Cam really should have had Graham's pool. Two Burning Vengeance, two Deep Analysis, two Silent Departure and like three other decent flashback cards. AND an Oona's Grace.
Victor Dou Force of Will, the blue card with orange art he puts down around 1:07:41. It's one of the best, if not the best, counterspell in Magic. It's currently an $80 card
Graham had a pretty sweet Naya deck, actually. He had around 5 fixing lands, and combining white with his agressive RG deck would give him a solid plan. Also, his white had sweet instants to put on the Scepter, like Humble, Raise the Alarm, and Unexpectedly Absent.
Grahams deck actually came together in a fun way. Disk with Mishras Factory surviving and shit. Seeing Cameron play a Force of Will was nice too though.
Whoever was editing this video or processing audio during recording put a really impressive gate on. Especially during Cam's deckbuilding, it's like eerily quiet when he's not talking.
Mogg Fanatic is a criminally underrated card. It's a goblin, or a burn spell, whichever is better. There are a lot of X/1s in the format and they do exactly what the token deck wants to do. You can also use it at instant-speed without tapping. So, onboard combat trick. It's a headache for your opponent. Cannot believe you don't understand how much utility it can provide.
The reason they made Vanishing was that people kept playing Fading wrong. It's more intuitive to sacrifice your permanent when the last counter is removed. It's problematic for players that know both mechanics, but not really for players that only learn about Vanishing.
alex had an awsome reanimator deck: Victimize Inkwell Leviathan Sphinx of the Steel Wind Animate Dead Peregrine Drake Man-O-War Deadbridge Shaman (x2) Screeching Skaab Deep Analysis (x2) Phyrexian Ingester Counterspell Nausea (x2) Fractured Powerstone Dreamtwist Silent Departure Night's Whisper Grave Digger But also Red White Aggro looked kinda nuts
Question on Duplicant: It says "as long as a card exiled with Duplicant is a creature card", not "as long as that card is in exile", so wouldn't Duplicant remain shapeshifted even if the card it exiled is moved from exile, to the graveyard, battlefield, hand, etc, as long as that card's type remains creature?
Aidan's got it right. Abilities of this kind are referred to as "linked abilities" and in this case Duplicant's second ability is looking specifically for creature cards it put into the exile zone using the first ability, and it's only looking in the exile zone for those cards. It can't see them anywhere else.
Uh, Duplicant is great. Easy two-for-one. Even better when you're behind. Exile a big dude? Duplicant gets the P/T of that big dude. It's an obvious bomb. Of course, I say this as a frequent Commander player. EDH fans know to respect Duplicant.
Aroop Roelofs If you haven't gotten an answer to this yet, it is a specially modified version of the DeckedBuilder app. You can get the public version here: www.deckedbuilder.com/ Paul has talked about thier version on the forums and some streams.
CHULP 75 because it works as a good panic button. if he is struggling to get a good board state and his opponent is wag ahead in tempo, it will help balance things out.
Cam should have removed the 2 black 4-drops and maybe a tidal wave so he could put in 2 duresses and a dualcaster mage and maybe do cabal therapy. He should have all-in'ed :/ I'm frustrated the chat was talking him out of Grixis
Although he says "some garbage" he actually gasped out loud on the card before FOW, so most likely he gasped at FOW, but wanted to play it cool. Still, though. That made me laugh.
Okay, would someone please tell me what the big lrrEFFing deal with Cabal Therapy is? Cam: "Come on. How do we not play that?" Me: "Uh...because it seems like finding a valid target is next to impossible, especially in limited?"
There's also the moment where Alex once managed to correctly guess that his opponent had a Memnarch in hand on turn 1, prompting his opponent to ask "Are you a wizard?"
This is not "just dropping it". They're a webshow and Magic is ahuge part of their portfolio, them doing stuff like this is investing. And of course they do make enough, this is their job...
"Can I read it?"
...
"I wish they'd stop reprinting this."
"So good in every format."
Made me laugh harder than it should have.
"some garbage" causally lays FoW on table"
That had me dying
I laughed so loud I woke my GF from her nap. I feel bad, but that was hilarious.
Cam really should have had Graham's pool. Two Burning Vengeance, two Deep Analysis, two Silent Departure and like three other decent flashback cards. AND an Oona's Grace.
FoW?

Of course Cam would be the one to open FoW.
Grahams deck actually came together in a fun way. Disk with Mishras Factory surviving and shit.

alex's little card spread at the end made me very happy that it just worked
I think he used to do card magic
"Next up is Cam or Alex, whoever loses the knife fight." Loses, Graham? Alright...

