobile, but tanky, and have mastery over other crates. Maybe he'd just be a secret boss? King Chicken on the other hand would be a speedy speed boy. Unable to move crates, but can run around very fast and has a rapid melee attack. A Glass Cannon. In the Polar levels, they could probably change Coco's mount to Pura, and Velo's Team would be riding whatever creature Zam is supposed to be. Better yet, maybe the mounts can be interchanged between polars, puras, zams, and the hog. Of course, character skins are a given. I'm just spitballing/dreaming here.
The true potential of this game is exploited when you finish adventure mode. A lot of people say that this game is repetitive because the minigames are the same but with slighty modified rules, but when you beat Oxide, you can unlock completely new minigames. Its like CTR. You have to play a lot and very good to find the true potential of the game... My score: 7/10 PD: 1:10 Who are the ancients? I like the tribal magic/sci fi ambientation of the series... maybe in the next game this can be exploited.... I hope...
I remember I was really proud of maxing out the percentage for this game by beating everything. My favorite map was Space Bash as I enjoyed the strategy in the map and the balance between different characters for the usefulness of kicking and throwing. That was definitely the best map to play with friends for a somewhat competitive experience. It's a shame you didn't play more as there are rather unique stages you didn't play that were some of my favorites too. I remember there being a dragon riding level that was similar to basketball.
markycupko I really so to fo mr crash bash remake and remastered but I hope going to be on game awards in the future in 2020 or not but we gotta find out

@@splash_067 Well Twinsanity is objectively the worse made mainline Crash game being very glitchy, unpolished, and rushed. Bash is definitely more polished, not rushed, and actually challenging.
@@carvahaunter122 People need to stop blaming WoC for Twinsanity's failures. WoC didn't stop the games like CNK & the first two Gba crash games from selling well and being received well. Plus if it wasn't for WOC selling as good as it did, games like Twinsanity wouldn't have existed. Twinsanity had incompetent devs that had about 3 years to make it yet it still came out super rushed because that lacked focused in development. Plus Twinsanity had advertisements starring actors from "Jackass", so its marketing was far from bad. The game was just unappealing cause it was too goofy and nonsensical being released next to the likes of Jak 3 & Ratchet 3.

There not gotta make crash bash remake or remastered man it not happening god it’s cancelled 😒
One thing you didn’t mention is that if you play adventure mode couch coop, and you and your partner are 1 good and 1 evil character, you actually have to fight each other at the end. That is still to this day one of the coolest game mechanics I have ever seen!
Back in 2000 this and Spyro 2 were my most played games. Good times.

Think again man they didn’t remade or remake crash bash man and I don’t give a shit 😒
creative ha maybe for the first 10 seconds and the boss fights were fine, but it just became repeating everything over and over again. BTW i think that you are lying when you said that you can be playing for ages without getting tired. BRUH me and many other people got tired of the game in the second warp room.
@@1116-q1n shut up 😒
You were absolutely right that the most enjoyment in this game comes from playing it with others.
Goodluck with Beenox time trials

Literally just sat down with a pizza like ''Hmm, what am I gonna watch while devouring this.. oh look, WumpaLewis just uploaded a vid about Crash Bash!!''
It’s a shame you didn’t have a friend to test it with to because it had a different batch of mission and difficulty with two players used to play every day I could with my brother and sister
Also if you're on opposing factions, there's a final battle match where you fight each other.
Crash Bash is rather a multiplayer game

I have to mention, in the first "racing" minigame where you drive in circle, to cause the most chaos you've ever seen just use boost while driving in opposite direction and try to hit one of the other races. I finished the last room as well and some of the levels were really good fun. Great video BTW 😊

Seeing the date, I expected the rating to be "It gave us Rilla Roo, so BEST CRASH GAME EVER!"
I would love if this game got a remaster with all the new characters and skins! Maybe even new gamemodes every month just like we had new maps in ctr
Man it won’t man sorry but wumpa league getting new cash game 2022 or 2023 or crash 5 and that’s it
the rilla roo taunt gets me everytime. also this is an amazing game
its not a party game, its a co-op game! the most fun u can have with this game is beating the insane challneges with a friend 2vAI. the biggest oversight people have when criticizing it is just comparing it to mario and saying its inferior. i was surprised when i saw the low scores online, since as a kid everyone i knew spend fuckton of time on this and they loved it.
u dont know how fun co-op can be until u sit down and play the adventure with a friend going for 100+%.
Me and my friends are all around our 30's now and we sometimes hope for some kind of remake of this game with good multiplayer.
this video brings back some childhood memories, nice video dude looking forward to the crash boom bang one
This game was so fun when I was kid. Whenever I would visit my uncle he and I would start a new file and get as far as possible before I went home. Two players for this game was the way it was meant to be played.
This game was the best one I played as a kid. It's ridiculously hard and fun to play but I can still hear "You Failed!" everytime I failed a Gem, Crystal, and Relic Challenges.
loved crash bash. Played it with my bros and sis. Cant imagine playing it one player. Hopefully they remake it!
They didn’t make crash bash remake since 2020 and 2021
few things to mention in addition to this video:
3:20 In Pogo Painter levels Dingodile and rilla roo are a bit better than other characters because they move 1 frame faster than other characters, in fact it would be nice to say that every character have its pros and cons and they are not equal at every game
7:15 You actually can just shot into the wall next to you to take a bit of dmg from your own shot and then have invincibility frames to dodge the mines
10:30 Worth to add that for relic challenges the "arena champions" are all against you, it's either 1v3 (single player) or 2v2 (multiplayer) they rarely attack others during those challenges making it difficult esp in crate battles or tank levels.
Oxide in this game reminds me that bots can actually kill me.
Crash Bash Online would be WAOW!

