@@leeneje Wow the seller was very misinformed there. All carts works on the original handheld. Namco carts only don't work on the VS console due to different license agreements.
Great video as always. Just a word of warning that when you first play Thunder Hoop on the Gaelco Collection 1, the update patch seems to take ages to install and you'll think it's frozen but wait a bit longer and it'll eventually boot up :-) Keep up the awesome work!
Yeah thanks Jamie. Some of these I can't check personally cause they've already been updated via the VS. I'm glad it does work though! Finally play the last levels!
I still love my original handheld. It's a bit of a shame that it's been retired, I've had lot of fun with it. Having said that, my limited edition EXP arrived today. It does feel much better built and the screen is definitely better but I'm not sold on tate mode, it just feels a bit awkward to hold vertically. The only thing is, I can't find the credits for the evercade heroes 😂
@Crazy Burger ahhh that'll be why then. I thought I was missing something! So here's a strange thing. I updated my original handheld no problem, and the mega cat 2 cart works fine on it but if I try to start Arkagis revolution on VS or EXP it won't run at all, but it works perfect on the original handheld. Do you have the same experience with this or have I got a dodgy cart? It always used to run perfectly fine on VS so I don't know what's going on.
Ah.. that sounds like a bug.. send it to Support@Evercade.co.uk. I've seen this issue many times. It's frustrating. Not just on this game but many others
Looks like the update is fine, Which is always a good sign But I agree with you if you are just sticking to the old carts You really don't need to do it
Yeah for me I'd happily stuck with V1.3, prior to the update to match the VS. I think this is when a lot of issues arose. Plus the occasional error when going from handheld to VS. Fingers crossed it throws up no issues.

Doesn't launch the demo version of the game, either. I tried pressing start while loading, but that didn't do anything. I feel like I probably need a VS to fully update the cart. Would be curious to hear from anyone who only has an EXP and that cart.
Still no updater for Linux, the last version of windows I used was Win 7 so I have no way to update my Evercade, which is kinda rubbish . C'mon Blaze get your act together, I won't be getting an Exp until I see some improvements in support.
I went 9 months without getting an update on my evercade because I had a M1 macbook air. The og Evercade hand held really does have that nostalgic feeling of hardware/user experience from 2002
@@CZpersi Well, I did finally cave in and get an EXP but I wasn't very impressed with it and have barely touched it since, so I guess it's a bit of a non issue for me now. I much prefer the original Evercade, the only thing they improved with the EXP was the screen and some things actually seem worse.

I'm guessing stats are based on being in a system with firmware that supports it. My carts played on VS showed no plays when first put in the EXP

Lol maybe. In Original ratio at least. I think it was never right since 1.3. Think it's finally looking better.
Did they fix the text speed on those RPG's on Renovation?
Ah.. not sure, problem for me is that all my carts were updated with these fixes already via the VS. You'd like to think this has been done.
Would the latest ypdTe play the Duke Nukem 1, and 2 Collections? One of the main reasons i wanted to buy the evercade blaze. I have the first version.

My copy of Roniu's Tale just doesn't work on my EXP. Not sure if it's just my cart or a wider issue. Firmware is up to date.

@@rheck86 OK that sounds to me that the cart is corrupt for that game. Contact support@evercade.co.uk and get a replacement.
My console cannot be updated. I pressed the buttons and nothing happens

Can you run the updater under Wine? It sometimes solved such problems for me.

Its taking FOREVER to download the firmware drivers! So far i've been waiting 4 hours and still nothing! What a catastrophy the Evercade is!
