- $70 Nintendo Switch - Can I Fix It?! BROKEN Switch from eBay - When starting to diagnose the Switch it would charge but nothing would show up on the screen. When I opened it up there was obviously liquid damage and whatever the liquid was left things pretty gross. Also, I could tell something had it apart already and had not put things back correctly. I spent quite a bit of time cleaning things up. I also reconnected a capacitor and replaced the game card reader. I would also replace the case before I sold the Switch which would mean I would make less money on it but I'd still be able to make a decent amount.

About This Video: Watch me clean and repair a liquid damaged Nintendo Switch. It would charge but nothing on the screen when I first started testing it. I had to do quite a bit of clean up plus replace and resolder some parts but I finally got it working.
Hope you enjoyed the vid! If you want to learn to solder but don't know where to learn I've created a FREE online beginner soldering course. Check it out here: www.gameconsolerepairschool.com

Invest in gloves!! 🤢
Where do you find a switch for 250-300 most of the ones I've found are 450 for just the switch not including the chargers or dock?
Dude I've been trying to buy the switches you fix since January but you aren't selling off your site anymore. I only trust buying used from. You because of your videos. Let me know where else you are selling from please.
OMG this is what I needed!
"I'm gonna pretend this is milk" is not a sentence you ever wanna hear
when i worked at batterys plus as a repair tech a woman with a newborn took her phone out of her bra, she didn't know what was wrong with it and when i opened it up it had what looked like milk in it and it wasn't dry... that day was not a good day...
@@jamesfreeman9049 while we're on the subject, at IT dept.s, people often bring keyboards "ruined because coffee was spilled on them". Actually, the coffee itself is pretty harmless, it's the sugar and cream and other sticky gross things that people put in their coffee. If people drank just black coffee, 99% of the time the keyboard only needs to dry out, no further harm or damage.

Hey man just wanna say my son got into these fixes and has made a couple of repairs which where successful

@@Tronicsfix I've been looking for a hobby that can make me some money and your videos are inspiring and helping me to get into switch repairs. (I already fix large machines for a living and have always wanted to get into gaming repairs.)
I wonder if this dude knows how relaxing this is to watch - i often rematch videos to help me fall asleep, Steve’s voice is so laid-back and it’s calming to see things get fixed like that. Thanks man.
With the missing screw someone must have opened it up and saw the "milk" damage and threw in the towel haha
More like someone bought a broken switch they couldn't fix and came all over the cart slot before reassembling it and selling it.

I think I'll always be amazed with how well switch's hold their value. I see second hand ones being sold for the same price as brand new ones and sometimes they sell for more.
The question is, why would any one pay the same or more for a used one?

Bro you’ve inspired me to fix consoles as well, I bought a broken Xbox one on eBay and actually managed to fix it and now it’s quite literally in perfect condition, just gotta resell it now, thank you!! 😄😁🥳
That's amazing! So glad you were able to fix it!
You say: "I'm going to call this milk". Me: Imagination runs wild, gag.
Stop touching the "Milk" with your bare hands for the love of god I beg you
He has gloves! He uses them in other videos!
Let’s just call it “Questionable liquid”
It really is milk. The other stuff would be yellow and mostly clear after drying.
I'm unsure if it's "milk" - it doesn't seem likely that someone could find the game card slot that attractive. It may be yogurt.

Hmmm can you comment on your switch
I just wanted to comment and thank you. I have finally bought myself a switch basically new with good deal. Playing BOTW now and having a blast. If not for your channel, I would probably not finally decide to give in and buy it!
Honestly, that switch was extremely gross >.
Agreed!
That wowstick precision electric screwdriver was such a great purchase I got two, however funny story, *cough* my wife thought i bought a *cough* toy because of how it looks on the box and it says "WOWSTICK 69" lmao
Lol....that's hilarious! Hope you two are enjoying that!

That must have been a awkward conversation afterwards 😂
Yea to me I want it but tbh I don’t shop online much
When you sell it, do you have to disclose that it suffered some "milk damage" lol
I paid 50€ for my Nintendo switch INCLUDING Joy-cons. For the joy-cons the analog sticks are broken and for the tablet itself EVERYTHING is broken except the Mainboard, card reader, Game Cartridge reader and speakers. I‘m still waiting for one of the parts, the metal midframe.
Hope you can fix it!
Good luck repairing!
Just make sure to remember that "milk" is not great for repairs.
Steve I started repairing minor problems on Switches thanks to you. I have watched all your joycon and console videos and decided to try myself and I am going to sell my second "refurbished" by me console! Just wanted you to know that, thanks!

Holy batman, that's revolting! How can people do this to their poor console?!
Stupid people with a lot of money.
No one intentionally pours liquid into their switch... obviously it's an accident which can happen to anyone
I really enjoy your videos. There's just something very satisfying about seeing these broken and damaged electronics being fixed up.
To all videos i watch from him i can tell people really are careless on this expensive devices and they really dont care what they do on this devices because they are mostly cheap in america base on what i know and here in the ph if you broke it in a week your not getting another for like forever
IDK, I'm in the us, still $300 for a new switch / $350 for an Oled. That's a good chunk of a week's pay.

What was worse? The cricket infested game boy, or the "milked" switch?
Not sure its a toss up this point
You have the very spirit to repair things, if it's trashy, other say its worthless, people are selling it like parts, that is when you want it the most because you know that if you fix it not only you can sell it good but you were able to fix it and the challenge is all that is worth for.

I'm watching your videos for about a week and felt totally inspired. I bought a Xbox one x that was "broken" for 50€. Don't know how much it is in $. It didn't load updates and the previous owner thought it was a problem with the HD. It shows error 100. Well, I looked in the inside, cleaned everything, removed some corrosion and that's it. After this she worked fine and I am so happy. Much thanks to you, Steve! Your videos are the best way to learn 😊
PS: hope my English was good enough 🙈
What I want to know is where on eBay is this dude finding this for so cheap? Every broken switch goes for more for some reason.
I bought it several months ago....just now got around to making the video.
yeah most are more expensive u just have to be constantly looking to get one at a good price
@@Tronicsfix I sold mine broken one for $110 on eBay a week ago :D
So... i bought a switch... fell in love with it. Found this channel... now I treat that device even more like a baby than what I did before! I'm afraid to break it, and it seems pretty breakable seeing as how many you keep fixing....
Also, I have NO IDEA why I watch this channel. (Seeing as I don't fix electronics) but I am totally enthralled? Is that the right word?
You’ll be all fine if you don’t get too excited while playing :/
At least you didn’t fall in love with it to the same extent this guy did in spilling his “milk” all over it
Hmm, perhaps someone accidentally drops this switch or broke the game slot or something and tried fixing it themselves with a white glue?, they get dry over time, maybe that explains why it's crusty, and the missing screw, but who knows, maybe it is _milk_
Steve, thankyou so much for the products just came in the kem 490 for the ps4 deliverd by amazon , and it works perfectly anf delivered a day early

how does one spill there “milk” in there switch?!?
who knows
Any electronic board that is covered in liquid residue can be and should be put in ultrasonic cleaner in isopropyl alcohol for 3 to 4 cycles. After that, you can clean it with a brush thoroughly and see if something needs to be resoldered or replaced. That is how I've been fixing the MB from mobiles, tablets, and laptops that were damaged by liquid for the last 10 years. And you can't save them all, but you can always give your best to try.