Additionally, I am 27 now and have been playing that game on and off since my teens. I could probably get all the way to warp room 5 in just a couple hours. The thing that slows me down is when you start getting to relics and really hard gems and crystals.

That opening just gave you a new Subscription!
To paraphrase a duo doing co-op 200% speedruns of this game:
"Crash Bash is a game where you play Crash Ball, then proceed to not have fun for six hours straight."
Short answer: Yesssss and it sold a lot better than twinsanity and some people say it sells better than CTR
Nearly every game sold more than Twinsanity since that game wasn't appealing back then plus it was rushed & unpolished mediocrity.
Just because it sells more doesn't mean it's better
cmsunite The marketing for the game was awful, plus the mediocre reception of WOC didn’t help.

They SERIOUSLY NEED to remake this game and add online features.
This was like my favorite PSX game ever.
Yeah! And also Activision and Vicarious Visions needs to remake Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex and Crash Twinsanity too.
It’s to late man they just make a crash bandicoot 4 and that’s it but no crash bash remake announced trailer in 2020 and it’s over because they done and through and finished face it they won’t be a chance hope and dreams and everything 😔😢😞
Tyler Villaloboz I’m not listening!
Ben Hughes it’s because you want crash bash remake and wrath of cortex remastered and twinsanity remastered
Just imagine this game remastered in 2020 after nearly 20 years, what would you think will change? The simple answer: LOTS OF CREATIVE IDEAS/MINI-GAMES! From both the studio and also the community, a monthly new added mini games and warp rooms!!
God I hope it get remastered and from Beenox, they already made a perfect job with CTR which is the best crash game in my personal opinion alongside crash bash, so if they ended up remastered it I’ll go Crazy!
And more more characters
And skins too
Ben Hughes yeah but most importantly gameplay quality, with Beenox it’ll be legendary 😍
FaisalKiller Hopefully ninja skins for all female characters.
FaisalKiller And I hope Activision remasters Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath Of Cortex and Crash Twinsanity.
I remember playing the ball levels with my brother and I end up scoring on him by mistake and he gets so frustrated 😂 but we managed to finish the game , good times.
*"Not Exactly A Happy Ending If You Choose One Of His Characters."*
Lol! 😂😂😂
I was seven years old when this came out. I still remember the butterflies I got in my stomach when I saw the cover art plastered all over the stores. Loved this game so much
A remake of this game would be fire. With online mode and maybe a new warp room.
They won’t remake crash bash of this man there making wumpa league new crash game 2021 or 2022
@@tylermatthew349
Why are you repeating the same comments on every comment that wishes for a crash bash remake? Just let us be optimistic, man. We know of wumpa league, but just let us be optimistic for the future, man. The fact that you respond to comments that are a year old, just shows how bad and negative you are. Stop being negative for once. Please man. Just please
@@alec2000 shut up
@@alec2000 go get some help or be poor btw stay out my own

Oh man. The day you stop being negative will be the best.
Crash bash was underrated and amazing... I know it won’t get one but I want a remaster with more characters and online gameplay
Sorry man they won’t make it for online and remake and remastered crash bash in 2020
Tyler Villaloboz unfortunately they probably won’t it was popular enough compared to CTR and the originals
Nothing channel that’s just fucking great people use more money for ctr nitro fueled remastered and remake but no fucking crash bash remake and now everyone wanted a new crash bandicoot 4 but no because it’s everyone fault and same the people fault to 😡😠😒
Yes. For a first try Party game in the crash franchise, it's f*cking amazing.
The story is a bit lazy, but the rest is great!
THIS is the remaster I want. I wanted 2 Crash remasters more than anything else.
I got one in racing and Beenox handled that game flawlessly and I’ll always be grateful even though it’s over.
Now I just need this. With more playable characters? Ugh I’m moist thinking about it.
Loo they won’t remake and remastered crash bash man but I doubt beeonx is or not making and happening 😔😞
I am the great Might papu papu
And I will swing my stick at you.
