Five years ago today, 20 babies & 6 adult educators were massacred in the #SandyHook shooting. I was honored to sing at a special event last week that was organized by Matt & Jenny Hubbard, the parents of Catherine Violet Hubbard, one of the children killed in the shooting. I got to learn so much about Violet. It really was a beautiful tribute and I was deeply moved by their stories and viewpoints on "life after loss". I produced this video 5 years ago, but felt it would be appropriate to air it again on this day.

Revisiting this song after the tragedy that just took place in Uvalde Texas … it’s so heartbreaking to know that there is such evil in this world that makes us have to sing songs to commemorate the dying of young children.. knowing that in almost 10 years, nothing has changed and we are in the exact same place again, mourning the passing of innocent souls that had their futures ripped from them at the hands of another human being. I hope their spirits rest peacefully 🕊
I think that believers and non-believers alike can/should see this as a heart felt tribute to the young children lost in this tragic event and that we should not too hung up on the words of the song. Thanks for sharing.

I believe he was born in Nigeria, raised mostly in London, and is now an American citizen. I love that he incorporates African languages with his music. You should check out the song he did with The Piano Guys, Peponi. It's awesome.

February 14 is suppose to be a day that brings love. But, for twenty-six families, this day became a day of loss and sorrow. It's horrible how people are so angry, frustrated, and upset with how the world treats them, that instead of seeking help and closure, they take that anger and turn it into unrestrained violence. And that unrestrained violence ends up hurting or killing the young and the innocent.
Thank you, Mr. Alex Boye, for making this tribute in honor of the families who lost their loved ones on one of the most recent tragic and heartbreaking events in our history.

Very nice song/tribute. I also would like to know the names of the soloists. Among the group that sang in front, I loved the voice of the guy on the end in the hooded un-zipped sweatshirt. What a lovely, deep voice. I would love to know his name so I can hear more of his music.