Cam opening FoW: "some garbage"
Me opening FoW: *Hugs checkout guy*
oh that Hero's Quest plug... I need to find a good copy of that game to teach my kids the good games.
The reason they made Vanishing was that people kept playing Fading wrong. It's more intuitive to sacrifice your permanent when the last counter is removed. It's problematic for players that know both mechanics, but not really for players that only learn about Vanishing.
Hmmm, 1:00am, but this and the 8 hour AFK stream are uploaded...
Meh, I'll sleep when I'm dead.
pyroblast is a VERY different card in magic and hearthstone
yeah it's actually good in mtg
Graham "I don't think the red splash works" *proceeds to play white only for fucking vindicate when red gives him more value*
Cameron "some garbage" Lauder
I liked Avacyn Restored, it was the first time I played MTG. Avacyn was my first mythic, I'm never trading her
I wish I could have drafted/bought a box, my lgs ran out really quick, and I had to work on release night...
Nevinyrral is Larry Niven, the sci fi writer
Did they put reverb on Cam's 'pop' at 2:18:34 ?
I would've liked for James to see what the UW deck would've looked like. Seems like it might have been pretty good.
alex had an awsome reanimator deck:
Victimize
Inkwell Leviathan
Sphinx of the Steel Wind
Animate Dead
Peregrine Drake
Man-O-War
Deadbridge Shaman (x2)
Screeching Skaab
Deep Analysis (x2)
Phyrexian Ingester
Counterspell
Nausea (x2)
Fractured Powerstone
Dreamtwist
Silent Departure
Night's Whisper
Grave Digger
But also Red White Aggro looked kinda nuts

There is not a card exiled by duplicant at that point.

SO the new Masters17 is tomorrow and i'm so hype!!!!
HOLY CRAP! Cam and I have the same mug!
Do they get to keep the cards they open ? I never understand how that worked
Cam's shatter pause around 2:43:00. 😁
"some garbage" Oh my god Cam, I will take ALL of your garbage!
what dice do you use and where can i get some?
What is the game/cards Graham is playing in the intro?
"Dooon't blow up the woooorld... Doooon't blow up"
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I got an idea, follow me on this, follow me on this. But what if I did?
How did they do that scan thingy? (that they just smack a card on the table and it gets put in the stream)
They have a card scanner :)
Yes, that's quite obvious haha :p but I was mainly asking for the software itself :)
Aroop Roelofs If you haven't gotten an answer to this yet, it is a specially modified version of the DeckedBuilder app. You can get the public version here: www.deckedbuilder.com/
Paul has talked about thier version on the forums and some streams.
Also would really really love the lrr crew go back to showing off of everyone's deck lists after the drafts.
Two cats, one pack.
I wasn't actually looking at the screen when he opened the Force of Will, so I thought he opened actual garbage hahahaha
Why did James run wrath in his tokens deck?
CHULP 75 because it works as a good panic button. if he is struggling to get a good board state and his opponent is wag ahead in tempo, it will help balance things out.
what a well made video
Cam should have removed the 2 black 4-drops and maybe a tidal wave so he could put in 2 duresses and a dualcaster mage and maybe do cabal therapy. He should have all-in'ed :/ I'm frustrated the chat was talking him out of Grixis
When did MtG get a mulligan rule? Man I would have used that back in the day.
1997 actually.
Ah. Last I played was just after Ice Age came out in ... '96 I think. So that would explain it. Thanks!
+TPRJones the most recent rule is that you mulligan down 1, then when you decide to keep a hand, you scry 1.
Magic has had 7 mulligan changes and 8 mulligans starting in alpha with the 0 land mulligan
Although he says "some garbage" he actually gasped out loud on the card before FOW, so most likely he gasped at FOW, but wanted to play it cool.
Still, though. That made me laugh.

Cam: "Come on. How do we not play that?"
Me: "Uh...because it seems like finding a valid target is next to impossible, especially in limited?"
B: look at opponents hand + trigger young pyromancer
Sac elemental token: remove annoying card you know about + trigger young pyromancer
As +steven janic said, but also any number of hand attack IE duress makes it even better
There's also the moment where Alex once managed to correctly guess that his opponent had a Memnarch in hand on turn 1, prompting his opponent to ask "Are you a wizard?"
***** Palinchron, but yea... don't ask why i lack life so much i memorize Alex-Senpai's words.
When you've got homework to butttttt it's Team LRR
Why oh why would James play wrath of god in a tokens deck... well here I am having built up all those nice tokens... let's just whipe me away
Holy Nulogorsk, Alex just ripped mono-value!!!
three rally the peasants, and two intangible virtue, and yet I don't grudge Alex for not going RW tokens... That's how ABSOLUTELY SICK that pool was.
Forever salty that James did not build UW control ;P love these videos though :D
AGREED IT WAS AN INSANE POOL FOR UW
what made it insane?
Been a bit but if I remember i was on the removal bandwagon, and lots of wrath effects, with amazing beaters in the form of the kittens
that was so cool!
1:07:43 just some garbage.
2:36:22; beautiful, beautiful garbage.
1:31:10
O.O
Graham hide.
Grixis mono 2 for ones let's go cam!!!
did a ema draft, pack 1 pick 1 brago.... then I moved to value town and settled there 3-0
Brago and Mesa dont work together, Cast and Flicker.....CAST and Flicker!!!
Oh my god, Enlightened Tutor would be Duplicant #2... "I'll take removal where I can get it," does not play unconditional exile effect. smh
Fog too strong for card reader
god... bought two of these? I didn't know they made enough to just drop $800... either way they made the right call
This is not "just dropping it". They're a webshow and Magic is ahuge part of their portfolio, them doing stuff like this is investing. And of course they do make enough, this is their job...
Boros boros boros
no cam. just no. I would have taken the nekrataal even if it was by itself
You see, he had a plan the whole time
