CDI Stock VS Dynatek Brute Force 650 ATV Test

  • This is a comparison that I did between the stock and Dynatek CDI Module! I am not sponsored by Dynatek and this was purely for my curiosity and I wanted to share my findings!
    I was also told by a dealer that I should run premium gas with it and not run the Dynatek box in the winter at minus temps...it apparently makes the engine run really lean and could cause problems! Hope you enjoy!
    Note: Dynatek tells me that with the proper jetting, the Dynatek module can be used in cold weather!

    That’s pretty incredible. So the Brute Force is factory detuned clearly. That’s okay for me because it’s a beast and at my age, it’s plenty powerful. But to unleash that extra power to wheelie like that is impressive.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  5 лет назад +3

      Yes, the Brutes are pretty powerful stock but this is only for the carburettor models and really adds the power! I was really surprised at the difference it made! Thanks for watching Craig!

    That was a good little demo! Looked like a nice performance boost. Have you noticed any change in fuel consumption, one way or the other? I like the reverse limiter elimination. Is your quad fuel injected? Good video.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  8 лет назад +3

      +cubbeezx Hey Cubbee, ATV is Carb'd! I don't really watch the fuel consumption on the short rides, I did recently do a 104km ride and was on the throttle pretty good...still had fuel to spare, so I don't think it's dropped that much! Without the Reverse limiter, I tried to do a reverse wheelie but can't seem to get the rear to come up...I think it's because I'm not pulling up on anything on the rear like you would when hanging onto handlebars! Thanks for checking it out and commenting!

    WOW! What a difference! I could even hear it in the throttle response when in neutral.
    What would be the reasoning behind a rev limiter in reverse? Seems unsafe to me.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  8 лет назад +2

      +quaddingsous Not 100 percent sure but I'm assuming it is for control, easy to power yourself out of control in reverse! Thanks for commenting and checking the video out Q!

    • @ehTV1000
      @ehTV1000 8 лет назад +1

      you are correct safety feature , and also some atv's are not geared for the stress that full power can create in reverse gear

    • @reddawng43x91
      @reddawng43x91 4 года назад

      So u don’t kill urself in full power reverse

    • @TheBeeMan1994
      @TheBeeMan1994 3 года назад

      Even though this is a 5 year old comment, the whole point of a reverse rev limiter is so if you get the 4 wheeler stuck, like let’s say you drop into a ditch or a draw and you can’t pull out of it and you reverse it instead, and your in 4wd the 4 wheeler won’t go full power if you slip and hit the throttle wide open, and 180 the 4 wheeler on top of yourself. My prarie has a reverse override for the rev limiter but once the machine gets to a certain angle it completely kills the spark until you come back down.
      Basically it’s so grandpa doesn’t snap his neck while out checking the fence

    I love my 07 Brute I’m hesitant about adding that mod in the long term longevity of the engine as with many mods on anything sometimes the disadvantages outweigh the advantages especially when you have bad luck with modifications like I do I always seem to screw up what I have by adding power mods.

    • @RobFarrowATV
      @RobFarrowATV  6 лет назад +1

      I don't believe it has any real long term effects on the bike. I just didn't use it in the winter cold days...might be too lean! Adds a pile of HP to the machine though but sometimes you might be better off leaving well enough alone! ;-) Thanks for checking the vid out Man!
