Back in the 2000s, Penn and Teller had a show called "Bullsh*t. They did exactly this on one of their episodes, having one of their crew serve a number of instant and boxed foods to food critics, putting an exotic story behind them, serving on a fancy plate, and asking them what they thought. For example, they took non-dairy Dream Whip and said it was a highly specific regional Bavarian cream that required a special process to make. And of course...every critic had high praise for the food. They did another episode where they filled a number of fancy-labeled water bottles with the same garden hose tap water, putting a different story behind where each came from, and asked people which water they liked best. And nobody could tell there was no difference between them.
"Peasant Food" had more flavor or spices in order to hide the poor quality of ingredients. Sometimes ingredients themselves would be rotten, so they had no choice but to resort to using flavoring to make it easier to actually eat. A bit similar to Military MREs and Tabasco. The production quality and storytelling is off the charts with this one. I did my fair share of laughing along with most others, but there's a depressing undertone to what you managed to pull off that lasts well after the video's over. Not only is it shockingly easy to fool so many of us with calculated lies, but so many of us also drop our capacity for critical thinking when we're fed vain dreams of exclusivity. Hopefully your video gets more people to open their minds and ask questions about themselves, because there's no question you know how to entertain. All the best and thanks for the great content.
I'm sure quite a few of these people probably caught on but still gave compliments to be polite. Even if I was eating there and had a strong feeling this was just instant ramen, I would not say that to the waiter lol (unless it genuinely tasted bad).

after i came back to the usa from growing up abroad, it quite dumbfounded me the average american taste buds not knowing what good food is. most ramen shops where i live in the usa serve unauthentic ramen. one even went as far as using canned ingredients for the toppings.
